Neville so seriously underrated. Once we learned his dark secret he instantly became my favorite. He is the bravest and most loyal character in the entire series. With the only exceptions of Dumbledore and Snape, Neville also carries the largest emotional scars. His parents were brave and famous Aurors, but were all but beaten to death in the first war - ever since Neville has been at their hospital beds, with them not even knowing who he is anymore. That has to be horrible and heart breaking for any child. But Neville soldiers on, not telling anyone his secret or about his great parents. Not until the very end he shows his strength when he is the only one to stand up against Voldemort, face to face, staring down his entire army.
The line that I thought while reading this was “He had the idea that Snape disliked him. After potions class, he found out that he was wrong. He didn’t dislike him, he hated him.”
Snape defeated the best magician in history. No, of course, Dumbledore defeated him and did not forget that this was not the first big wizard defeated by Dumbledore. He defeated Grindelod, of course. He was the greatest personality and was followed by Lord Vordemort for her amaizing magical achievements
SEVERUS SNAPE is my fave character. He was intelligent, powerful, mysterious, complicated and intriguing. Definitely the most complex of all the HP characters. 💚
Beil_ Bell - Neville’s greatest fear wasn’t Snape. Boggarts form into what they THINK will scare you. Coming from a boy who’s been thrown out a window and had his parents tortured into insanity, it makes no sense. It’s likely because he was still thinking about it after coming from potions class. Severus was mean to Harry because of his spy work. & tell me which characters have had their ONLY friend die? Can’t recall any.
@@BeilBellOnline Sirius was literally ostracized by his family and came from an abusive household that were blood purists, but didnt go down a dark path. James Potter wad also a good person.

I always loved Professor Snape. I mean he sacrificed everything for a woman that would never love him back and then when she was ripped from him he chose to fight back instead of wallow in his grief. To me he was everything a Slytherin should strive to be. That is why I never understood Lily Potter. I mean I respected her, she was a powerful and incredibly smart witch but I never understood her. She chose to marry a man who segregated, humiliated and degrade those he feared and envied. He was a boy given everything and from it fashioned nothing. She chose the man that loved her on the bases that he couldn’t control her instead of the man that loved her simply because she was her. Professor Snape may have been a Slytherin and may have made mistakes but he always loved her. She turned her back on that because of peer pressure and a overbearing bully. She and her husband tore down that name of Gryffindor and all it stood for but Professor Snape broke free of the close minded box given to the Slytherins. He was BRAVE enough to show his love, CHIVALROUS enough to let her go when she chose another and COURAGEOUS enough to fight back against the madman that killed her. This was all on top of being resourceful, cunning, ambition, determined, clever, powerful and helping to lead he next generation of wizards & witches into a world full of fear and death. Professor Snape is my HERO.
A lot of people are saying that Harry should have been lower but he is the epitome of what is good. Every decision he makes is selfless and he always puts others before himself but he stands up for himself relentlessly. He was brought up not knowing his parents and the closest thing he had to a father was killed just two years after they met. He walked for miles to give up his life in order to save the wizarding world and we see him put himself in danger countless times just so that others don't come to harm. He is a very powerful wizard (not just for his age) and with the help of his friends (who's lives he has saved countless times) he defeats the most powerful and dangerous wizard in the world. He single handedly buries an elf without using magic out of love and respect. In the process of fighting off and escaping from about 15 of the most dangerous dark wizards in the world he opts to take more time in his escape in order to take his fallen comrade back to his father. He did what was supposed to be impossible when he broke into Gringotts and escaped on a fucking dragon. He plays quidditch to an international standard. He became the master of the elder wand, used it to repair his old wand and then snapped it in half. By the way he did all of this before his 18th birthday. Then as an adult he went back in time and oversaw his parents death for the greater good. He is the perfect human being and I don't think there could be many complaints if he was number 1. But I think Snape is still the right choice because he suffered almost all of his life and the one thing that kept him going was unconditional love.
***** Ohhhh what a spoiler to me.... it will be heartbreaking....!!!! ps: I'm used to spoilers.... spoiler!!!!!!!!! I know about time turner spoiler....
NEVILLE SHOULD BE MORE THAN AN HONORABLE MENTION! His past is almost more tragic than harry since he has to carry the burden of it his entire life he was brave he was willing to stand up for what he believed in and he was even a potential candidate for the chosen one! NEVILLE FTW!
I'm probably in a minority of this, but Harry Potter would be much lower down in my list. Behind characters such a Snape, Voldemort and Dumbledore. His character is built up based on so many other, more interesting, characters, such as the 3 I mentioned. Arguments can be made for others, but Snape, Voldemort and Dumbledore are easily the top 3 in this universe.
When i stopped to think Harry wouldn`t be in my top 10 at all. Harry is not really an interesting character, which is very common with `chosen` characters. I never found him really interesting, he is a blank hero. The world is the greates `character` of the franchise though., it is what won me over.
See I would agree with Snape and Dumbledore but Voldemort is pretty much a wizard version the Emperor from Star Wars. Not that im bad mouthing Voldemort but lets face it....old, pale skin complexion, superiority complex, wants to rule.....we have all seen it before
For a second when I saw that Harry Potter was only at #2 I thought that it was kind of sacrilege not having him at #1. Then I saw who #1 was and I couldn't agree more. I had almost completely forgotten about Snape. When you guys said that you were focusing on the more well developed characters it only makes sense for Snape to be #1. I remember watching the first several Harry Potter movies and finding Snape to be a one note villain to Harry, but then I saw Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part II where, in what was probably my favorite scene from any Harry Potter movie, Harry looks through Snape's memories where it's revealed throughout his life that there was more complexity to him and that he was really an unsung hero who had to make hard choices that he hated for Harry's own wellbeing. I found it only appropriate that one of Harry's sons was named after him. A fitting tribute.
D-Lux What I really like is that Harry could say that Snape "is the bravest man he'd ever knew"... And also, not mentioned in the movie, but to honor him more Harry also made sure that Snape pictures was hung in the Headmaster's office besides every other Headmasters (after all, he did become a headmaster for a while, right?)
That is why they say that J.K Rowling wrote a greater love story in one chapter than Stephanie Mayer in four books. (Since the scene your talking about is one chapter called The Prince's tale in the Deathly Hallows)
"I could waste away the hours just sniffing at the flowers and pick it if I chose though it might get kinda snotty I would be an evil hottie if I only had a nose..." -Voldemort (to the tune of "If I Only Had a Brain") Your post made me do it.
Severus Snape’s true character serves as a great lesson for all fans and critics alike: never judge a book by it’s cover, which is what some fans in the world are sorely lacking in keeping themselves from doing towards anything nowadays.
Sirius Black's death was the only one that made me cry in the entire series. A truly tragic hero. To have his best friends die and then to be accused of causing their deaths. Locked away for over a decade in a mad house. He is able to escape and be reunited with Harry, giving them both the familial comfort and connection they both lacked only to have it ripped away. It was heartbreaking.
True, but i think that Snape is even more tragic. He loved Harrys mother which marrys the guy who was always bullying him in school. Then both of them were murdered and he found her body. Then he has to serve under the man who killed her. Even tho he wasnt "nice" to harry and Ron i think it is understandable, because he always gets reminded when he sees Harry and his Eyes. He also let Dumbledore swear that he wont say anything to Harry because he wouldnt be able to deal with it. And at the end he gets killed by the man who killed his love, even tho he was dying he gave Harry his tear to show him the truth and his past. So yeah Snape deserves to be number 1.
Basti Cramer mine are 1. Sirius Black 2. Minerva Mcgonnagol 3. Albus Dumbledore 4. Fred and George 5. Severus Snape 6. Neville Longbottom 7. Remus Lupin 8. Ron Weasley 9. Harry Potter 10. Hermione Granger
I will never forgive Bellatrix She killed Sirius I cry at no other death but his as I reread the books YOU HAD ONE JOB, SIRIUS, AND YOU LEFT THE HOUSE. LOOK WHERE THAT GOT YOU
Kelly Seebeck She said, quote, "NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH!" in all caps. In the book. How elegant of J K xD Seriously though, Molly was boss for rekting Bella like that
Every character, even the small ones, are so so good. All major characters and secondary characters are extremely complex and interesting. This is a hard list to make! JK Rowling is a genius. That is all.
No other book series, movie franchise or cast of characters could ever make me feel like I do when I read the H.P books or watch the H.P movies. I was the same age as the cast when the first movie came out and I grew up reading about their adventures and watching them on screen. Nothing could ever replace them in my heart! I plan to pass on my books and movies to my kids one day because I truly believe nothing could ever come close to the magical experience of Harry Potter...
She is a very good character indeed. However looking at the list who could she replace? Personally I would still prefer even Dobby to be on there than her. The HP series just has so many good characters
Sorry but Neville should have ranked on this list at least SOMEWHERE! He was probably the character that grew the most throughout the stories. He was a bit of a wimp at the beginning, but at the end he grew into a hero in his own right. He killed Nagini for heavens sake! He lead the 'revolution' within the school when Harry wasn't there in their last year. He so deserved a ranking. >_<
My favourite characters are chosen based how much are interesting. I don't care if they are evil, good or gray. And the two most interesting characters are Dumbledore and Tom Riddle (Snape is close to them): A lot of people who have read the Harry Potter novels despise Voldemort because he is so evil, but I love how in depth Rowling went to make him as evil as he is. To start off with, Voldemort wasn't always Voldemort. He used to be known as Tom Riddle. Riddle's mother was a witch who came from a poor family who abused her, and she found a man named Tom Riddle to be extremely handsome. Voldemort's mother, Merope, made a love potion so that Tom Riddle would drink it and be infatuated with her. They ended up moving away together and Merope became pregnant with Riddle's son who would later be named Tom Marvolo Riddle. Merope eventually stopped feeding Riddle Sr. the potion, and he was frightened by Merope, so he ran away while she was pregnant. During childbirth, Merope had passed away. The abandonment of Voldemort's father, growing up without a mother, and living in an orphanage, caused Tom to become distant from everyone else. As Tom Riddle grew up, he had become powerful, manipulative, charming, and cunning. He never wanted any friends, he was never in love with anyone, and he was perfectly fine with being alone. As time grew on, Riddle was becoming who he would later be known as Lord Voldemort. The meaning behind the soul in the novels is quite deep. The fact that a person who grew up without any parents had become so distant from society that he was willing to tear apart his soul, his entire identity, into 7 parts in order to become an entirely different person. Not only did his personality change, but so did his structure. Voldemort changed physically, but never changed mentally. He still stood being as wicked as he was, and was unable to even feel any sort of guilt for all he had done. I am so fascinated with Voldemort because his character is so deep. Rowling went above and beyond at giving each character in her novels their own personalities that are far beyond just a description--she includes their history as well. Voldemort may be an immoral character that one should loath in the Harry Potter novels, but I think that without knowing his background, and without Voldemort being who he is, the novels would not be nearly as well written, and as captivating as they are. About Dumbledore, well, how can you not love a camp grey wizard who eats sherbet lemons and welcomes students back to school with the words, "There is a time for speech-making. This is not it."? Dumbledore's funny. He's unorthodox. However, it's not Dumbledore's sense of style or humour, his batty approach to teaching or his intelligence that make him my favourite character with Tom. It's his bad points that I like so much. Snape turned out to be capable of love, but Dumbledore turned out to be capable of sin - and that revelation was by far the more moving of the two. The old headmaster is worthy of our admiration as a benevolent champion of muggles, but he becomes worthy of something far deeper when we realise that he champions muggles out of remorse for past wrongdoings. When we're told the full extent of his sins with Grindelwald, Dumbledore steps down from his magical throne, throws off his robes of midnight blue, and joins we muggles as someone flawed, human - and worthy of our love. In short, by the end of the series, Dumbledore becomes real. Snape does too, turning from a sneering sallow-face to a complex man capable of great love and sacrifice. But, for me, showing the reader that a villain has good points is far less interesting (and far less brave a decision by Rowling) than revealing that one of her heroes was capable of making such grave mistakes.
Amazing, I'm also fascinated by Lord Voldermort's. He's by far the most interesting villain of all the books I've read and movies I've watched. I'd love to see a series of books or movie purely based on Voldemort's life. The technicalities behind him being so evil are so interesting.
I find this list ron in a few ways. Both Neville and Luna deserve more then honorable mentions. Here are my reasons: Luna: Luna is wonderfully odd, so few take her siriusly. However, she is important to the plot. Multiple times she saves the day.Harry even has a child named after her (Lily LUNA Potter). She proves that it's okay to be weird. She's incredibly lonely, and some of her only friends forget about her at times. However, she's kind. The first time she meets Dobby, she calls him sir, not even realizing that that isn't a thing. Also, she lost her mother, so she can relate to Harry. Neville: Let's start this off with a big thing. His parent's minds are gone. Bellatriz crucio'd them to insanity! In my mind, though Harry's situation is terrible, Neville's is worse. He still has parents, however, they don't recognize him. It must break him to see these people that are his parents simply not there. The candy wrapper scene? Draco bullied him. He showed character development
To insane levels. He started as a little boy who was sort of a loser to the babeilicious (he is my bae) man who slated the giant snake known as Nagini. Wow much?
Well actually Nevilles parents do recognise him cause she manages to give him sweet wrappers ... But it must be hard to see them in the state they are. :(
I'm very surprised that Draco Malfoy wasn't even an honorable mention. It's not that I'm a Draco fangirl or anything, but Draco had a very obvious development over the course of the series, giving him more layers than Dobby or Hagrid, who are on this list. (Don't get me wrong, I love the both of them.) Especially... *SPOILERS* ...his breakdown through the course of the final three movies. He turned from a irritating know-it-all rival to someone who was scared, broken, and didn't want to be "bad" anymore like he had wanted as a kid. He realized the gravity of the situation he was in, and it drove him to utter panic. He had to watch people murdered in front of him, and realize that his father was a coward who wouldn't save him. I think he at least should have been an honorable mention.
If he was in it a bit more, then definitely. He had a great introduction and great death, but was only in one scene in the Goblet of Fire (I think he only had one in the book, not sure).
I don't understand why. I don't hate Sirius but he always seemed like a bit of a prick to me. He was a bully in the only flashback we see and we know he tried to play that 'prank' on Snape which had the likely outcome of getting his friend expelled or a fellow student killed. Or both. After Azkaban he always seemed a little off. I think the experience put a serious strain on his sanity. I'm not trying to be a prick or hate on you favorite character I'm just genuinely curious why you like him.
Based on character depth, uniqueness, mystery, importance, relatability, likeability and having their own story within the story I'd go: 1. Severus Snape 2. Neville Longbottom 3. Harry Potter 4. Albus Dumbledore 5. Fred and George Weasley 6. Luna Lovegood 7. Draco Malfoy 8. Minerva McGonagall 9. Remus Lupin 10. Sirius Black I left out Ron and Hermione because whilst they are important to the story, they are basic characters in my opinion. Hermione is really intelligent and vrave but several other characters match that and have more layers to their character such as Snape, McGonagall and Dumbledore. Ron is above average talent-wise, a bit thick, has a short fuse and he is loyal, he gets the edge over Hermione because he has to overcome the natural insecurity that comes from having such a high-achieving yet poor family - it is also not explained why he is poor. I went for Fred an George over Ron and Hermione because they show things that other characters simply do not. It is easy to write an intelligent character like Hermione because you just give her the correct answers, if you say she is intelligent then she is. However, writing a funny character is complex, if your jokes are not funny then neither are your "funny" characters and Fred and George make you laugh out loud as you read. Furthermore, they show the difference between smarts and intelligence in an inspiring way. They are intelligent characters that didn't apply themselves to things that they didn't see importance, they worked smart, not hard and as a result they made themselves a lot of money and became very successful business men. They made sacrifices showing bravery and Fred's death is one of the saddest moments in the series and shows the damage that war does to families.
My top 10: 1.Harry Potter ( many flaws but he's kind, loyal, brave, clever and forgiving) 2. Hermione Granger ( Intelligent, badass witch and a great friend. Not really perfect but in my pov, she's the role model for every girls) 3. Severus Snape ( strict, rough but initially, he has a kind heart, very loyal and willing to sacrilfice) 4. Albus Dumbledore ( powerful, helps the trio a lot and great sense of justice, best headmaster ever) 5. Sidius Black ( can be hot-tempered but he's surely a badass, a true friend and great courage) 6. Ron Weasley ( not smart at Hermione or the chosen one like harry but the series would never be complete without him. He's kind, caring, loyal and funny) 7. Minerva Mcgonagall ( serious but understanding, supportive and powerful) 8. Remus Lupin ( kind, loyal, caring, brave, best werewolf) 9. Molly Weasley ( baddass mom) 10. Fred and George ( funny and courageous)
My Top 10 1. Draco Malfoy 2. Luna Lovegood 3. Severus Snape 4. Bellatrix Lestrange 5. Minerva McGonagall 6. Dobby 7. Ron Weasley 8. Lucius Malfoy 9. Sirius Black 10. Tom Riddle/Voldemort
10. Ron Weasley (Harry's Wacky Friend) 9. Bellatrix Lestrange (Tim Burton's Evil Gothic Witch Wife) 8. Molly Weasley (No one defeats the mommy) 7. Fred & George Weasleys (Magic Pranksters of Hogwarts) 6. Sirius Black (EVERYONE!!! Loves Oldman) 5. Albus Dumbledore (Fantasy Mentor like Gandalf & Obi-Wan Kenobi) 4. Harry Potter (Badass Fantasy Protagonist) and... 1. Professor Severus Snape (a.k.a Pro. Hans Gruber)
Me too, he had this mentor figure to Harry that nobody else really had. Yet he still told Harry his mistakes and reprimanded him for it and assumed his position as a teacher. Despite his low screen time, he left a big impact. Plus he’s a freakn werewolf.
@@blu-jay6451 he is the resson the harry potter saga came to life think about it,if he had not been a werewolf then james and sirius wouldn't have such a strong bond of trust with peter and remus and they wouldnt have been the marauders and they wont be animagi, preventing sirius to escape from azkaban or stopping peter from framing sirius OR james not giving the job of secret keeper to peter in the first place. and other than that the trio wouldnt have had the marauders map, that could be a really big change since the map had been alot of help in some situations
In my opinion Draco isn't really evil.. he was forced, and had no choise, i know it doesn't mean he isn't, but i still think Draco is actually just nice, and you'll always see in the movies he doesn't like things he is forced to do..
i think Draco deserved a place . he was a deep character that was showed broken in the last books and movies . the boy who had no choice that in the end made the right choices and decided for himself. he is my favorite character
I agree mostly, though I would change the last three. It should be 3. Potter, 2. Snape and 1. Dumbledore. There are various reasons why I think Dumbledore should be at number 1: 1. He is the greatest wizard in the world and of all time. Even Voldemort is scared of him. 2. He is the only wizard to have won the Elder Wand without an accident and when the current owner was alive, in a duel. 3. He is the real hero: he orchestrates the whole show without claiming any credit for his role. He is the one who finds out about the horcruxes (through Potter and Slughorn). He destroys a few of them and creates situations where Harry, Hermione, Ron and Neville can destroy the rest of them. 4. He fights two of the greatest duels in history. The one with Grindelwald happens when Grindelwald has the Elder Wand. The one with Voldemort happens when Voldemort is at the height of his power since return, is much younger, has no morals to abide by, and is duelling in the presence of all the dark wizards where as Dumbledore is old and ageing, alone and bound by morals. The only reason Voldemort could survive this duel was because Voldemort cowardly hid within Potter. 5. He is not greedy. He is the most capable person to be the Minister for Magic, yet he chooses not to be. Were he greedy, being as powerful as he is, he could have taken over the world, but he chooses not to. 6. He is selfless. Not only do we see this through the previous point of his lack of greed, we also understand that he sacrificed his reputation for the righteousness. He sacrificed his own life to allow Snape to get close to Voldemort and be able to save Potter. The only reason Snape could become the hero he did was because Dumbledore made him so, at the cost of his own life. 7. Dumbledore is mysterious and doesn't offer explanations or justifications.
No, he didn't win it in a duel. Dumbledore let Malfoy beat him. But the wand was buried with Dumbledore and later taken by Voldemort. In between, Harry beat Malfoy when Malfoy didn't have the wand. So, though Harry won the Elder Wand, he won it by defeating Malfoy when he didn't have the wand. So it was not difficult for him at all.
I agree with the list's first place role. Yes...Dumbledore is far more powerful a wizard, but Snape was far more interesting and dynamic in his role within the series as a whole (both in the books and in the movies). To say the least, Dumbledore acted exactly as you would expect. Even up to the very end of the books, I had no idea Snape was going to turn out to be a good guy. I thought Dumbledore had that one wrong. To boot...Snape was so effective as a double agent...it makes you wonder about every single aspect of his interaction with Harry throughout the whole series. BUT...I do believe Granger deserved the #2 spot. I truly believe she was the linch-pin in the trio, certainly the primary reason Harry was a formidable wizard in the first place.
Harmeet Singh Walia I agree with all those you've said. But, in the term of interesting and twist ending for a character's trait, no one can beat Snape. From all of the people, he's the one that Harry hated the most, but in the end he named his son after him (and also Dumbledore) and can call him "The bravest man he'd ever knew"... And in the term of sacrifical, I think Snape is not inferior to Dumbledore. Yes, Dumbledore sacrificed his own life, but it was because he would have died by the curse nonetheless, so why not making it included in the plan? Besides... Dying is not easy, but living with a sin and hated by almost everyone you're just trying to help is harder... So for me... Dumbledore maybe is the greatest wizard of all time, not only in the term of power but for all those things you've mentioned, but Snape is the most interesting one.
D. Travis North If you look at interesting alone, Snape would certainly come out as more interesting. One must however not forget that Dumbledore is interesting enough too. The fact that he never truly reveals what he sees in the Mirror of Erised, that he chose not to become the Minister of Magic, et cetera, show the interesting side of him. So combining the great magic skills, and some interesting facts about his character, one could put him at the top of this list. About Hermione, now that you've mentioned it, I actually agree that she is not only technically the best witch (or wizard), but also the facts that her character transforms from a bookish nerd to a more rounded one, and that she made greater sacrifices than any other student, when she erased herself from the memory of her parents (to me, the toughest thing to do for any child) should be reasonably enough to grant her a higher position in this list than Harry.
Alan Rickman(Snape)is probably the best actor in the series along with Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix) but my top 10 are (books) 10.Sirius Black 9.Severus Snape 8.Luna Lovegood 7.Albus Dumbledore 6.Draco Malfoy 5.Profesor Mcgongal 4.Ron Weasley 3.Ginny Weasley 2.Hermoine Granger 1.Harry Potter (The series wouldnt exist without him...)
...bitch please, Neville would have been the main protagonist without Potter in the picture! Just kidding! Though Harry Potter is a great protagonist, one of the best I've ever seen, haha!
yeah he liked Cho but the plan was to kind of make him jealous by Ginny dating other girls, Im sure he probably had feelings for her from the beginning but it grew through the movies
Why is Ginny not on here? She was possessed by Voldemort for the better part of a year at age ELEVEN. She grew out of her fangirl crush on Harry and learned that waiting around for him wouldn't help anyone, so she moved on. She grew up with six older siblings, all of them boys, and she was damn tough because of that and could hold her own. Remember her sneaking into their broom shed and taking their brooms at the age of 6 to teach herself how to fly? Then, after the trauma of being possessed by Voldemort, she fought to move on with absolutely no help that we know of (even if her parents had talked to her about it, we don't actually see anybody else really caring that an eleven year old was possessed, forced to try to murder several people and then walk to her own death) and became a tough witch who took no shit from anybody else. Her famous Bat Bogey Hex, anyone? And standing up for Luna in Transfiguration? And in the end, she got the guy through being herself and refusing to wait around and simper over him like his other fangirls. She didn't change herself to attract Harry; she changed herself from the age of eleven for HERSELF. She's damn tough and I refuse to accept otherwise.
She's my fav character in the books haha (with Hermione, Sirius, Harry, Dumbledore and Kingsley, depending on the page, coz that book is just amazing). But I thought they didn't portray her well enough in the movies... That scene where she kisses Harry in the books is awesome, she's "blazing" and "fierce" etc, but it's so damn cheesy in the movies...
I aggree with Ginny not beeing on this list. She goes from a damsel in distress to someone along for the ride who doesen't do a thing. Had she gotten to kill Voldemort (she should have) then she would be on this list.
I feel like this wasn’t a very good list, at least not the order. I would’ve done 1. Harry Potter 2. Lord Voldemort 3. Albus Dumbledore 4. Hermione Granger 5. Ron Weasley 6. Severus Snape 7. Draco Malfoy 8. Rubeus Hagrid 9. Ginny Weasley 10. Sirius Black *Honorable Mentions* - McGonagall, - Dobby, - Neville Longbottom, - Bellatrix Lestrange
I like that guy Remus I loved how his identity Is a secret until close to the end of the movie and such but I'm glad Sirius black is their tho but Remus should be on the list
My top 10 list: 10. Albus Dumbledore 9. Tonks 8. Hedwig 7. Draco Malfoy 6. Sirius Black 5. Ron Weasley 4. Luna Lovegood 3. Hermione Granger 2. Harry Pottah Honorable mentions: Minerva (idk how you type her last name xD) Fred and George and Neville Longbottom 1. Severus Snape 0. DOBBY!!!!😍😍🥰🥰💖💖😭🥺😇😊
Unpopular opinion: Snape doesn't deserve #1 on my list. I don't give a shit about whatever he had with Lily Evans. For me it doesn't excuse how he treated his students.
Snaps totall deserved #1! In the end, he really was the bravest character in the series, and who really cares how he treated students, he was really just trying to protect harry the whole time.
Exactly! Thank you. He has been a rude, mean pain in the ass from day one and just because we see 20 minutes of his life, we're expected to have all that washed away and sympathize? Sorry, no. He only protected Harry because he HAD to; not because he wanted to. Huge difference.
Yes he was a dick to everyone except the Slytherin kids. I'm sorry, but 6 and 1/2 books of tormenting everyone in his classes overrides him being shown as a hero in the last 10 chapters of the final book for me.
Voldemort: Knock knock.
You: Who's there?
Voldemort: You know
You: You know who?
Voldemort: Exactly

The Lazy Vlogger And Gamer lol
I didn't get it at first but I got the second time
Neville so seriously underrated.
Same. I

But Molly's line was one of the best in the series: "Not my daughter you BITCH!"
feck that dobby should win hes a bad ass!
Actually, Bellatrix Lestrange sent Neville's parent's insane and they have ever since resided at St. Mungo's.
The first words harry said about snape: who is that
The last words : the bravest man I ever knew
And he was a Slytherin
The line that I thought while reading this was
“He had the idea that Snape disliked him. After potions class, he found out that he was wrong. He didn’t dislike him, he hated him.”
@@arcticangel1628 are you dumb or something he was literally the first on the list
Without a doubt, Snape is the most complex character of the Series. He deserves the number one spot.
Noel Prateek yes he should have been number 1
Yassss
Snape's also overrated 😒
Touhou Fan yes he is somewhat overrated but it is mostly because of his complexity
Snape defeated the best magician in history. No, of course, Dumbledore defeated him and did not forget that this was not the first big wizard defeated by Dumbledore. He defeated Grindelod, of course. He was the greatest personality and was followed by Lord Vordemort for her amaizing magical achievements
Maybe the reason Voldemort has no nose is because he ran into the wrong brick wall at the train station...
Its because of the horacrauxes
Craze the Blaze LOL
Megan Tran Its because of the snake venom mixed with unicorn blood that he consumed while in his rudimentary body form
Thanks for the info. I just thought it might be the reason
Craze the Blaze thanks for it and CornyTelecaster49 what does rudimentary mean?

Luna Lovegood YOU’RE IN MY TOP TEN
You is 3 after snape and hagrid to me
SEVERUS SNAPE is my fave character. He was intelligent, powerful, mysterious, complicated and intriguing. Definitely the most complex of all the HP characters. 💚
I like Remus Lupin more than Snape, he at least was a fun person to be around
@@BeilBellOnline wasn't that because if Voldemort could read Harry's mind, he would think Snape was so loyal to him that Harry hated Snape so much?
Anne • Me too
Beil_ Bell - Neville’s greatest fear wasn’t Snape.

All that and no reply haha
Ya, lil

hell yes
Way to long!!
Harry: we've got something that Voldemort doesn't have
Ron: yeah
Harry: hair
And noses
Noses
Good looks
Noses and good looks
Hair, noses, and good looks
:) I didn't either :)

I concur.
When i stopped to think Harry wouldn`t be in my top 10 at all. Harry is not really an interesting character, which is very common with `chosen` characters. I never found him really interesting, he is a blank hero. The world is the greates `character` of the franchise though., it is what won me over.
As I said in other comment, Harry is Luke (who is not an interesting character AT ALL) without a lightsaber and you can't go wrong with a lightsaber
TheKkxkkx you could re write the book without harry potter, and still will be as good as it is now.
See I would agree with Snape and Dumbledore but Voldemort is pretty much a wizard version the Emperor from Star Wars. Not that im bad mouthing Voldemort but lets face it....old, pale skin complexion, superiority complex, wants to rule.....we have all seen it before
I haven't watched this video but I believe that Snape topped the list
great guess he did!
OF COURSE
I hope not
He di d! And he deserved it!
he did, and it is great!
TsubasaNoAkutenshi Yeah he was headmaster for a year.
TsubasaNoAkutenshi He also named one of his son's after him, "Albus Severus Potter".
That is why they say that J.K Rowling wrote a greater love story in one chapter than Stephanie Mayer in four books. (Since the scene your talking about is one chapter called The Prince's tale in the Deathly Hallows)
"I've got one thing that Voldemort doesn't have." I thought he was gonna say "A nose"xD
"I could waste away the hours
just sniffing at the flowers
and pick it if I chose
though it might get kinda snotty
I would be an evil hottie
if I only had a nose..."
-Voldemort (to the tune of "If I Only Had a Brain")
Your post made me do it.
happychaosofthenorth Brilliant!
That was a good one.
Haha ikr
You definitely didn't watch the movies xD

Every character, even the small ones, are so so good. All major characters and secondary characters are extremely complex and interesting. This is a hard list to make! JK Rowling is a genius. That is all.
I personally think that Minerva should've gotten a higher rank on this list, as she is loyal, smart, strict but kind, and wonderfully badass
Hagrid as well
So true! She is amazing :D
They should've shown the scene where minerva was shooting fire out of her wand at Snape, that scene was crazy!

I was the same age as the cast when the first movie came out and I grew up reading about their adventures and watching them on screen. Nothing could ever replace them in my heart! Not only in end he was great from the beginning.
Exactly! Severus Snape is the most interesting character. My favorite ever 💚💚💚(and 2nd character I like is Lupin 🐺💜)
Bellatrix should be on the list. Absolutely
Omg I hate her so much...
Ahahahah! I love her!
She is a very good character indeed. However looking at the list who could she replace? Personally I would still prefer even Dobby to be on there than her. The HP series just has so many good characters
How the hell di Hagrid make the list, and not Bellatrix! >-
Bella Black because Hagrid is awesome! and belletrix just wants to kill everybody!
my top 10
1) Snape
2) Sirius Black
3) Hermione
4) Luna
5) Fred and George
6) Lupin
7) Lily Potter
8) Author
9) Harry
10) Ron
Where da fucks Bellatrix and why the hell have u got lily potter for?
agree with you
+Abdul Mahmood lool he put lily potter and Author and left out bellatrix and Mad eye moody
Why fred&george and why Arthur
Hagrid?
Sorry but Neville should have ranked on this list at least SOMEWHERE! He was probably the character that grew the most throughout the stories. He was a bit of a wimp at the beginning, but at the end he grew into a hero in his own right. He killed Nagini for heavens sake! He lead the 'revolution' within the school when Harry wasn't there in their last year. He so deserved a ranking. >_<
agree neville is one of the most important characters
True that
So true he is defiantly in my top five!
Neville is a BAMF!
Yeah, Dobby can go screw his mother, give Neville a spot.
My favourite characters are chosen based how much are interesting. I don't care if they are evil, good or gray. And the two most interesting characters are Dumbledore and Tom Riddle (Snape is close to them):
A lot of people who have read the Harry Potter novels despise Voldemort because he is so evil, but I love how in depth Rowling went to make him as evil as he is.
Woooooooow you were bored?
He is the best character in the series 100%
How'd you have the time to write that?
Amazing, I'm also fascinated by Lord Voldermort's. He's by far the most interesting villain of all the books I've read and movies I've watched. I'd love to see a series of books or movie purely based on Voldemort's life. The technicalities behind him being so evil are so interesting.
Did you just waste time writing back stories about character lmao, still cool though
I find this list ron in a few ways. Both Neville and Luna deserve more then honorable mentions. Here are my reasons:
Luna: Luna is wonderfully odd, so few take her siriusly.
Wow much?
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS!!!!
+Jane Kaspar same
Well actually Nevilles parents do recognise him cause she manages to give him sweet wrappers ... But it must be hard to see them in the state they are. :(
You've got too much time on your hands...
*SPOILERS*
...his breakdown through the course of the final three movies.
You forgot to mention that he was extremely hot.
Kelsey Iuliano yes XD
Pretty sure they leaved him from the list for getting some hate and comments -> more views to this video -> more money to them
Sirius Black will always be my #1 Harry Potter character.
100 % agreed
Same here
If he was in it a bit more, then definitely. He had a great introduction and great death, but was only in one scene in the Goblet of Fire (I think he only had one in the book, not sure).
Severus>Sirius
I don't understand why. I don't hate Sirius but he always seemed like a bit of a prick to me. He was a bully in the only flashback we see and we know he tried to play that 'prank' on Snape which had the likely outcome of getting his friend expelled or a fellow student killed. Or both. After Azkaban he always seemed a little off. I think the experience put a serious strain on his sanity. I'm not trying to be a prick or hate on you favorite character I'm just genuinely curious why you like him.
Neville Longbotton is my favorite ( the most dynamic character of whole saga)
Based on character depth, uniqueness, mystery, importance, relatability, likeability and having their own story within the story I'd go:
1. Severus Snape
2. Neville Longbottom
3. Harry Potter
4. Albus Dumbledore
5. Fred and George Weasley
6. Luna Lovegood
7. Draco Malfoy
8. Minerva McGonagall
9. Remus Lupin
10. Sirius Black
I left out Ron and Hermione because whilst they are important to the story, they are basic characters in my opinion.
Fantastic list. Your reasoning behind it is gold.
voldemort should be under snape in terms of mystery
That sounds like a very Hermione-ish reasoning
this kid's a nerd
@@vivaanjai.n Who ?
My top 10: 1.Harry Potter ( many flaws but he's kind, loyal, brave, clever and forgiving)
2. Hermione Granger ( Intelligent, badass witch and a great friend. Not really perfect but in my pov, she's the role model for every girls)
3. Severus Snape ( strict, rough but initially, he has a kind heart, very loyal and willing to sacrilfice)
4. Albus Dumbledore ( powerful, helps the trio a lot and great sense of justice, best headmaster ever)
5. Sidius Black ( can be hot-tempered but he's surely a badass, a true friend and great courage)
6. Ron Weasley ( not smart at Hermione or the chosen one like harry but the series would never be complete without him. He's kind, caring, loyal and funny)
7. Minerva Mcgonagall ( serious but understanding, supportive and powerful)
8. Remus Lupin ( kind, loyal, caring, brave, best werewolf)
9. Molly Weasley ( baddass mom)
10. Fred and George ( funny and courageous)
việt kahnh phạm lê badass mom made me laugh

2. Harry Potter (Badass Fantasy Protagonist)
and...
1. Professor Severus Snape (a.k.a Pro. Hans Gruber)
I don't know why but my second favorite character, after Harry Potter, is Remus Lupin.
Me too, he had this mentor figure to Harry that nobody else really had. Yet he still told Harry his mistakes and reprimanded him for it and assumed his position as a teacher. Despite his low screen time, he left a big impact. Plus he’s a freakn werewolf.
@@blu-jay6451 he is the resson the harry potter saga came to life
think about it,if he had not been a werewolf then james and sirius wouldn't have such a strong bond of trust with peter and remus and they wouldnt have been the marauders and they wont be animagi, preventing sirius to escape from azkaban or stopping peter from framing sirius OR james not giving the job of secret keeper to peter in the first place. and other than that the trio wouldnt have had the marauders map, that could be a really big change since the map had been alot of help in some situations
Draco? no Draco? My father will hear about this!
They ranked they in skills and power and popularity. Not evil
In my opinion Draco isn't really evil.. he was forced, and had no choise, i know it doesn't mean he isn't, but i still think Draco is actually just nice, and you'll always see in the movies he doesn't like things he is forced to do..
+Midna I agree with u
No Draco(i didn't watch the video yet)?! Shit. Not gonna watch this.
Yep..
i think Draco deserved a place . he was a deep character that was showed broken in the last books and movies . the boy who had no choice that in the end made the right choices and decided for himself. he is my favorite character
same
No f*** him. He WAS annoying scared bully
thanks
Professor Lupin isn't on the list? My father will hear about this
Haha awesome reference
He gets a honourable mention at least!

Snape is one of the most if not the most complicated fictional character ever made
I don't think of Snape as a villain. I think he was more of an anti-hero.
+sesshyandenvyfreak
That's what most people think as well (or should)
Shape is on Dumbledores side
+teacherman901 WatchMojo apparently doesn't think so
+sesshyandenvyfreak snape is so brave and is truly amazing (my favourite character)

Noah Burkett yay
Severus snape is definitely my best fictional character in the whole series. He's got his own touch that you can't forget .
I agree mostly, though I would change the last three. It should be 3. Potter, 2. Snape and 1. Dumbledore.
There are various reasons why I think Dumbledore should be at number 1:
Forgot harry potter he also won it in a duel
5.Voldemort
4.Ron Weasley
3.Harry Potter
2.Hermione Granger
1.Severus Snape
Xxk455xX harry is better though
What about Mad-Eye?

My favourite ones were Peeves, Winky and Ludo Bumfolt. Unfortunately those who have never ever read the books don't know who they are. :P
If you'd read the books, you would know that Ludo's last name is Bagman, not this bumfolt bullshit. out with you, heretic.
Sorry, I'm hungarian, and in the hungarian books it is Ludo Bumfolt. :P I didn't know that it is not the same in english.
Oh. Never mind, i apologise. Come back to the fold, heretic.
I know Peeves because I play Harry Potter and the "Sorcerer's" Stone on GBA. Other than that, don't know much about him.

1.Harry Potter (The series wouldnt exist without him...)
...bitch please, Neville would have been the main protagonist without Potter in the picture!
Just kidding! Though Harry Potter is a great protagonist, one of the best I've ever seen, haha!
***** though she became powerful, thats how she destroyed the department of Mysteries
She always liked Harry, Hermione gave her an idea to be with someone else and then harry would realize that he liked her
yeah he liked Cho but the plan was to kind of make him jealous by Ginny dating other girls, Im sure he probably had feelings for her from the beginning but it grew through the movies

If Harry is number one I'm gonna be mad
Thank you guys so much for this list, my favourite character made the top of the list. You guys are the best.
CarrionCarriesOn me too
Why is Ginny not on here?
She's damn tough and I refuse to accept otherwise.
pandafeels yessss
She's my fav character in the books haha (with Hermione, Sirius, Harry, Dumbledore and Kingsley, depending on the page, coz that book is just amazing). But I thought they didn't portray her well enough in the movies...
That scene where she kisses Harry in the books is awesome, she's "blazing" and "fierce" etc, but it's so damn cheesy in the movies...
Movie Ginny is a potato. Book Ginny is amazing.
Lol, you nailed it haha
I aggree with Ginny not beeing on this list. She goes from a damsel in distress to someone along for the ride who doesen't do a thing. Had she gotten to kill Voldemort (she should have) then she would be on this list.

WHERE IS REMUS LUPIN!!!!!
Huge difference.
roedhunt Yes, he was a rude, mean pain in the ass from day one. But when we found out his backstory, every action of his became entirely different
Yes he was a dick to everyone except the Slytherin kids. I'm sorry, but 6 and 1/2 books of tormenting everyone in his classes overrides him being shown as a hero in the last 10 chapters of the final book for me.
He was the only well-rounded character in the entire saga.
