    That's a killer pentatonic lick out of his legendary live solo with Mr. Big. Love the repeating one with the blues note at the beginning too!

    Still one of the best pairings in rock music, Paul and Billy.
    What makes this pentatonic so appealing is that it retains a box shape. So stays within familiar territory for most guitarists.

    Nice! See, I didn't learn that stuff studying classical... I need those great, but relatively simple tips to play some jazz. Great video lesson. Very nice lick to break apart. Gilbert is a monster player. I'm almost 50 and still learning cool stuff from guys like him and you.

    Awesome lesson! Paul’s Terrifying Guitar Trip has some cool pentatonic stuff I’ve used for awhile. A must to add to your playing.

    Oh i do the triplet version of this. Will try this one!

    @LilOlFunnyBoy Місяць тому

    I'm sure I learned a triplet version of this from PG. Exactly the same pattern but just the first and last three notes of each repetition.
    I realised recently that he got it from Michael Schenker.

    Is there a video where he talks about the guitar he's playing? Curious about the spec, pups, etc.

    The sedate stuff is nice, but, how about a real rocker at the beginning of the vid?

    What kind of guitar is that? Doesn’t quite seem like a fender

    • @adamc4955
      @adamc4955 Місяць тому +1

      The guitar in the intro says "Cordy," not K-Line and has a headstock shape that would get you a lawsuit from Fender if you tried to market it. Seems a reasonable question.

    • @evoguy23
      @evoguy23 Місяць тому

      If it says Cordy it might be a partscaster that he put together

    • @TLMuse
      @TLMuse Місяць тому

      Well, with his name on it ("Cordy"), it's a good guess that its a partscaster. If you search for that on his channel, you'll find the story, here: ua-cam.com/video/37_bDhQ9Ogk/v-deo.html. -Tom
