Here are all the medical schools I applied to, and which ones I was accepted and rejected at. The application process to med school was difficult, but I know you can do it, and that you will become fantastic doctors.

This really just shows how competitive it is to get into med school. You had great stats and extracurricular activities but was rejected from so many schools. However, the most important thing to remember is that you only need one school to say yes. Congratulations future doctor!

I just don't understand when we are in dire need of doctors/medical professionals, yet we deny amazing prospects like yourself. Congrats!

It's Congress's fault not funding more residency positions.
The lead up to Kaiser with the smile and hope followed by the rapid and sudden “DENIED” got me 😂😂😂 but in all seriousness, Iowa is a great school, they’re lucky to have you and the other schools missed out! I love the optimism and humor! Good luck moving forward brother!

thanks for sharing so openly about your journey! i have almost identical stats and list as you, minus the schools you actually got into - which makes me a bit nervous now. reconsidering my list, should probably add more schools (im at 28).

Hi Brian. What are some of the aspects that attracted you to Iowa’s program? Would love to see a video/get your thoughts on why you chose Iowa, what you liked, and whether any preconceived thoughts about the school, either good or bad, were confirmed when you visited to interview.

schools applied, 30 secondaries, 3 interviews, 1 acceptance off the WL for RFU, the rest didn’t want me. Geezum!

Why did you read my mind at 2:15 ?? Like I do care about all you’ve done and I’m very impressed but it also isn’t the most important thing to me too hahahaaha, either way, huge congratulations on getting into med school! I’m trying to make my voyage now too!
This may be a dumb question but before transferring I attended a school that had a grade scale of A,B,C rather than A, A-, B+, B, B- and basically in actuality my grades in 2 of the classes were B+ but based off the school grade scale it was labeled a B. When calculating my GPA would I be able to consider it a B+ or have to go with what they labeled it on paper (B) ?
I have higher stats but nowhere near the amount of extracurricular activities😭 wish I could forfeit some of my gpa for more hours.

My son got interviews and acceptances with some great med schools including some top 20 where he ended up attending this year. He got virtually no love from the CA schools he applied to and we are in-state(4.0 GPA/522MCAT ORM). If we had it to do all over again we would have skipped applying to all of the California public schools and applied to more OOS private colleges.
Yes the CA schools are not very loving haha
@@doctorsurfer7640 To be fair, he was waitlisted at a couple and he wouldn’t have chose either after the scholarship that he received at a T10 private. I’m sure they realized that.
