This video is awesome. I love watching stock jeeps do cool stuff like this, the Moab builds get old after ahwile. It's refreshing

Excellent video and nice job showing what a stock(ish) TJ is capable of offroad. Scott

1" spacer up front with longer shocks, 1" longer LCAs, and front sway bar removed. Rear suspension is stock. Tires are 31x10.5" on 15x8 wheels with 4" backspace.

Awesome vid. Thx for showing what a basically stock TJ can do.

Nice to see near-stock jeeps go offroading, rather than the usual $100k grotesque modded ones.

Nice video man, it kind of reminds me of my high school years messing around off road with my Jeep Wrangler (87 Wrangler). Anyway one piece of advise from an old timer; when going down a slope I see you tend to lock up your brakes. You are better off downshifting into a lower gear and allow your engine to slow you down. This will prevent your tires from locking up and sliding. This could prevent a potential roll over and you will look better doing it. Keep on Jeepin!

Hahahaha! Well I guess you got me there. Sticking up for your friend I guess. Nice shoot/edit job. I hate it when you click on a video and some dude has his friend, or his wife shoot the video and all they do is shoot the ground, the trees etc. cause their too busy yammering with someone. Or they don't have a clue when it comes to zooming or just plain holding the camera still. Anyway, yep, ya got me there. ;)

    a) This isn't me.
    b) The only time the brakes locked up in this video was when the tire lifted off the ground, any amount of braking will make a tire lock up when it isn't touching.
    c) We live in the mountains, good luck going down a 60 degree slope in any gear and not have to use the brakes to control your descent.
    d) We're not worried about rolling on such an easy trail.
    e) Happy Jeepin

He doesn't have a real lift, just a 1" spacer up front to level it out, extended LCAs in the front and longer front shocks. Tires are 31x10.5.

1/28/2013 - Most excellent video! Don't listen to "biggn235", he's an idiot. Every part of this video was cool. The part in the begining with the logs was kinda goofy, but ANYONE could see you were just messin around. "Fire Woman" is an oldie but still a goody, and your photographer did a good job too. I wish I knew where you were riding that day I'd like to check that place out. (If it's in California.) Thanks again dude.

I like the jeep vid. 31s are as tall as I want to go on mine since it's a dd.

Yeah 31s are a good balance for a DD/weekend wheeler.

+batty505 I like 33s as a daily. Im running 35s with a 6" lift on mine and it looks great and I like it. But it can definitley be a pain. Especially without side steps

Austin Gillam yeah it’s been awhile and I’m thinking eventually, maybe 33x10.50” but it would need a regear and a locker.

Haha, how am I an idiot? I shot/edited the video and the Jeep belongs to my friend. And this was in the mountains of NC, not close to Cali at all.

Did you do any modification to this jeep or is it just stock with different tires

Would a 90s Jeep Wrangler make a decent 1st car??

Terrell Booker If you have some money it wouldn't be bad at all. Mine doesn't get more than 15MPG so unless I'm heading out to the desert I drive my car.

I drive an 87 and I'm a sophomore. It's got the 4.2 L (258 cu) and the 3 speed auto (sadly). It's a great first vehicle. Especially if your kid is a jeep fanatic like me. I highly recommend a wrangler of any year. Yj's are a great start. They make you appreciate all the modern conveniences....such as air conditioning, coil suspension, (for me) a working radio, and fuel injection. Carbs are really nice because they're just so easy to work on. The more basic the better. Jeep is the way to go.
