  • Air plants, also known as Tillandsia originate from Mexico and South America. They are not only rather unusual and exotic looking but are a great way to add interest to your home.
Leading air plant supplier, Andy’s Air Plants will be at this year’s RHS Hampton Court Palace Gardening Festival showcasing their fabulous range of Tillandsia and other Bromeliads which you will be able to purchase.

They grow wild in Guatemala, even in the cities, and from May to October it rains a couple of hours every day, then the sun comes out and everything dries up. Then three cool dry months, followed by three hot dry months, then rains again, three months hot and wet, three months cool and wet. Bromelias bloom and crowd branches, and become so heavy the November winds bring them down...they are picked up by people to decorate Nativities in December, then tucked back onto trees. I wish it were as easy for us to import English roses over here. Enjoy!

Interesting video. I’m a bit puzzled about watering as the information given suggests immersion. I really wanted to know how they live in the wild and I’m guessing the don’t detach themselves and go for a dip 😂. Surely, a daily mist would be better?

one second is long enough. You can also just mist them.
