Hi! My name is Chessie and I am 28 years old. I started sewing in 2024 and I absolutely love it. I use a Singer Heavy Duty Sewing Machine and nearly all my supplies is secondhand. I'm very passionate about vintage fabrics. I get all my thread and fabric from estate sales, thrift stores, eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, or Facebook Marketplace. It's definitely a commitment and not super convenient but I'm committed making this sewing hobby and my small business as sustainable as possible! Subscribe to my channel to keep up with my sewing journey :)

Thank you all for being here! Good luck to everyone who is participating!
Chessie, it was SUCH a pleasure meeting you. While I loved seeing and getting my hands on a couple of your beautiful creations - which by the way, ALL have a place (each making daily tasks all that more enjoyable!), connecting with you in person, one of many creators on here that brightens my day, was the highlight. It is amazing and lovely how these platforms can connect people from across the globe, from different spaces and lives. It’s a unique and special time we live in and I’m here for it.
I’m happy you had such a positive experience in Brooklyn and are kind enough to share your journey along the way. Keep going, keep doing, keep creating, in the ways that give light as you want to your life. It helps us all.
Cheers! 🎉
Thank you again for coming to the pop-up! Meeting you really was the best part of my day. This is a unique time we’re living in and experiences like this really remind you that there’s still so much love and connection in this world☺️
Yay! I’m so happy your pop up went well! I also love that you found a community where they appreciate your work and the idea behind giving old fabric a new life. I despise the negative connotation people have with 2nd hand things, hopefully that will change over time and it becomes more accepted.
Thank you!! I agree - people act like you can’t wash things! Or that their new garments haven’t also been touched by dozens of hands before it gets to them!
So happy for your success, love all your items and the idea of vintage fabric finds, as well as sustainable. I think the casserole pad is my favorite.
Thank you very much💗
i’m a long time subscriber but haven’t seen your videos in a while!! i’m so happy to see you and both items are so cute!!
(lurker as well with occasional comments lol)
Thank you!! I’m happy you’re still here! I took about a year off UA-cam after losing interest in beauty/makeup but found a new passion for sewing🥰 I always loved filming and editing and also the community I built here of course. I’m just really happy I was able to pivot interests here and still have some of my old subscribers watch my new stuff! So thank you❤️
@ so happy for you! and from the looks of it, you’re killin it so great job!! ❤️
Hi, I used to watch your make up videos and I found your channel again randomly. I hope this new venture goes well for you

i love this!! 🥹 so happy for you, Chessie! 🫶🏻 watching you over the years find a true passion in sewing and turning it into something like this has been so inspiring. seeing you create unique pieces that people can use in their everyday lives (including myself-I love my tote and keychain!🧸) makes me so happy and proud of u 🫶🏻🤍✨
also i love both of those items, especially the hot pad! i didn’t know something like that existed - it’s super cute & seems super convenient when cooking 🥘🥧
It’s seriously been the coolest experience and it means the absolute world to me that you’ve been here since nearly the beginning! Even through this big change from makeup to sewing. It’s really special to me.
I feel very proud of you as well. I love watching you create your own community on TikTok and being able to keep up with you there😍
Thank you, Maya!!
@ 🥹🫶🏻🫶🏻
Really enjoying your videos. I love both items but especially the potholder 😎 Adventures with Onyx

Awww I really appreciate that🥹
Really happy you are finding success!
Thank you!🥰
I’m new to your channel, and think you are so inspirational!
I’m really glad you’re here!!🥰
Thank you for sharing your experience!
I’m happy to! Thanks for watching!
@ ❤️
either one, both are really cute.
I'm glad it went well! I do markets regularly and they can be hit or miss, but I like trying new things to see if I'll attract my target audience.
I think that’s a big thing I’ll take away is just to be prepared to evolve and try new stuff. Does trying new things for you mean new product/inventory or new displays and marketing?
Super happy for you🤗
Thank you so much! It means a lot🥰
Love the hot pad!
The hot pad is the perfect size❤
You did an amazing job with your items....all very cute vintage material. I would love to have your potholder....😊
Thank you🥰
I’m a new subscriber of yours. I do markets as well. I would like to get the hot pad. I loved your video! Tfs Jen in south dakota

Love hot pad 🥰
Love it! Love the hot pad. Newbie on here and IG
7:32 Wait, really? I find that so odd 😅
Ok I'm hormonal rn, but whatever, I'm actually crying for you that the subscriber went! That's so beautiful 🥹💖
I'm happy the pop-up did so well!!
lol yes! The image of someone setting an item back down after I shared that I use secondhand fabric is ingrained in my brain😅 it was good to know though because I just need to be more aware of who my audience is.
Also you are so sweet🥹 it was a super special moment.
I’m glad you had a great experience at your pop up. I do a lot of markets from March through December. Would love a hot pad. They are very nice. dlhemm_designs
That’s really fun! Do you sell online as well?
Wishing you a fun and successful business, enjoy watching your videos. Any of the items would be useful for me Ania_rui
Thank you very much! Also I haven’t forgotten about your custom order… I’m waiting on a shipment of fabric labels that are taking longer than expected😭 anyway, I’m glad you’re here!
