Great camp, supreme sunset! I remember the superb @FellmanDave interviewed a Lake District NT Warden and they seemed perfectly happy with anyone camping at altitude, leaving no trace and having no fires so from my point of view it isn't something to worry about. Well done for getting out there and getting people off their sofas.
I got the same tent at the start of the year and have had a few stormy nights in it. Once I had a measured 48mph wind coming from various directions and the tent handled it with no trouble, it actually got worse during the night but because it was bucketing it down I didn't get out to measure it. I always use Delta ground anchors on the guys and double peg the other points when it's windy and have not so far felt like I'd need double poles. They are quite a low tent and handle the wind well, with me behind a shorty it suits me well 😁
Depending on your graphics card you might be able to get rid of most that wind using Nvidia Broadcast and a desktop audio recording software like Audacity. Great video my guy.
Ya definitely need to come out with me to learn how to eat like a king when camping.. 😂😅 If Michelin did stars for camping food, I'd definitely have three... 😂😅
thank you for the response. Anchor pegs? I guess I need these! Where shall i look for them to research/ buy please. I can’t wait till test the abisko in harsh conditions. Also, what’s the reasons you picked up more tents? For space, weight?
If I may be so bold to come with a suggestion. You have the personality and charisma to succeed in youtubing. But as a person who enjoys watching camping videos, I mostly watch it for the camping. When you make a 15 minute video, where the first 9 minutes is you talking while ascending up the hilltop, it leaves very little time for the actual camping experience. And here is my suggestion, try to do the opposite. Less talking and walking, and more camping and "tent life" I am sorry if I come off as a d!c&, but since I honestly believe you have the potential to grow a big following, I just wanted to offer my (unsolicited) perspective as a viewer and occasional camper. Granted, I am not british so there might be something I’m not getting that you are. 😊
Thanks for the advice mate! And a very good observation! The feed back is much appreciated and not something I noticed thank you! I will apply it to my next video for sure 👍🏼
You should of lingered on that sunset and walkers it was magical.
Nice vid. Good to see the Vern 1 out in some bad weather. I love mine, although yet to really test it!
Superb video. Impressed you even went out to film the tent in the morning 👍👌😀

Do you reckon the msr would’ve coped? I’ve got an elixir 2 and thinking of doing helvellyn also, just trying to gage what it’s capable of
I camped it Friday 23rd and it was mental how windy and rainy it was 😂
Got caught in storm Lilian at Red Tarn, was pretty intense but quite an experience!
Great video pal, what’s the watch you wear mate?

Hey Joe, just wondering if your MSR elixer 2 fits well in your 50l Rab pack. I’m looking at the Exo 48 but worried if it’s big enough
Hi mate, fits no problem, put the tent in a stuff/ compression sack and poles on the outside!
thank you for the response.
