I feel like you guys came into this season with fresh eyes after watching the histories and lore!! Idk why but I feel so proud of you both for keeping up with the dialogue and making connections this episode. Separately, as a couple, you are such a joy to watch have conversations during the episode wrap up. Even if theres interruptions, we can see and hear the kindness and respect between you two. Sometimes when watching couples react (I've seen many) it can feel like a battle, almost uncomfy at times. I LOVE your conversations! Yall are a cute couple 😂😊

Character development starts to ramp up, especially on some complicated character we may dislike at first. For the night is dark and full of terrors
Kings so far: 1. Joffrey, currently sitting the Iron Throne (officially crowned but unrightful ruler) 2. Renly, claim by being Robert's brother (rebel) 3. Stannis, claim by being Robert's brother (actual rightful ruler according to the law because of him being Robert's oldest brother) 4. Robb, claims kingship over the North (rebel) King Beyond the Wall does not matter yet, so far background character, threat to the North itself, only the Night's Watch cares Daenerys, claim by being Aerys's (Mad King's) only surviving child, not a real player yet, nobody cares
When you ask a question about the show and no one tells you the answer. That usually means the show will answer your question when it thinks you should know the answer.
I think you're supposed to feel like their is more magic in the world now. I think it's lore in the universe that the magic of the world was sort of "reborn" when the dragons were born.
It helps if you see GoT as a documentary. You're not supposed to root for the cheetah or the gazelle, you're supposed to take in a new world and bask in its tiny little details and peculiarities. Things like a winter lasting generations or red comets heralding the return of dragons. If you go about this rooting for this or that character (like you did with Ned), there is only heartbreak ahead for you.
this is not related to the topic of the video, but I just find it funny. John in the book simply admires the appearance of Jaime Lannister and says that this is how a real king should look. "Lannister grew up to be a tall, handsome man with curly hair the color of beaten gold. He has sparkling feline green eyes, like his sister, and a smile that cuts like a knife."There is also a guy in the night Watch, Satin (this is only a book character). John considers him very handsome and attractive and notes that he is "beautiful as a girl, with his dark eyes, delicate skin and blue-black curls." It's the same story with girls. What I find funny is that John pays a lot of attention to people's looks. John loves beautiful people, he just loves them.if a person is ugly in John's opinion, then he will treat such people colder.

The actor that plays Joffrey did such a good job making you hate him! It's actually sad really, because he's a very sweet guy in real life, and had to take a break from acting after this role because people hated him so much. He's just now getting back into it, and has tried to change how he looks with a mustache and such so he isn't associated with Joffrey!
The scene where Joffrey slapped Cersei is related to the scene where Cersei threatened Baelish. She told him that power is power, but when Joffrey threatened her, Cersei realized that her power now only derives from Joffrey.....so she needs to find a way to gain influence or control over him if she is to maintain her power.
The comet is related to a prophecy indeed, the AA (Azor Ahai) prophecy, don't look that up online (it's a spoiler) even though the show does it poorly.

You have to give in to the emotion of the show to really accept it for what is it. You can't just be like o this shows fun and react to what's happening you have to empathize with them all of them and follow each characters story. That's what made it immortal and beloved.

Guys, my advice to you would be just to relax and go with it. Pick up whatever you can. You're both clearly smart. New characters and new layers are introduced in most seasons, but it ultimately makes the drama and the intrigue richer and more complex. Don't worry if you don't pick up every name/relationship/significance immediately. All will become clear.
Couple things about History and Lore... In real time, these were put out with the DVD sets of entire seasons, well after everyone had seen the season. So you are watching like everyone did. Also, if you started with Lore, you would have narrators that you might not know at all. Ruining the perspective and POV that makes the Lore stories cool.
The Scene between Cersei and Little Finger is cool and all but it's technically wrong and shows the cracks in the writing, Little Finger in the books is a friend to everyone and an unassuming man but is meticulous and cunning, he would never antagonize anyone let alone Cersei of all people.
If anything that's more realistic and not at all a crack in the writing.... some of the smartest people easily make small mistakes all the time.... i know blaming GOT writing is considered cool now, but u r just being lazy....
