Fantastic work David! I can see the fascination with that design, it has the "high voltage insulator" look to it as well.

I can see why it may have appealed to people back then, but these day it wouldn't get a look in for style! However, It looks wonderful now after its polish and buff up. An excellent job David. When I first saw it I thought "Why is he bothering with that ugly thing" but now it looks a lot better, however, it is not to my taste and the wife would throw it out! But it looks very good now.

That's a beauty. I am completely awed by you patience with the Kriesler badge and I'm so glad it was rewarded - it ended up looking perfect. I was particularly pleased you put a textile cable on the radio as well - I remember visiting my Granny's as a child and all her old appliances and light fittings had textile cables and they really do evoke the era.

Hi Dave, Beautifully done again,as usual. Making the KRISLER badge was a great effort, and all your video's are full of GREAT IDEAS. And many thanks for getting me started. I have just restored a Hotpoint Y56DE [ AWA ]. My dad bought it in 1954/55, and as a kid I would listen radio serials, [Tarzan, Biggles etc.] It's bee sitting around my place for 25 years, since dad passed away. It is now fully restored & takes pride of place in my Ham Shack

Bravo David: I for one most certainly enjoyed this restoration series. The reproduction Kreisler badge looks as though it is original ...it goes to show what can be achieved with determination and perseverance, and this radio looks, and performs first class. As for restoring the electronics, I wouldn’t expect anything less than what you did for this little radio. It really is a credit to you. Thank you for sharing.

What weird cabinet construction! Very helpful all these years later though, made it simpler to clean properly.
Yes, that badge...took longer to figure out how to do it than to actually do it. As you said, next time you have to make something by this method, it'll be a lot more straightforward. You've learned a useful new skill and shared it with the rest of us so thanks for that. It came right in the end and looks an absolute treat!
Overall cabinet finish came up very well indeed and you'd never guess it was originally painted. It really looks the absolute business!
Waited a week for this and I knew it'd be worth it! Lovely stuff.

Tip: having successfully employed wet and dry on a number of plastic and Bakelite cases, I use water in a dish (not flowing) and put a drop or two of washing up detergent into the water. That acts as a very effective lubricant and helps avoid accidental gouging of the surface. As for polish, I use Autosol Metal Polish Liquid. I find the liquid to be just abrasive enough without being too so.

Making that Kriesler badge was a lot of work and at least some added expense worth noting but the end result was the difference between a rough radio with a damaged badge and a great looking old radio that appears in perfect condition. Good work to say the least.

When a valve is low emission it usually a striped cathode.
The cathode is coated with chemicals to aid emission over time this is striped off.
Also some time called a soft valve
If you strip off a valve you won’t see this the chemicals the cathode are toxic.
    Great work I enjoy watching

During the Eighties and Nineties, nearly every pre/post-war console that I came across couldn't be given away, they seemed to not have value. I ran EMS back then, and had to transport someone to a nursing home from a hospital. I began offering them for their social areas/dayrooms/whichever, and placed eleven over those two decades.
