That's a killer pentatonic lick out of his legendary live solo with Mr. Big. Love the repeating one with the blues note at the beginning too!
Still one of the best pairings in rock music, Paul and Billy.
What makes this pentatonic so appealing is that it retains a box shape. So stays within familiar territory for most guitarists.
Love your playing man.
Wow that was cool 👏
Great lesson thank you 🙏 😊
AWESOME lick, loved that lesson, great job, thanks!!
the altered idea… wow! amazing
That is so cool. Nice work and thanks for explaining this.
This is awesome. Thanks!
Fab lick! Thank you!
Nice! See, I didn't learn that stuff studying classical... I need those great, but relatively simple tips to play some jazz. Great video lesson. Very nice lick to break apart. Gilbert is a monster player. I'm almost 50 and still learning cool stuff from guys like him and you.
Awesome lesson! Paul’s Terrifying Guitar Trip has some cool pentatonic stuff I’ve used for awhile. A must to add to your playing.
Intense Rock II > pentatonic heaven... 😂😂🎸🎶🕺🏻🔊🛸🛸🎈😘
At 5mins in I started to hear Mary had a little lamb in the lick and now that’s all I can hear haha gonna use this
😂 You’ve ruined it for me now!
Same…
No hate at all, love the episode just funny I can’t I hear it when it’s played slower now haha
Oh i do the triplet version of this. Will try this one!
I'm sure I learned a triplet version of this from PG. Exactly the same pattern but just the first and last three notes of each repetition.
I realised recently that he got it from Michael Schenker.
Is there a video where he talks about the guitar he's playing? Curious about the spec, pups, etc.
The sedate stuff is nice, but, how about a real rocker at the beginning of the vid?
What kind of guitar is that? Doesn’t quite seem like a fender
The guitar in the intro says "Cordy," not K-Line and has a headstock shape that would get you a lawsuit from Fender if you tried to market it. Seems a reasonable question.
If it says Cordy it might be a partscaster that he put together
Well, with his name on it ("Cordy"), it's a good guess that its a partscaster. If you search for that on his channel, you'll find the story, here: ua-cam.com/video/37_bDhQ9Ogk/v-deo.html. -Tom
No I don't thank you anyway
