This is why I love spelunky 1 and 2. The mantrap and wall-e robot normally can't interact with each other but it's still programmed in.

It isn't, man trap just eats everything, only exceptions are programmed in.

The mantrap eat him, however, an few seconds later the shopkeeper blast the shit out of the mantrap and continue to chase me. Idk if it was an bug or an actual feature. And certainly don't know if that also happens in Spelunky 2

a general rule of thumb seems to be if it can be killed by the player in any way then it can probably be killed by the plant (and trigger what happens when it dies)

If the mantrap eats the shopkeeper, after a few seconds the shopkeeper gonna blast the shit out of the mantrap with the shotgun and gonna still alive. (I don't know if works in Spelunky 2, it happens to me in Spelunky 1)

Makes sense, Magmars and Apep aren't actual enemies, they're moving obstacles as far as the game is concerned.
