We had a frost/freeze advisory last night bc it got sooo cold! It went down into the upper 30s, so we got lucky... but in Michigan we usually have to wait to plant until at least memorial weekend when the last frost threat is usually gone. I have begun buying my flowers and will be soon buying vege plants and I already have my seeds. One thing you definitely need is a way to allow your veges to either grow up or spread out. Cucumbers get very much in need of spreading out and they either need something to climb on or you will need to guide them down o to your patio. Tomatoes spread wide and then if you can, you can guide them upwards. Beans and peas also need something to climb on. Its smart to get your climbers a piece of fence or something to climb on as soon as possible to train them!😊
Kitty won't poop when the soil is wet from her drip irrigation lol once the landscaper has that dialed in and her plants "pop" her ermm... fertilizing "steward" should move on lol 😅❤

I made this salad last night. It's outstanding! Next time, I want to try it with shrimp. I also added some good feta cheese to it. I think the brightness of the feta threw it over the top

I have my garden well underway, peppers (red, yellow, green, purple) tomatoes ( I like Roma) but I have a couple of others as well. yellow summer squash, spaghetti squash,(oh my goodness, you should try this, it is so-o-o good!) green beans, parsley, chives and basil. Couldn't find zucchinni so had to start from seed, hope they grow. I had slugs eating on my peppers so I had to take care of those pesky things, but hopefully we're good now. I love gardening and I think yours is amazing. Happy growing!

Just wanted to say in regards to the cat pooping in your garden beds...we had the same issue and its awful! Once they start, they won't stop. If I were you I would protect your garden area in a similar way to the chicken coop. It would be a shame for all that hard work you already did twice in there to go to waste!
Save yourself a lot of time and get the surface cleaner for your pressure washer.. We have a fifteen inch surface cleaner disc. My husband said he loved it, and it saved him a lot of time. I love your backyard.

Try saving egg shells from your eggs. Let them dry and grind them up. I do this to keep my cats from using our beds. They don't like the texture on their feet and another plus... eggshells add calcium to your dirt.

You need a netting type cover for your raised beds to protect them. You can extend it up 12 inches or so to keep out the critters.

I know you probably have a long term plan for your backyard but you could plant mondo grass between your concrete sections and it would look great!

Actually, your basil will do sooo much better if you plant them with the tomatoes!
some cement stamping or pavers can't be powered wash they turn white. I called the cement place before I cleaned
