A ciné film rescued from a skip. Sound and picture quality not so good but worth saving.

Man, if only the museum had this many locomotives in it today.

It's amazing to think that the museum use to look like that. Does anyone remember going to the NRM when it was like that?

It’s beautiful to see this invaluable old footage of York as it was in it’s glory days. I love GER No. 87; such an unconventional but beautiful design, as well as Hardwicke, Columbine and all the other locos the museum that are no longer there.

I know the chap in the chaldron behind the Locomotion replica (3:37). Derek Reeves was Traction Maintenance Engineer for the region (the DME's number two) and was volunteered to keep time- sounds simple but she has no brakes or speedo'. They arrived ten seconds early.
I think that's Derwent at 4:20. Locomotion ran in the 1925 parade but was pushed along by an electric motor with rags burning in the chimney. Derwent's little younger so I'd guess this was the same arrangement.
