Omg this is my horse, dosent care about the whip, no respect. I'll be definitely following this one, ive been trampled and kicked, and lost confidence, this is a great video to learn from
I've lived by those 3 rules for years, it's kept me and my horses safe!
Yes....a horse must be respectful regardless of breed or size! From miniatures, shetlands clear up to draft breeds! Size should not be an issue....it can be done without being mean or using brute force...
Another nice horse with no real sense of what he should do and zero connection to who is asking to move. A horses disposition can really come out during this step in education! Some do not appreciate discipline.....that is when it can get western real quick! Another great video!
Great observation!
He’s been sitting in a pasture for six months unfortunately. Hoping his energy and work ethic returns!
Tim, your behavior assessments are so valuable! Thank you
This is one of my favourite videos you've done, I don't know why but I really like it. ❤
Good point about how we need to always be the one to ask them into our space. I think over time I have let that slide and now I am going to have to work on it again as I notice he is getting way too close on his own. With some horses I guess it is a lifelong battle to keep the boundaries established...
Great work. Thanks
Tim you do a good job with the horses 🐎 and cows 🐄 🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄or calefs he is a cute horse 🐎
He's beautiful!
Something I keep forgetting to do when I watch, is looking to see if they have an ear on you.
It's hard to remember everything to look for. I get focused on body language, and forget to watch the ears.
Thanks Tim
Your friendly neighborhood horse obsessed, non horse person 😊

Morning guys. Nice job,
thank you , what an amazing trainer my question is when to whip the horse if he is acting up
Always ask, tell, demand.
Very helpful
I've seen some people that continually crack the whip, even after the horse complies. (Lion tamers) The horse eventually become immune to the noise. Besides that he didn't have much work ethic, could that also be his background? Just wondering...
Great job, Mr Tim!!👏👏🫂
I don't think his immunity to the whip came that way.
He never really needed the whip much when I lunged him (mostly round pen work) so I don’t think he really understands its purpose. He was also trained to arm signals for stopping and slowing so I think he was a little confused at first.
I’ve got a mare that would pull the rope out of my hands and finally she turned in and charged at me. I am NOT a horse trainer by no stretch of the imagination- that scared me. I tried to pick up and keep working her but she’s give me that crazy eye and I KNOW she can sense my anxiety/fear. How can I move forward safely? I’m considering sending her to a trainer BUT I feel like the problem is likely ME, not her
You need a trainer that will work with the two of you together.
Your mentioning parents,is there things that in youth were problems? Do colts not put in pasture with other colts AND there MOTHERS have more problems?
Is there a bridle and bit in this horse's mouth
How is your missus doing? She ready to go out and cut and bale the back forty?😂
Breed? QH? Great rules! How old? He seems to be agreeable.
3 year old quarter horse
I wonder if he’s an Appendix QH
His mother is appendix and his sire is sire is foundation QH. Cow lines on top, barrel lines on bottom. :)
@@ShayBabs-ws6htThat’s awesome! 😄
