As usual you did an exellent job! It's so nice to watch your videos. I have learn too many tricks and techniques. You have an amazing skills sir. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills to us specially like me i am just a beginner gadgets technician here in the philippines. I want to learned more so im always watching your videos. Thank you so much sir. Godbless you and you're family. More power to you and to your business.
I love the old school probe point dongle board.. I would use it to confirm the fancy diagnostic test dongle.. thanks for the educational repair videos....
how do you get around the issue , IF a customer says the touch screen worked before he brought it in, or whatever the minor fix was but a bigger one came to light? you must of had a few customers trying to pull a fast one for example ? I watched a few videos where you used your test screen on other peoples dead screened pads. Just curious if you have a percentage of "ahh yes we know about that", or "it worked ok before we brought it in"
I have a question about using the multimeter. What is the multimeter reading from the device? Where is the power coming from in this case? Is it power from the batteries in the multimeter or from the battery in the iPad ?
Nice to see you again👍 nice job and interesting 5 $ testboard. How do you find such tools like this? Did you ever tried the macbook tester „ebc-820“? Greets from vienna
I'd be curious to know what those test points actually go? 20mV difference in readings could be within the tolerance of the components associated with that chip
Another great vid my man, just bought this tester to hopefully identify an apparently non-shorting ipad 6 that wont power on, pin #4 is showing offline while the others relate to your readings, i cant find the normal values online so can i assume the tristar is toast?
Hey could you please explain in detail about what type of iPad pro screens are available on AliExpress and how to select the best quality stuff and which Chinese seller do you rely on? I need to fix my iPad pro 10.5" and having good experience in diy repairs, unable to find a replacement screen via iFixit Germany or Europe. Doesn't make sense buying at higher price from iFixit US and paying more import taxes.
Great job again! After all this time I have to ask where did you find the outro music? I love the way the filter opens up on the keys before it fades out! Sounds like a Juno 60 😅
I have just received tester board. I tested my 1st gen iPad Pro (it is a replacement after Apple $99 battery service). The pins seem reversed from video. Two tested .460 two tested at .475 and the important pin tested at .772. Do you know if it's good or bad. Thanks for your great videos.
@@NorthridgeFix OK I reversed board and now getting about 0.730 on most compared to 0.750 on video. Critical pin now reads 0.779 very low compared to video.
You have to compare values from good known tablet or use values same in the video if you have the same model tablet. If numbers are different and tablet is not turning on or charging, it could be that you have a faulty Tristar. A faulty charging flex can also cause numbers to change.
Could you help me with something? When you are ordering a ic replacement do you really have to find a replacement with all the numbers? I cannot find a replacement for this one: 343S00025-A1 1549HHAM Charger IC Please help me. I am not in the position to send my iPad to you since it is in Ecuador :/ thank you for your help!!
That reminds me of the good old days of using break out boxes and volt meters on car ecms in obd1 days and older. Do they make an adapter for usb type c connectors?
0.845.. compared to 0.820?? I would never known that measurement so close to correct would be a fault. Myself being a hobbiest and not pro. wrongly would expect a big difference in readings.
I binge watch all of your videos. I’m looking to get into micro soldering very soon. You inspire me.

SubhanAllah, so mesmerising and mind blowing how you fix and tackle the faults.
Always your's videos have to learn more then more and exiting go ahead I'm waiting your videos to learn thanks again thanks 🤩

Wow tnx Alex 💪🏻💪🏻 thats help to me
Thank you I to have that test board it came as a extra gift but till you explain I had trouble with how to use it thanks again 👍
Excellent thank you
Always wondered what use was that small board Tristan tester. Thanks for showing that.

Thank you soooooooo much
Thank you for the time and and the
Great job and video like always
Experience is so important. I never would have guessed from .845 forward voltage instead of .823 was a bad chip. That's tight...
Finally back :D where have you been?
It's only been few days. I had no chance to post.
@@DoObs get rid of that cat🌝

Where do you find the board diagrams to identify the Tristar chip
good job thank u for advise
Just bought a chip for my ipad air - shocked to find just how small it is in real life 🙀
1:51 do you do this test with the battery connected?
I tested with battery disconnected.

im getting no reading on pin 4, ipad 7, should a ipad 7 have same readings as good ipad pro you showed?
What temperature is the hot air set to?

If you can change a tristar then you can measure the voltage drop at the pins of the dock ribbon without a break out
What fume extractor you are using any info about it ? Thanks
I checked a good ipad and the port in your video that says 0.854 showed me OL in diod mode, what does that mean?
What kind of hot tweezers are you using?
ebay.us/w4BqhV
Weller WX2021 very cheap and useful 🌝
Very good good job
Awesome
Why did the Tristar chip fail?
Hi, how i can find that hot tweezer

Flip the tester board and it won't be reversed anymore.
@@NorthridgeFixthe readings are very different from video. Do I have a different Tristar or is the chip just faulty? Thanks

Sir If the charging strip(connection) is bad, will it shows traistar fails?
T-Shirt was nice..
what is the tristar chip for device?
iPad Air 2, PIN number 4 is OL
Is this normal ?

little hello from France, still informative video, thank you for sharing with the community.
nice video sir Awsome
interesting tough for a beginner who has no idea what voltage suppose to be on pads may not be very useful 👍😀👍
You buy the tool and test it on normal working iPads 👌🏼
maşaallah nice work
Thank you so much M.r
