Hi Terry! Chicago here. The peppers on the beef sandwich are called Giardiniera. Mixture of hot peppers, carrots and cauliflower in oil. The peppers on the hot dog are called Sport peppers and the bright green stuff is relish. Thanks for all the great vlogs !

@@BarefootVlogger The relish is sweet and the pickle spear is dill. Back in the 80s the Portillos near me(Villa Park) put a couple cucumber slices on the dog as well. So 3 forms of cuke on the same dog lol. How did you make it to portillos and not get either a piece of lemon cake or a chocolate cake shake? Next time try the polish dog with grilled onions and yellow mustard. Cheers.

Funny Murch, I knew I was gonna hit both Portillos and White Castle on this trip but had no idea where either was. Driving to the hotel I'm like wow I can walk there! lol.
I could not believe how much food you got for under $50, the amount of food you got would cost us about $70 over here in Australia, we are being ripped off, it made my mouth water😂😊❤

Portillos in Gurnee, Illinois was nonstop traffic at the drive up window and even though I enjoyed their food, my go to place was Big Norms which was a smaller place but faster service plus their Philly cheesesteak and hotdogs were a lot tastier 👍 Thanks for this trip down memory lane…

My favorite Portillos it makes me miss Orlando!!! We have one in Tampa but it’s not that exciting as it is in Orlando. They have fantastic fries!!!!

Great job Terry! I’m glad that you enjoyed Portillo’s…Before Dick Portillo cashed out in 2014, the food was even better than it is now - As I commented in your other video, they serve one of the best dogs (and Polish) in this town but there are better Italian Beefs to be had (along with REAL fresh cut fries). Svetlana is a real trooper, Cheers!

All I can say is "it's a beautiful thing" I love that kinda food brother. Glad you all enjoyed it. And by the way I forgot to mention I was a hot dog vendor at a major university and the students etc. from Chicago said that my 'Chicago dog' was better than what they were raised on in 'shy town' Chicago. What a compliment , I had the best customers.

Eaten at two different Portillo’s in the Indianapolis area and was not impressed either time. I’m sure I will try it again.
The hot dogs were ok, but the Italian Beef is the star of that show. Not sure if that's what you had but mine was amazing.

Being from Chicago and Italian Beef being my favorite meal I must say Portillos is Very over rated!!! 1st off their fries are decent but they need Fresh cut fries to be considered good or great!! As for their beef. It is Maybe 4th best is Chicago with Al's being number 1 by far. Portillos does a great job of setting up cool locations and a great menu but food could be better. I have their burgers or hot dogs when I eat there even though Italian Beef is my favorite meal. So you do the math. I have been eating beefs all over Chicago for over 50 years. Whatever you do do not try the Chicago style Italian beef at Capones in Hollywood, FL because it is some of the worst I have had anywhere

@@BarefootVlogger You will not regret it!! Al's Beef and their fries are top notch. Have to go to the original in Little Italy for lunch. Then you can hit the original Unos on Ohio for dinner. Check out North Ave Beach as well!! Then you have the Sears Tower with the glass floor and endless other things!!
