I think taking your time and really fleshing out a solid scape build like yours only adds to the model. Gives it a very personal meaning and the hidden details aren't always for the world to see. I feel like those are more for you own enjoyment. Another great whats on the bench ... weekly! Keep it up loving the content.
The snowmobile turned out great, too bad it broke but you’ll fix it. I’m loving the cucv, the 8 lug wheels look legit, and the fj vanquish looks great too
Wow Matthew it's hard to believe this is episode 36 ... Time fly's when you're having fun... Glad the driver rode it out with the carnage in that crash 😉😜 Those are some nice Feature's added to the Phoenix and I like the stance of it too 😃😯😃 Those wheel's are okay but think they need to be 1.55 to fit the stock scale look that you are working for..?? ✌🤠👍 Having Fun Laughing Playing and RCing 🙏 Stay Safe and Play Healthy My Friend 🏁💯🏁
That Skeeride is sick! I've got a couple of suggestions from someone who rides a sled. Weight distribution is key for steering so more weight on the front end and weight that can shift from left to right with steering. Basically you have a mountain scale sled that wants to catwalk the front end up with those "scale" 3" lugs. Another thing is to spread out the ski stance to make it more stable like trail sleds are.
The Vanquish looks so good. The suspension drop really helped the overall look a lot. The front light bar/guard is a very welcome addition. Hey, heads up, NSDRC just re-released their flat roof rack in CF and aluminum. I bet that would finish off the top side of this really well. Also, the F150 looks sweet on the shelf. Looking forward to seeing some running video of that when the weather breaks.
I make sure project trucks are runners....the plans for later is what gets put off.....like my rc4wd d110 body on a scx10iii chassis....it's a runner but needs tweaks, well here comes the drift scene...which is a mix of performance and scale...and driving a drift car correctly is the most satisfying feeling I have ever had from a rc car...getting scale trucks(hardbody)to work well is a great feeling.....but nothing like drifting,it's a slow motion art form.....look into it...
Gaaaah. I want those wheels! My planned suburban build I want to be a 2500 on 8 bolt wheels, I was planning on making hubcabs to go over some generic wheels but those wheels would look amazing. As for getting side tracked? No noo. Never. I 100% don't have several partal projects sitting around...although my 3d printer will help move them out of the backlog.
I've already though of a fix for steering, run a servo and a weight where the driver is and make him lean into the turn, that's basically how a real sled is, if your not leaning into it your not turning too well.
I’m really digging that cucv, sucks about the sled braking but it can be fixed. I just had to redo my Chevy k10 hardbody I done for my trx4, took it out and broke the bed on the first run. I’m working on a redcat marksman right now trying to scale it out, but not really finding a lot for it. Keep up the good work.
I love the vanquish/FJ that’s really cool ima steel some those ideas. I’m glad that I can run a good bead with Tig and have a 3d printer with wood Filament Mud flaps would look really good on there
Well... If you woulda got out there with your kyosho blizzard and groomed them dang trails... 🤣. I would have been heart broken breaking that snowmobile with all the time involved printing.
You really gotta get a handle on that snow machine situation there Matt! However it does look like it did decently well in those clips. Food for thought... could you actually get those arm's and have them made from aluminum I think could help with the handling but I think you've already thought about it. Anyways looks like you got it handled lol Also it's always work and life that gets front seat before I can finish a build. Got four projects and a few kits I haven't even opened yet and that doesn't count Lego kits. I'll get to it one day hopefully. Thanks for the video Matt 👍
Too bad you didn't get a full run in on the snowmobile but I'm not going to wish more snow on you just to get a running video, mother nature may have other plans before winter is over so we'll have to wait and see if you get another chance this year.
You need Skaggs on the bottom on your skis. What it will do is to help with the turning. Your skis are just sliding on top of the wet surface of the snow
The sled is awesome! Is it possible to 3D print over a steel wire frame? Seems like a way to reinforce the high abuse parts like those handlebars. Just a thought. Excellent work on the Toy Phoenix. Thanks for sharing. Be well.
Great job on all the builds Matt. The thumbnail was clickbait. Lol You didn’t even mention how the tires were on correctly. J/K Awesome video as always. I really look forward to this series
Sooooo cool. Love your running videos. You did a great job considering the camera situation you found yourself in. I totally understand what you're saying about life getting in the way of life. I've got builds going on 6 years that I am still determined to finish. I intend to post on the guild forum when I get my sh#@ together. That Phoenix is looking 🔥 👍👍 Love your channel (and you😘)
Is the krylon clear coat the way to protect acrylic airbrush work? Is there a clear coat that works best over Vallejo? Im a mech builder and im trying my first hardbody, id hate to put a bunch of time into a paintjob and then melt it 😄, actually hard to find info. Cheers!
one quick question. Basher scaler truck. I want something fast but scale looking. Is that a possibility? what do you recommend to take out to the park and abuse.
@Scale Builder's Guild you're right rc4wd will cost you more. I think there's 30 or maybe 40 bucks difference between rc4wd and Ali on the bed alone. The difference for me is one place says i won't get my parts until the second week in April. So for Me, not having the wait is worth a little bit extra. I'm sure on the small parts there's only a few dollars difference
If things break, it means you use them. Luckily with that build... you can just make the parts. The rims look great, I agree a deeper dish may be better. I love how that bed looks. I am thinking about printing/buying first then printing.... the overland rack and rooftop tent set up from knight customs for my Phoenix. My first Phoenix is the trail truck, and I want it to just be scaled out. The other 2 Phoenix chassis are not really a Phoenix anymore hahahaha. Just a perfect chassis so haha. Great episode. Why wouldn't you sub and click the bell. It's easy and free.... unlike Netflix, amd you don't ask for personal data hahaha. 😂
I can't hardly find time to play with myself.....I mean "run my rig". 🤔🤭😂. Building a rig is my next step in RC tho. Thx for the awesome info u provide noobs like myself
Looks like the handlebar was broken before it hit the stump. That could be why it hit the stump in the first place, the driver couldn't control it with a broken handlebar. Just Sayin!
SON OF A SASKWATCH !You just make for my mind KA BOOM !! OK looks nice ,10 10 . OK I look for more stupid parts to burn little motor up .Hope for you 6 more months winter, and polar bear door knocks at 3 in the morning. Get a another hobby !!!!!!!
Handlebar broke before the crash. That’s what caused the crash lol
Breaking your snowmobile is like the most scale thing you could possibly do with a snowmobile! 😂
I think taking your time and really fleshing out a solid scape build like yours only adds to the model. Gives it a very personal meaning and the hidden details aren't always for the world to see. It is great that you mention that conditions and user error causes breakage. There are so many folks blaming the manufacturer for a break.
only 11 mins but every single second of it is worthy and useful watching and 100% entertaining thanks for such a great put together show Matt, love it
Thanks for watching!
Awesome as usual! Love the rider holding on for dear life after the handlebars broke😂
You would be too if Matt was driving you 😂
Wheels look fantastic Sir.
@@paulmaigler289 well he is captain slow in the RC world so maybe it wasn’t so hard to hang on 😂

I think you're doing fine Matt I haven't managed to finish any projects in the last six months ! But have started quite a few 😬

Ok? Thanks for sharing I guess.
Hope to see a running video of that Phoenix portal with the CCHand parts. That rear cage looks awesome.
The Vanquish looks so good. The suspension drop really helped the overall look a lot. The front light bar/guard is a very welcome addition. 🤣🤣 Ski ride hit a stump and tore off control arms! It truly is scale!

I also used to be better suited to powder, but I had to leave my partying days behind.
😂
Vanquish rig is looking tops!
I’ve got a set of those Goodyear Wrangler’s on my TRX4 Blazer, they’re so cool!
Gaaaah. I want those wheels! My planned suburban build I want to be a 2500 on 8 bolt wheels, I was planning on making hubcabs to go over some generic wheels but those wheels would look amazing.

Thank you Sir!

Good luck and have fun!
Well... If you woulda got out there with your kyosho blizzard and groomed them dang trails... 🤣. I would have been heart broken breaking that snowmobile with all the time involved printing.
It's no big deal, parts can be printed again! I'd feel a lot worse if I had to order them online and wait!
good job all around

Put some leaf springs on that rig and she'll sit nice and high.
Too bad you didn't get a full run in on the snowmobile but I'm not going to wish more snow on you just to get a running video, mother nature may have other plans before winter is over so we'll have to wait and see if you get another chance this year.
I predict another snowstorm before we get Spring here!
Well, it’s good to see that you’re a typical RCer like the rest of us, lol.
Take it out and break it, lol
Literally did that on my real sled multiple times. Yes snowmobiles are way better in powder.
You need Skaggs on the bottom on your skis. What it will do is to help with the turning. Your skis are just sliding on top of the wet surface of the snow
It has them but they are probably just a bit too small to make them effective
That's right Paul, they're there, just not useful in this type of snow/ice/slush.
Luckily, replacement parts are infinitely available 🙂
Suffering from the same time challenges. Got several things in process that I haven't touched for weeks.
The sled is awesome!

To bad about the sled! A lot of cool stuff! Thanks for the video 😎👍

It’s funny you say year of lexan. All my trucks are running lexan bodies this year. I still have most of my hard bodies, maybe next year lol
Love the FJuggy
Realy nice Toy😎👌

All of the above
Add a crossbar to handlebar for next one 💥💯🤙🏻🍺
Can you run a gyro? Usually the driver leans to counter it tipping, thats what I see as the problem.
Which TPU did you use for the skee ride track?
Is the krylon clear coat the way to protect acrylic airbrush work?

Vallejo makes a clear coat, I’d use that if you’re worried!
one quick question. Basher scaler truck. I want something fast but scale looking. Is that a possibility? what do you recommend to take out to the park and abuse.

Replace the skis with tracks?
@ScaleBuilder'sGuild What wheels are those on the front? I want to pick a set up for my Marlin Crawler Blazer Edition(custom build I'm working on.)
They're stock BRX-02 wheels from the kit!
@@scalebuildersguild Ah. They are BEAUTIFUL!!!
Where did the rear step bumper for the cucv come from
Also from Mod19. He’s responsible for the whole kit.
If things break, it means you use them. Luckily with that build... you can just make the parts.

curious how you hooked up the light kit from cchand that come with the spotlight
Plugged into a spare slot on the receiver.
I think it will sink right to the bottom in powder.
There was so much power on the snowmobile that the handlebars broke and then the guy looked like he was riding saddle bronc
that fj is the shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit! i'd donate a kidney for that, looks a bit like an aussie overlander. i see why its one of your favorite bodys

Most snowmobile are designed to be used on a groomed snowmobile trails...
stretch the 1.55. every since I got my knight runner everything is getting 1.55
guess ill try to stretch it over 1.9 wheels.
I think “that” user needs to get fired🤣

its... conditions x user error

Idk. Those old military trucks always had larger tires on them for ground clearance
