When Ward mentioned "the establishment," he was spot on. Look at Bill's cousin, Vincent Astor, in the US, and his friendship with FDR, another cousin. The Roosevelt and Astor... A search, today, will find it.
Christine Keeler passed away yesterday. With the death of Mandy Rice-Davis in 2014, all the key figures- Profumo, Ward, Macmillan, Ivanov, Rice-Davis and Keeler, are now gone.
I think everyone personally connected to the Profumo scandal suffered, particularly Stephen Ward. Mandy Rice-Davies did recover but always reflected upon 1963 with a degree of saddness and regret
This contradicts the excellent film 'Scandal' in several fundamental ways - e.g. the truth is that Stephen Ward wasn't 'recruited' by MI5 to entrap the Russian. Also, this film tacitly endorses the accusation that Ward was living off 'immoral earnings' - which he obviously wasn't - why would he need to, anyway? - he had a very lucrative practice. Ward just liked to 'play the game' - actually, several games concurrently - and the only really truthful thing this film says is that, tragically, he didn't really understand the 'rules' fully - the most important rule being that if the British upper class need to stamp on you to protect their reputation, they will, without mercy. Ward was a victim, just as Christine was, of appalling British upper class and 'establishment' hypocrisy, and went, innocent, to an untimely death - that was the REAL scandal.
What happened with Wartd's beautiful drawings ? His Sophia Loren portrait was very nice. Are they all in private hands or to be seen in a museum, anyone ?
In July 1963 Stephen Ward's notorious trial took place and to fund his defense Ward arranged for a picture sale at Museum Street Galleries, London. At a private sale before the public viewing, a lot of pictures were brought quickly by many of the embarrassed sitters. The so called royal pictures were all brought for cash, apparently it is said by Anthony Blunt (yes that Blunt) who was Surveyor of the Queen's Pictures. The speed of all the other sales revealed the wide circle of friends & clients that Stephen Ward had before they turn their back on him or were warned off as he was being framed by MI5 & Scotland Yard in the most disgraceful miscarriage of justice in the 20th century.
Awesome footage! Thank you for uploading. Don't like the casual contempt for Mandy and Christine throughout the whole thing. The air of ridicule about Christine for growing up in abject poverty. Caravan = Trailerpark. Oh yeah, Hyuk Hyuk. Mandy and Christine didn't make (up) that joint police statement simply because they were mad at Steven for thwarting their 1000 pound media deal. It was more complex than that. Sorry, rant over.
great part about this story is the ones truly responsible were never mentioned.. thats some pretty swift foot work when it comes to the art of plausible deniability.. well done Britain.. also funny how the most uninformed can be the biggest liability.. i feel like the girl never understood what was happening around her but reacted in such a way because of the nature of women.. "a woman scorned"
If I was set up then I would spill the beans whether I did time or not. The fact that he did not might indicate that he was simply guilty of the charges.
This was far more revealing than other documentaries on same case...interesting but not surprising...thank you.

I'm very sorry and sad Christine keeler had such a terrible and impoverished life after the scandal RIP 🙏

That maybe the case, but I don't think this story is going away, just look at what's being shown on BBC1. You couldn't really make this up!!!!
The details are still secret !!!!!!
May they all rest in peace.

You're very welcome. I used to love this sort of thing on Discovery. Cheers!
Ward was a scapegoat involving the royal family Prince Phillip name is mentioned with CK and MRD

Ward died to protect some big names...not least the Duke of Edingburgh.
Its alleged Prince Philip and Prince Bernhard had sex with Christine Keeler! Why do think some files are kept back for 70 years?
The swimming party was in July 1961, not 62.
brilliant, some footage i have not seen before....great upload. many thanks
I think Stephen ward knew to much and the government knew that as well feel sorry for Stephen
Excellent documentary that explains a lot but not all of the manipulation that MI5 used to cover up others who were involved.

There was a sale of his works after the trial.

All that ward stuff was lies,
Разведка у нас всегда работала - ХОРОШО 👍👍👍😂😂😂. Пеньковскому свое отвалилось все же. На каждую хитрую задницу всегда найдётся........
Was Ward murdered by MI5 ? He was going to spill ne beans .

Pimping is the new espionage in an age old game
