such a nostalgic game, even though it has plenty of flaws. I must’ve dumped hundreds of hours into it as a kid and the music is up to the same standard as the havok version. Big Arms theme goes SO unbelievably hard
Agreed! This is one of my favorite 3DS games, and glad the 3DS version wasnt THAT big of an embarrassing mess lol

I actually found this underneath my grandma’s sofa. Apparently she had gotten it for me a long time ago and lost it. When I found it the box was CAKED with dust. I couldn’t even see what it was. I wiped the dust from the box and saw modern sonic staring at me, I kept wiping the dust off until I saw “SON GENERAT” I kept wiping and saw “SONIC GENERATIONS” I was afraid that the cartridge wouldn’t work, but I opened the box up and saw that the inside was perfectly preserved. That was yesterday.

I actually played the 3DS version before I played the console version. This was actually the game that I wanted a 3DS for back when I was in my really big Sonic phase, lol.

some people dont like 3ds games, but i kinda like how they look like a weird inbetween ps1 and ps2 graphics. like everything is kinda lowpoly with 2d stuff mixed in, i kinda dig that
i got this game on the 2ds but ive never played cuz idk, now im probally gonna play it (also they should do a sonic and knuckles remake for with that classic sonic in 2.5D)

Wow! Watching this video just makes me shout out RELATABLE everytime he says ANYTHING! Including the speedrunning and how long it took you to beat that game ( Except for the boss battle for Shadow )

I had this version of Sonic Generations for the longest before I actually got the main game and I’m a sucker for 2D (2.5D?) Sonic levels and loved this version more than the main game. Great review

I used to watch Cobi play it too I fucking love him. Wouldn’t he do these levels eventually with a capture card and render a stage in a lot higher quality and post them without commentary?

My grandparents bought me this game whenever I was like 4 and I played it all the time so I recently replayed it and it's just as good as I remember

I read that this version actually does have side missions. They're unlocked via buying them with Play Coins.

Hey how do you unlock the models in sonic generations for the 3ds?
Sonic generations on 3ds for me is such a missed opportunity but I still ended up enjoying it. I just don't understand why so many sonic games on handheld systems did not get featured here at all such as the entire sonic advance series. The game basically had 1 handheld level from sonic rush (with the exception of tropical resort since sonic colours ds was a thing). Imagine levels from the rest of the rush games in here. Sky babylon would have been awesome! Or dead line! I think it suffers from being a very early game in the 3ds lifespan. Given a bit more development time this could of been very special
8:30 silver is freaking wack. One time I kicked silver right in the section where the spring right after the middle of the stage. I just kept stomping against the spring when silver was there and he got stuck in the wall and couldn't move for the rest of the fight. I don't have any proof or footage but you can try it yourself. I only got it once though, so I really don't know. Get silver to the spring areas and then repeatedly stomp on the spring. Silver may end up glitching in a wall giving you a free win. This is probably because silver isn't actually programmed to get on the springs, so when you kick him he's forced on the spring. Causing him to freeze. Editing this I realise there are 2 spring sections, you can try them both but I got in the one mentioned.

I think you could say classic sonic plays like classic Sonic, modern in 3DS plays like Sonic Rush, and modern in Havok plays like Unleashed

You should have mentioned the missions mode, and heck even the online versus mode
I didnt feel like they were worth mentioning. The missions are garbage and same with the online lol

Just like the console version of Sonic generations, in my opinion, I like Sonic generations 3DS and it was the first version of Sonic generations that I played and I get that are some problems but I still love it

If youve never played a Sonic game, then I suggest trying out the PC version of this game if you can! That one holds up really well, and theres plenty of mods that will keep you entertained with new levels! :)

If you're more used to a Mario-like playstyle, I would also recommend Sonic Colors. Any of the classic Genesis games would do too, since they've been ported so many times.
I wish the biolizard boss fight was it in Sonic Generations on the console

Its probably easier to find now. During the time when I actually wanted a physical version of the game, it was nearly impossible. Considering the Eshop is being shut down soon, its very possible the game will be super rare again.

The problem with this game is the fact that, besides Emerald Coast, the level design is so empty and bland.
