I served aboard the USS Bennington CVA-20 in 1955 and we had FJ-3 Fury's aboard along with Panthers, Cougars and AD-6 Skyraiders. Great memories!

FJ-3 Fury had the Curtiss-Wright J65, a licensed built copy of the Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire bringing 1239 pounds additional thrust, to 7,239 pounds. Up from the 6000 pounds thrust of the
FJ-2's General Electric J47-GE-2 turbojet
