Ed told an interviewer (Joe Barth) it was his favorite "chamber jazz" session with McConnell, though he seemed to imply that he liked it because he felt proud to have successfully navigated the session without a bass player. I played around with the file in Audacity, and you can "remix" Ed and make him a bit easier to hear by splitting the stereo track and then boosting the volume of the left channel only, and also nudging the treble up by a couple of dBs to get a little more clarity. I can hear Ed quite well when he's in the lead, and appropriately when he's comping. Great tune from two classy gents.
