In this world of generic Hollywood crap, A24 really is a breath of fresh air. Keep doing what you are doing A24.
before A24 was an independent studio, now they're a major film studio that specifically does movies that can be considered art films or Oscar worthy films
Agreed. Literally, all of their trailers and films are not only unique, but look to be shot differently.
Ever bother watching the "generic crap" or are you content with mindlessly saying it sucks to suit your needs of pretention?
MJ Red I’m guessing you like generic crap
The legend 27
I’m saying that the same people who talk like this don’t usually watch the movies they speak of to see any good elements. They just shallowly go “another superhero movie” or “mind-numbing cash grab”. Not all films have to be or can be thought-provoking masterpieces. Especially if you mostly use them to put yourself on some high ground.
A24 is the master of trailers
This trailer can be considered it's own movie from how unique it is. A24 is genius.
A24 are Masters of Film.
100% agreed! In the age of trailers giving away practically everything, A24 gives you just enough!
@@gregorybowe9383 indeed, especially the horror genre
@@romangunter621 You are so right sir. I found A24 when I saw "The Witch". I've followed them ever since. I've gone back and watched every horror film they've been involved in. I think they understand that horror is much more than slasher movies. Some of the world's greatest writers wrote masterpieces in this trivialized genre. And some horror films can be true works of art.
A24 is becoming my favourite production house 😍
Them and Blumhouse take awesome risks, even if it's good or bad I love these risks especially when they pay off. :)
They're more of a distributor, but yeah still great
Ayanabh Paul me too. And blumehouse
They're just distributor. They don't necessarily finance the productions of these movies.
Join the club of... everyone already.
You know it's going to be good when they have their own A24 logo animation.
I was excited from that moment.
Good thing to know.
Mid 90s had its own logo and it was a pretty weak film
@@greenkidd529 well I beg to disagree because Sunny's acting is really great and Jonah's direction was good as well
Looks wicked and wild. I tried watching it on Tubi a little bit ago. But my reception was kind of bad. WWJD ✝
I will call my first son A24.
That's more of a daughter's name though...
@@maximumoccupancy The alternative would be Annapurna.

What happened to the other 23
@@mister-monkeyman All daughters. I threw them off the cliff.
we are truly in a horror film renaissance. this looks great.
Ryan Garber What are some other recent or recent-ish horror films that you enjoyed? Some of the ones that I liked off the top of my head are “The Witch”, Hereditary”, “Suspiria”, “The Ritual”, “Us”, “A Quiet Place” and the reboot of Stephen King’s “It”.
Justice J. Srisuk “Mother!” (I liked it) “Get Out” “Climax”
Justice J. Srisuk Gerald’s Game (Stephen King) on Netflix
“The Last Shift” “Don’t Breath” off the top of my head that aren’t already mentioned
Ryan Garber I can tell you it will blow you away, every frame is phenomenal you can’t keep your eyes off. I was privileged to see it at it’s US premiere at fantastic fest and it was the only film I saw. Only film I needed to see.
Some David Lynch shit. Nice. A24 just keeps on climbing.
That's what I thought!!! holy thought I was the only one
Naw. It may be great and all. But David lynch is magic and only he can pull it off. Inspiration for sure.
This looks slightly hilarious but also fascinating. Very mid-seventies horror
With some grindhouse flair.
I don't see this as hilarious. Perhaps you don't see something I do? Idk.
It's definitely ridiculous
@@samuelw01 And scary
@@samuelw01 "The Warshing Machine went Bananas."
Saw this at a TIFF screening last September, and this trailer embodies the film EXACTLY. I'm soooo glad this is getting a wide release because it was definitely one of the better films that year.
Be honest, any good?
@@L3athaface Very good...but very different. I wouldn't go in there expecting an "Insidious" type film... definitely more of a 70's vibe campy horror film.
@@THEANDREGRANT thank you
This is why I love A24. No way would this film get made by most other major studios.
A24 doesn't actually make these films. They buy them from other studios
Of course. Who’d buy a film about a haunted dress?
I can never look at mannequins, sponge baths or managers the same after this film.
* saw it at AFI Fest back in November. This is one of A24's most visually arresting releases.
Saw it! Loved it! It was a wee too long, but it is a lovingly-crafted homage to Giallo films of the 1970s. Dario Argento should be proud. The sound design and even the design of the department store logo and TV ad are brilliant (all Strickland's work, apparently). This is Peter Strickland's film, but you can sense Ben Wheatley's influence on the style and humor, as he is a producer.
It's just wow! Looks like Suspiria and Inland Empire together)
Theo , that is too perfect of a combo
I was thinking the same thing! Can’t wait for this!
Theo TOTALLY got Suspiria vibes from this, especially the beginning!
suspiria is very good .nice thriller movie
Seen it at AFI Fest in November 2018, and I’ll tell you that there’s a bassline in the soundtrack that I still remember how it goes.
How does it go?
Cavern of Antimatter 🖤
A horror film about a killer dress? I'm in!
Raffy Rillo reminds me a bit of the Asian horror film the Red Shoes 👠
@@Jprager I remember that movie, it was really good. The movie was based on a folklore of the same name.
Liberalshinigami yessss
It reminds me of a book that I read called Prom Dress by Lael Littke.
I saw this at my local film festival in March and in all honesty it was one of the best comedy horrors I’ve seen in a long ass time.
I don’t know who edited that trailer, but he deserves some kind of award.
Suspiria 3: The Killer Dress
it does remind me of Suspiria
Lmfao so true! but in my thoughts More like Suspiria 4. They already made Suspiria 3 with the meh ok Mother of Tears. The kills where cool the style was cheese and overall lacking which made Suspiria and it's sequel Inferno stood out.
What is Suspiria 2??
@@jarenxP Dario Argento's Inferno is a sequel to the original 1977 Suspiria and Mother of Tears completes the trilogy.
Saw it last night, and it is far weirder than Suspiria.
This looks like a giallo version of Lost Highway. Awesome. And I can’t wait to see Midsommar, either.
I thought the same. It reminds me of Susperia era Argento meets David Lynch.
Absolute pleb, this looks like schlock but you contrarians will gobble it up
Mister Monkeyman I like the way it looks. Stay miserable.
@@mister-monkeyman || ur opinion is immediately invalid when you say "pleb" unironically
Sold! Also so glad to see Marianne Jean-Baptiste as a lead!
ikr! love her since secrets & lies
Y’all taking phantom thread to a whole new level
Hausu ♥
This is what I thought Phantom Thread was going to be like, just from its title lol. And while I loved PT, In Fabric filled that mysterious dress void that I was weirdly expecting from PT before I saw it
Me: 'This looks a lot like a Duke of Burg-'
*From the director of The Duke of Burgundy
Fantastic one. Loved her story, the visual aesthetic, synth horror, dress is fabulous, and the Dept lady is alluring/creepy in the best way. Can’t stop thinking about it. Well done!
This movie was goddamn genius. Every second of the film just fills your eyes with beautiful shots and terrifies you with it’s eerie music score and etheric vibes.
This looks amazing and hilarious! The Duke of Burgundy was a masterpiece and Berberian Sound Studio was great too. Cannot wait, I wish there were more films like this made these days. Thanks again, A24, there are many of us who appreciate this kind of thing.
Peter Strickland is an Genius all these experiment movies are awesome
"The hesitation in your voice, soon to be an echo in the recesses of the spheres of retail" Holy shit, I am using that the next time somebody is lost finding something in Target
Ha!😁
LMFAOO
This is like a darker version of an R.L Stein story but I’m living for it 😂
if A24 had produced suspiria with Luca it would have been absolutely perfect. only A24 could have improved on perfection
At least A24 wouldn't have screwed its release schedule up like Amazon.
Suspiria was absolutely perfect the way it was
Defunct na agreed that the movie is amazing and great but I think it’s extremely underrated, knowing that it’s a reimagining of a well-known classic Suspiria. I think A24 would do a better job at marketing the movie.
A24 is on fire with these movies! This looks really promising.
One of those A24 films no one really talks about but it’s something that stuck with me after all this time.
This is gonna be big. You go A24, love your stuff.
Sadly it seems like this movie isn't talked about much. Great movie tho!
I saw that a local indie theater was showing this film, saw it had a high Metacritic score, went in blind... I want more experiences like this. I have now seen The Duke of Burgundy and Berberian Sound Studio, and I CANNOT wait for what Peter Strickland has in store next! Fucking love this film
There's a reason A24 posts their name on the titles... THEY HAVE AMAZING FILMS.
Also, the best trailers.
They bought it.
"Lynch and Argento" I'm here for it
Who would have ever thought someone would ever make a movie about a killer dress.
Buying has never been so dangerous and stores have never been so diabolical. Loved the movie!
A24 needs to start a subscription service I'd literally subscribe to it because these movies aren't regular Hollywood crap and it's nice to see more and more people watch these types of things.
This trailer is more of a Suspiria remake then the actual Suspiria remake
Nobody wanted the Suspiria Remake to be like the original. Did not want to relive that horrible Psycho shot by shot remake all over again. It was great as it’s own film.
FuxinJibran calm down man, I was just stating what my take on it was. I fucking love the Suspiria remake (it was my favorite movie of last year by far, and it’s in my top 3 of all time), and I dislike the original Suspiria. I’m simply saying this looks (ironically) much more like the original then the remake does
Seriously though; I drove an hour away to see it in theaters, stayed home from school to watch it the day it came out on VOD, have a 24x36 poster of it in my room, and my phone case is literally a Suspiria poster. Words can’t describe how much I love that movie
Caleb Smith dude same here! I went to the LA premiere and got it on VOD ASAP. My first tattoo i got recently is even dedicated to the remake.
I’m glad you like it because for some reason, fans were mad it was different.
FuxinJibran damn that’s awesome that you got to go to the premiere, so damn lucky. And if I ever get a tattoo there’s a decent chance it’ll be from this film (probably the dripping “S” that was the teaser poster).
Feels like a stephen king or yorgos lanthimos movie and that's a good thing.
You are more correct than you realize. This movie is practically taking the plot of Stephen Kings Needful Things and condensing it down to just one item.
Google a book called "Prom Dress" by Lael Littke. I read it in the 5th grade, this movie has a similar plot as the book.
Haven't seen a film that memorable in quite a while, a breath of fresh air!
perfectly said
Brightburn: if Superman was evil
In Fabric: if The Cloak of Levitation was evil
Loved Marianne Jean-Baptiste in Secrer and Lies and her TV Shows, glad to watch her in a TV role

“In Leather” a sequel about killer bondage gear
Gwendoline Christie that I see to deserve a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars 2020 and all awards season this 2019
I just watched a trailer about a killer dress that gave me goosebumps...
I’m watching this movie, right now, interesting art film with a vintage backdrop. It’s a great movie.
me: casually checking out movie
a24: the hesitation in your voice soon to be an echo in the recesses of retail
AW man, Maryanne Jean Baptiste: she was so wonderful for Mike Leigh in 'Secrets and Lies' I wondered when we'd see her in something high-profile again.
A24 really is the best studio out there these days. Just such an antidote to this dreary Disney crapola.
MARIANNE JEAN- BAPTISTE IS LEGEND☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆❤❤❤❤🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Peter Strickland is the master of New Giallo.
Thank you, A24.
The motif of the "killer dress/poison dress" has been in our culture since the stories of Medea and Nessus in Greek mythology. I am interested to see what strange and interesting take this film will bring to the idea.
Genius director, truly visionary. For those who remember "Berberian Sound Studio", this chap just keeps getting better and better.
Thanks for exist , A24!!
You are saving the horror movies in the last years!!🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏼🙏🏻
Marianne Jean-Baptiste could make a feature film every day, and I'd still see them all. This looks fab.
What a beast of a movie, a near 2 hour soundtrack
In my TOP 3 films of last year - can't wait to see this again
Wait, you've seen this?
@@ethanjohn7638 Yes - last October at the London Film Festival
@@threadthelightuk1850 oh wow, super cool. Hope it lives up to expectations
This movie was just so great, had that retro camp feel that’s mostly absent from most films these days. Proves that the old horror movie tropes it’s harking back to really knew how to spook the viewer. I love what A24 has done to modern cinema!

looks like a trippy 80s b movie and mean that in the best way possible
Just saw this little masterpiece...Wow. As a huge fan of Argento, this film came as a very needed treat.I was only this pleased when first seeing Suspria, and Requiem for a Dream .There are films, and then..well...eh
Watched this movie today, 12/11/21. Pretty good & very different take for a horror movie. 👍🏾👍🏾 The black lady in the first story should've known something was off just by how the way the sales clerk was talking to her. I was like damn, a simple yes or no will do just fine. 😂😅
this movie was awesome. everything from the concept, to set design, to music, to cinematography, right down to the beautiful & twisted language used by Miss Luckmoore.
A24 doesn’t make most of these movies. They just buy them for distribution. Either way, they’re pretty good at what they do.
After five years of waiting this movie is finally streaming on Amazon.
Dying for a lighthouse trailer
when you are making a piece of cloth menacing you know you have done a good job
Sasha Velour would have fitted this movie right in.
This looks delightful. Always excited to see what Peter Strickland is doing.
This film looks gorgeous! Love the Argento aesthetic. Can't wait to see it.
What a great trailer! I wish the actual film was this fast paced
At first I thought the premise was silly but then again so is a production of hamlet acted by cats.
Definitely looking forward to this. A24 hasn’t disappointed yet
when I first saw In Fabric even I was impressed with it. The idea of a cursed red dress lit me up to it. I wonder if In Fabric is going to have an original sequel but who were store clerks of the store that's alway been a mystery and thier bizarre commercial. All I know just the mystery around them makes u ask questions
YEESSS A24 COME THROUGH WITH THE CREATIVITY
Just saw the film early and I promise it doesn't disappoint. If the trailer interests you, then by all means WATCH THIS MOVIE! Equal parts stylistic, scary, and even at times funny!
Miss Luckmoore (the creepy yet intriguing store clerk) has some quotes on the film that are just brilliant: "Dimensions and proportions transcend the prisms of our measurements."
If my girl ever ask me to go shopping with her for a nice dress, I’m showing her this trailer EVERY SINGLE TIME. I’ve had enough!
A24 getting ready to make movie history again
You guys are literally the best!
This looks sooo good I am stoked for it I am absolutely loving the 70’s vibes majorly
I just purchased and watched this movie, and, barring many long moments of nothing happening, it had a pretty unsettling, spooky atmosphere, brilliant discord, and some really surreal moments.
Overall, the experience was worth the price of purchase; but honestly the best part of the movie was the soundtrack.
Those 1970's vibes
Just saw this - amazing!
ive never been more terrified of my collection of t shirts until now

Where can I watch this? Is it on any streaming service?
"I would like you to announce the numbers if your telephone" I laughed
So....when is the US release date? I can't find this ANYWHERE!!
Woah. This wasn’t even on my radar of A24 movies, but now I’m pumped!
