The Rollerball remake was really bad. The two things that really stuck out though were how small the arenas looked, considering there were still motorcycles trying to navigate around the tracks, and that really weird fully green motorcycle chase that just seemed like they shot it fully in infrared because they ran out of money to do proper lighting, as opposed to it being some cool point of view shot.
The original was a classic. slow moving at times, but brutal when the games were on and the social commentary was so on point.

I was working at a theatre when this movie came out. I honestly enjoy it. No, it's nothing like the original and it's not great on many levels where it potentially could have been. I like to think of it as a 2000's version of what a Cannon Films Sci-Fi/Action flick would have been like. I want to see a true uncut hard R release, but I know that's about as likely as finding a pristine copy of London After Midnight at this point. Look out for cameos not only from Pink and Slipknot, but also Paul Hayman as the Rollerball Announcer and a "blink and you miss it" one of Shane McMahon (son of former WWE owner Vince McMahon.)

All three of those “stinkers” were bangers. Casts excellent, stories varied and intriguing, atmospheric and engaging. And 13th Warrior was a Crichton flick that actually managed not to besmirch its source material. Now I don’t know if I even wanna watch this video with hot takes like those.

If time has proven anything, it’s that Chris Klein has no business being a leading man. He had two hits to start off his career, American Pie and Election, which was an amazing stroke of luck. And he was great in both. But he had small roles in both and played guys who were kind of naive and not the smartest. Once he tried to play stoic leading men, his struggles were apparent.

I am a big fan of the original Rollerball so I was intrigued by news of a remake. I was very disappointed by how it turned out. The remake entirely missed the point. The actual Rollerball wasn't the most important part of the original film, it was Jonathan E and his fight with the corporation. His fight against the odds for his own individuality was the backbone of the film. The 2004 remake was just an utter jumble with no real story behind it. The original is still the best and has as much to say about the world as it did in 1975, in nearly 50 years, some things never change.
