Mont lin ma yar or mont oke galay မုန့်လင်မယား or မုန့်အုပ်ကလေး (husband and wife snacks) - Dollops of rice flour batter are added to a large sizzling cast iron pan that resembles a muffin tin. Toppings such as quail eggs, scallions, or roasted chickpeas are added to half of the dollops, and then, like a husband and wife, the two halves are joined to make a little round cake.

There are places in London, that are rat infected, yet we eat in those five star restaurants, in salubrious areas such as Mayfair, Covent Garden and Leicester Square, where I have seen rats and not mice. So, don't talk about the hygiene in Myanmar, where the food is cooked in front of you, and I have seen them clean their hands first. Don't be so quick to be judgemental, when you know very little about the country.
Wonderful food, good , kind hearted people, and great culture. I've never had any stomach problems, and I eat with friends at the roadside places. Get a life!!!! Stop being a bloody wimp!!!!

I can't wait to visit Yangon as my vacation for a month in January 2017. Life style in Myanmar will be a bit challenge for westerners , but for us , we used to it. Lovely nature of people .

Based on my January 2017 experience, I think Myanmar has to upgrade the way how they handle food. Food safe training is needed as Nationwide . Great to watch how they do , but they seem over look of dust and fly. Drinking water system is improving , but still challenge to use disposal paper cups. They still using same cups for public, even in banks and Comercial districts. I hope Myanmar Health Authority can help in cheap- good ways.

Dirty food
These is the kind of cheap tourist that instead of buying a meal for a few extra dollars in a nicer and more hygienic place opts for something like this and end up with severe gastric problems or diarrhea. The smell on these places and the hygiene is terrible. I just got back today from Myanmar, Thailand and China and I would never eat on one of these places, the smell on these areas is terrible. They serve you the food with their hands and at the same time touch the money.

I would never eat at McDo and KFC/TacoB either. The stench from overprocessed food is vomit inducing.
I go where ever the heck I want to go. I just walked by looking for souvenirs. But only forced and with my life in danger I would eat on one of these places. I saw a lot of smelly back packers eating here, no wonder why they smell so bad!
