really country beautiful song!i remember with that song the days who go to my high school.awesome song really perfect! today theres no good country music.
Oh my...soooo love that and still wish I could have scooted with Rudy. Great fiddle too! Made miles and miles two stepping with my two stepping partner!!
Yeah! That's Paul Anastasio on fiddle in this video! Swing it, bruh!! (Paul & Johnny Gimble play fiddles on the record) Love the scenes in the video too with old "Rudy "single with a vengeance' (at the time) Gatlin" dancin' out there on the floor playin' the part of the cowboy! Ha!
Bob Willis? Can't go wrong with that. It does have the required ( by law ) fiddle and pedal steel guitar. All that's missing is " Take it away, Leon " .
Yeah, I know. He isn't credited on Asleep at the Wheel's 'Pasture Prime' album either. And he played on at least one Merle Haggard album he isn't credited for. Not sure why. Paul told me a little about it and Johnny confirmed that Paul played on those recordings with him. Might have been a union thing or something.
I think he may have been under contract with some record company that wouldn't allow him to record elsewhere. A lot of session guys did scab sessions over the years. Merle Travis was famous for it as well as Jimmy Bryant and Speedy West. They all refused to let Capitol Records keep them from recording with non-Capitol artists. :)
You just don't find harmony like this today
Wish they would bring back the old style of country music.
One of the best instrumental intros in country music EVER!
One of the greatest acts in classic country music
Their harmony is perfect
I love that fiddle and steel. I miss good music.
Love this clip ❤
I miss real country music so much.
Awesome song and video! VERY GOOD HARMONY ALSO! Lastly, a fun gal like that can steal my hat anytime!!
Larry is an AWESOME fingerpicking guitarist.
Little brother struck it rich!
Love it ❤

Larry Gatlin American eye icon sure put the good songs out there for all of us to enjoy
HIt #3 in Billboard, 10-20-84. God bless y'all, Gatlins!
They were still performing in Branson, Missouri the last I knew. Love their music. Thanks for posting.
They were in Frederick, MD 3/31/19. Killed it!
You damn right!
Oh my...soooo love that and still wish I could have scooted with Rudy. Great fiddle too! Made miles and miles two stepping with my two stepping partner!!
Happy birthday Larry! May 2nd.
Daaang, I forgot about this gem. Straight classic.
And little brother Rudy won out this time.
ACC's #46 song of '84. God bless ya, Gatlins! Thanx for postin' it. Have a blessed weekend!

I like the fiddle & steel gitar in this song ( A tribute to Bob Wills & the Texas Playboys?) At any rate, I dig it.
Three-part harmony, the likes of which only the Gatlins can provide. And, that pedal steel is a killer.
One of my favorite songs!?!
Their music is fun to play too.
Lucky little brother.
What I like about this song was it has a Bob WIlls sound to it.
Bob Willis? Can't go wrong with that. It does have the required ( by law ) fiddle and pedal steel guitar. All that's missing is " Take it away, Leon " .
Just needs twin fiddles
Best in - Honky-tonk!
Little brother struck it rich this time.
Gosh I miss you'll.
This, and " Houston " could be parts 1 and 2, or the A & B sides of a 45.
that actress... I feel I should know her name. I love the fiddle and steel.
WHO, is the cowgirl ? What a beauty!
Been trying to find out for years.
Thi ßong rocks
This is my mimis favorite song
Former Texas Playboy Johnny Gimble plays fiddle on this one.
Actually Steve, Paul Anastasio & Johnny Gimble play fiddles together on the recording but only Paul is in the video.
ChristianFreedude Only Johnny is credited on the album.

ChristianFreedude Thanks for setting the record straight.
I have a feeling that a lot of people did uncredited sessions, for whatever reason.
I wonder if the brothers fought over who played what role? I would have loved to seen that discussion.
Who is the beautiful Cowgirl ?? What is her name ??
Twin fiddles and a pedal steel guitar should be a law.
Who's the cutie that takes Rudy offscreen?
Sounds a bit like Houston though both songs are 4 years apart.
MIKECNW I have always thought that!
MIKECNW like A LOT!
@deloufu
'Deed it does!!!
The Lady looks a lot like a young Ann Margaret
I should really have ankle, foot, and connective tissue surgery, first, before doing a lot of dancing. Well, horizontal dancing I can do.
I hear ya, buddy! Hahahaa! It's the knee here...
the main actress looks just like Shelly West.

Leon Childs jr Ain't we all, my friend. Ain't we all.
