Bhairavgad fort trek - Difficult climb in western ghats. One of Maharashtra's toughest treks is the one to Bhairavgad Fort. It is something that every experienced trekker has on their bucket list. The Sahyadri mountains of the Indian state of Maharashtra are where the Bhairavgad fort is situated.
In Maharashtra, there are 6 Bhairavgad Forts located at different locations. Out of them one is Moroshicha Bhairavgad. Moroshi is a small village located very close to Malshej Ghat. It is situated at an altitude of 3756 ft from sea level.
Why is Bhairavgad famous?
Standing tall in Koyananagar region, Bhairavgad is a gigantic fort that is believed to be 2500 years old. Long back, the fort was gently fallen into ruins, the reasons of which is not known. It is situated in the middle of the dense forest called Kalsubai-Harishchandragad Wildlife Sanctuary.
