Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. I farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. Our part-time employee, Brock, also helps with the filming. 1980 was our first year in Waldron where our main farm is now. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.
I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.
I hope you enjoy my content and ask questions as you have them. I do my best to answer anything I can. Thanks for watching!
I appreciate you subscribing to my channel and liking my videos. You can also find me on Facebook borderviewfarms and on Instagram @borderviewfarms

Dad was a Deere dealer when the 8010’s were introduced at Deere Day in Dallas, August, 1960. I have two photos of him with one. Then, the following spring, I was able to sit on one in Peoria, IL, when I was 10. There was an 8 bottom fully integral plow designed to be used with the tractor. I wish I knew the serial numbers of those tractors to see where the are now.

The jeep pulling plow was originally post ww2 they were trying to figure out what to do with the surplus jeeps. The point was could work fields unhook implement and go to town.

No tractors around after WW2. Jeeps worked because of the low gearing. Companies made pto's and hydraulics for them. They even made a backhoe for them.

I have never seen a Jeep pulling a plow but here in Central California I have several Jeeps and even pickups pulling hay equipment in the field.

I'm no International expert but I think that last tractor mentioned was like a International 1086. They had a nice showing of tractors to cover MANY decades. Thanks for the video.

There was a 100 8010s built, all were recalled for the transmission problems and all were changed to 8020 but one which never had the recall done and is part of the Keller collection. 85 8020s were built so 185 in total. Also it's funny to me that we always took our two cylinders to plow days and no matter what else was there, you can always hear them over everything else lol

Great video Nathan I’d love to see that 8020 in person pretty darn cool looking tractor, but you would need earplugs running that thing all day I just couldn’t imagine, yes the first semi I started driving was a 75 9500 GMC with a 6-71 Detroit, I wouldn’t wanna drive it at my age now but it was cool back then!

I have definitely seen Jeeps pulling plows. One the things they were “capable” of doing. Not practical for farms but gardens farm Hand Mike sighting! Cool. So was the 8020

They were all 8010s. Then they recalled them all because of the transmission problems. There's still one left that is an 8010 that is in a collection
