  • Filmmaker Santiago Gómez of NYU Tisch School of the Arts visited Children of Promise, NYC to meet our scholars and staff and hear their stories. He created this documentary, which shows how CPNYC keeps its promise to the community every day.
Children of Promise, NYC is a community-centered organization that partners with children and families impacted by mass incarceration to dismantle the stigma and heal from the trauma plaguing Black and Brown communities in Brooklyn and the Bronx.
CPNYC is the first and only after-school program and summer day camp in NYC designed to meet the needs, interests, and concerns of children left behind by a parent serving time in prison. Since 2009, CPNYC has provided services to over 1,500 children of incarcerated parents and their families through its innovative and holistic model, creating opportunities for them to achieve their full potential.
