Do YOU think the Sonos Ace headphones are worth $449? Let us know why or why not in the comments!

Obligatory comment from someone that refuses to spend money on premium audio and would rather use skull candy headphones.
Note: I am not referring to myself.

Bose is inferior when it comes to integration to home entertainment. Sonos is better

Well, just returned mine. To be honest I was very disappointed. Bass is lacking in a huge way and when paired with the ARC - volume at the highest setting is way way too low. ANC average at best, Transparency decent. I compared these side by side to Bose quiet comfort plus, Beats Studio pro and AirPods Max. My ranking - 1. Apple 2. Bose 3. Beats 4. Sonos.

Do you know how the Sonos Ace work with Dolby Atmos from iOS Apple Music app?

HOW LOUD DO THEY GET COMPARED TO SONY AND APPLE WHY DOES NOBODY EVER ANSWER THIS

    • @SoundGuys
      @SoundGuys  4 місяці тому +3

I'll answer it! The loudness is comparable to the Sony and Apple headphones. However, I did notice that the Sonos Ace headphones don't get very loud when watching Dolby Atmos movies using the TV Audio Swap feature.
When I was watching Top Gun: Maverick, I had to max out the headphones volume to get to a comfortable listening level. However, people who may suffer from age-related hearing loss may wish the volume to be louder. Besides that, the loudness was fine in every other use case-streaming through Spotify/Tidal, wired or wireless.
Hope this helps! Happy listening! :D

I dont understand why people go on about loudness. Pretty much all headphones will go upto 85-90dB loud. You shouldn't be listening to music above 80dB anyway since it damages your hearing in the long run. Also with ANC there is no need for having the volume high because you don't need to higher volume to fight outside noise anymore.

Hard to believe anything could be shallower than Sony headphones.
WH-1000XM3/4/5, horrible headphones in almost every way.

Thanks for the review. I'm a little bit confused though because other reviewers mentioned Sonos Ace doesn't have as much kick when it comes to bass so they recommend tuning the EQ and set Bass to max. But here you're recommending it to be reduced to minimum? Also, would love to know more about the soundstage (does it feel wide or narrow?)

Hey there! If you want our full thoughts on the Sonos Ace's sound quality, including objective tests and subjective observations, then I'd highly recommend checking out the full written review on SoundGuys.com! www.soundguys.com/sonos-ace-review-116239/
As for the soundstage, I (Harley) thought it felt quite wide-especially when listening to Dolby Atmos tracks on services like Tidal or Apple Music. Again, full thoughts in the review article.
Hope this helps! Happy listening! :D

I’d seen the opposite in other reviews, that the bass is a bit on the over heavy side. That would line up with my experience with other Sonos products. I usually knock the treble up a little bit to adjust.

Honestly, why will someone pay $450 for these Sonos when to really benefit from them, you have to be in the Sonos "Close-System", while most are already in that of Apple, and for those who are not there, Sony or other Sennheiser exist and do not have "Close-System" constraints, frankly, why 🤷🏽‍♂️
Today, all manufacturers want to have their "Close-System", none realize that the only winner at the end of this crazy race will be Apple, and perhaps Google to a certain extent 🤦🏽‍♂️
Ps:and I can guarantee you that 90-95% of people who are in both Close-System will choose the Airpod Max.

Well in a way Sonos is more open than the other systems. And Sonos Ace in particular more so.
      - Most Sonos products support Airplay 2.
      - Work with different voice assistants.
      - Integrate decently with both Android and iOS.
      - In Sonos Ace case, I think they are the first or one of the first headphones to support both Dolby Atmos and 360 audio and spatial audio with head tracking in both Android and iOS. Sony only supports Android. Bose virtualizes stereo (not the same thing) and obviously Apple focus is on their own devices.
I wish more reviewers pointed these very important differences as I think most people aren't particularly tied to only one ecosystem. They may have an Apple TV, but most likely also have a Sony PS5. Perhaps an Android tablet and so on.

      . Way lighter, thinner design
      .no outdated lighting cable
.multi point Bluetooth connection that can connect to more devices at once that isn’t just limited to apple products
.case that can cover everything and hold its cable contents
      . 25% more battery
. 3 minutes of charge time gives you 3 hours of battery. That’s insane
I would say those are some right off the bat observations to have with the advantages Sonos has over air max along with uniquely matching it with equal performing transparency mode , nice physical buttons, and removable ear cups that Bose and Sony don’t do. A lot seem to prefer the sound of Sonos over the air max as well.
One advantage to air max is seamless apple connection , location finding, and audio sharing. Some could say the mesh cushions are nicer on air max for heat. But the weight of the air max I feel cancels out any comfort advantage the max would have over the ace.

Sonos Ace is actually more open than Apple. Sonos Ace supports both iOS and Android, and the P2P connection to Arc means it can practically be used for gaming with PS5 or Xbox or Switch too.
