This video was great, especially because I received the instructions for the economy rack instead. 🤦♂️ The only chance I’d make to your process is to leave the top off until after you’ve installed the heat tape. Makes running the cord for the heat tape, securing it and taping it down much easier. Thanks so much though!!
These racks save me 30% $ compared to cserpents. Easier to put the tape in BEFORE screwing the back in. Plus you will need to mount the thermostat probe anyways and then screw the back on. I’m receiving 2 of these and a Super70 today🎉🎉🎉
@@LunaGeckos sure did and my friend even grabbed a import from somebody threw you recent I believe,bn very niceee Channel! Thankyou it helps me as a 2 year breeder alot
I use them for New Cal and insect tubs. I love them. I never tried in the rack tubs. Was always afraid of too much ventilation on the heated racks (heat and humidity loss). Have you used them in heated racks? If so, they work well there?
great video I love what you did with the instructions sorry you didn't get all the screws they may say you have a few loose screws lol.. all in all loved the video and I like the new rack
Thanks. My daughter uses all C-Serpent racks. I just started with these VE ones and love the flexibility of 3 different tub sizes per shelf. These are a bit sturdier than C-Serpents too, but the Cs are nice racks too.
You feed it across the top shelf inside the groove and out the other side, then back into the same hole but UNDER the shelf into the compartment below, pull it out the hole below and repeat.
Hi G, how you been? I have some questions for you The little strudy’s calcium caps where you put calcium to the baby geckos where did u buy them, After how many years do u recommend renewing your breeding geckos? Do you have any ventilation in the lid of the container where you breed the crickets besides the round ventilation in the side? In the setup where the crickets were born the temperature has to be also 85-90 degrees? To get the cricket setup temperature can I use a thermal heat pad? And how many watts you recommend How often is the substrate changed to the new born crickets and the adults?
Calcium caps are from Stroodies. They have an Etsy store. I think every gecko is a bit different, and we hold back around 10-15% of our babies each season. So we really don't have any females older than 4 right now. Just the round vents for crickets since they are in a rack and the self above is the lid. Any way you can keep crickets warm helps. They seem to breed best in the 85-90F range. I change the substrate after the tub in empty, which is usually 3-4 week. I rotate where I'm feeding from so that I have an empty tub every 3-4 weeks.
Were they good about sending you replacement bins and parts? I have cserpents and animal plastics. Love the animal plastics and was cheaper than cserpents just had to put together myself no biggie but took forever to get it. By my math if i went with v.e. id save a small amount of $$ all around and get it sooner. Ive got extra bins for a animal plastics so actually id come out cheaper geting rack from them and not having to purchase different bins but it down to 1 or the other. Faster and spend more for bins or save and wait forever and use my extra bins. Kinda like the 3 bin options for it. Doesnt look to have heat tape covers as other 2 companies but honestly wouldnt mind using this. Is it for your leopard geckos? I put holes all around in my other rack's bins so curiouse to just front holes on this one if your putting leos in it. Great vid btw
MY handy dandy assistant learned much from the joy and enthusiasm that yours did!
That’s awesome!!!
That’s right, tell’’em. Nice vid, thinking about buying a rack now.
Is that 3in or 4in tape?
I don’t recall. Check Reptile Basics website for specs.
Thank you for this video!! I’m replacing my heat tape and this helped me figure out how to do it RIGHT!! Appreciate it!
Thanks. Glad it helped out.

Great instructional video. Way to go. Look great. She looked thrilled :) Have you ever thought about the metal round vents?

@@LunaGeckos Nope. Do not. But was wondering if you did and how it worked for you. Every house is different.
Nice rack. Although you had to assemble it yourself, it looked very easy to do and was well-made.
I don’t get that compliment often. 🤣
They are well made. I now have 12 of them and have been very happy overall.

@@LunaGeckos no problem G thanks
so you double the heat tape and put them on top of each other on each shelf?? wont that double the heat on each shelf?
No. It goes across bottom of each shelf then down one side and across bottom on next shelf. Kinda like a zig zag all the way down.
You feed it across the top shelf inside the groove and out the other side, then back into the same hole but UNDER the shelf into the compartment below, pull it out the hole below and repeat.
