Apologies, but just a little (teeny-weeny) correction on the 747: it only left the US *passenger* fleet for good. There are US cargo operators still flying the 747, such as Kalitta Air, Atlas Air, UPS, and Polar.
2017: fall of classic aircraft and rise of barebones sardine class carriers. People want cheaper, and even as legacy carriers bring “basic economy” products, the ultra low cost carriers are still much cheaper. Nice takeoff view at 3:22. Looks quite heavy with that wingflex.
