Tchaikovsky, ''The oprichnik'', Act I - ''A nightingale chirps on leafy fronds''

The Oprichnik is an opera in 4 acts by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky to his own libretto after the tragedy The Oprichniks by Ivan Lazhechnikov. It is set in Ivan the Terrible's court during the oprichnina times (1565-1573).
It includes music from his early opera The Voyevoda (1869). It was given its premiere performance at the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg on 24 April 1874
El opríchnik es una ópera en 4 actos con música y libretto de Piotr Ilich Chaikovski, basada en la novela Los oprichniks, de Iván Lazhéchnikov. Se ambienta en la corte de Iván el Terrible en tiempos de la Opríchnina (1565-1573).
Incluye música de su anterior ópera El voivoda (1869). Se estrenó en el Teatro Mariinski en San Petersburgo el 24 de abril de 1874
