Definitely Kawasaki. This old man, at a dealer I worked at, came by monthly to have his old Husker serviced. The head mechanic said he's been there for 13 years and said he's the only one that does that customer's work. He said left hydro (why always the left?) around 12 to 15 spindles, wiring harness, many sensors and switches have been replaced and it's still going on the full original engine! It had 8,700+ on it when I diagnosed it for fuel pump. Was a big Kawasaki too.
I just saw it today, 8,812 hrs 🤯😱
Everything is gone but I'm pretty sure it's a 27 or larger
That was great, loved it!
Thank you for watching 🙂
Great video, very informative.
Thank you ☺
Awesome info
Glad you liked it. Thank you for watching.
Super cool
☺
Would like to know what the preference is between hydro gear and tuff torq
On it!
Kawi and Kohler are both great, I wouldn't be scared of either. However, the ECV740/749 Kohler Command EFI has got to be just about the best one out there. It holds our shop record for highest hours with some of them making it up to 4,400 hours. We see them at 3-4k+ hours on the regular, and the fuel efficiency will make that engine pay for itself.
Agreed. This is the opinion of some but not all the staff at Main Street Mower. There will be another video soon, talking about the benefits and longevity of a Kohler.
Tried out a couple of the 740s. Kawasaki fx801 ran circles around it. Never had a problem with the kohlers they just didn’t have the grunt a kawi does
@@freedomisntfree_44 This is not surprising considering the FX801 is a whopping 852cc. The ECV740 is only 747cc. Kawasaki rates their HP numbers lower than most other manufacturers. The big advantage to the 740 is the fuel efficiency.
@@austiny528 the 801 is 26.5 hp and 740 is 25. Just wasn’t enough power for me. I did like how quiet it was though and they ran really smooth. Have 2 35hp fx1000s now though and I’ll never look back 🤙
801 is 25 1/2 horsepower@@freedomisntfree_44
Looks like all of these guys work at the same shop....
Yes, these are interviews with our service department
Now how would you compare the Kawasaki Engines to the Hondas?
We love Honda, this is specifically twin cylinder engine options
Cheaper Honda = $$$$
Kawasaki is better
Koehler for sure. Kawasaki blow up to much
Are you in sales by any chance?
Been working at a dealer for 7 years, way more Kohler come in either locked up or no compression than Kawasakis. When I see Kawasaki's I normally don't have to touch them but when a Kohler comes in that's usually the reason it's coming in. I normally do two to three Kohler engine swaps a month especially in walkers, whereas the only things I normally do on Kawasaki's are adjust the valves. I work for the biggest dealer in the state and take care of 90% of lawn care and equipment companies around me within probably 200 mi because we're the biggest city there is
