- Featuring local on the 8's and segments from 2001-2003. Also some from 2004 or 2005. It's a really fun video! You'll be interested! Have fun and enjoy! Videos originally made by ILovestorms, Nick Smith, Tyler Tomasino, and TWC Today.
I guess I'm not the only one here who can spend hours watching the Local's On the 8 here online and as a kid(:
Nope! I did as well. Still miss it
Same with me. Very nostalgic
I used to love the old weather channel as a kid, I dunno why, I'm weird... oh nostalgia
Stephen Colangelo I thought I was the only one. My fave was the thunderatorm cloud icon. You?
Jess Lynn Id have to agree with you!
Loved the XL system can't believe it's been like 20 years since it's rollout
Same as you. I never understand why hahaha
I think it's because TWC has gotten worse over the years and for some like me, it's from when we were young.
I watched TWC religiously around this time. I fondly remember the idents and local forecast music.
There isn't anything I'd like more than to see TWC change back to their format from 5-10 years ago.
Idk why but I ALWAYS watched the Weather Channel when I was a kid back in the early 2000s. Idk if it was the music they used or what, but I always loved checking the local on the 8s.
It's no 90s-era TWC, but still better than today.
The times where The Weather Channel was GOOD.
+Jus Tin Wha- Really? That's funny!
+Jus Tin LOL
Believe it or not, TWC of 2008 was super good! I miss the 2008 one! That's 10 years ago! Yikes!
NOW ITS LIKE A CIRCUS NOW
TOO MANY TWIITER KRAP AND OTHERS
I gotta get the popcorn!
Used to watch The Weather Channel as a kid during the summers. The commercials they used to play and when the announcer came on saying, “currently the temperature is 95 degrees with a thunderstorm”. Takes me back to a simpler time
The post 9/11 local forecast intro at the beginning.
I knew twc since 2016. I wish I known earlier
i miss the old weather channel
I liked the 2008 version, believe it or not! It was after 2008, when it started to not feel right!
But, I thought that the 2009 version, was definitely tolerable. The 2010s, was when it really didn't feel quite right! At least a chunk of the 2010s!
First video courtesy of my old (and terminated) account.
ah the good old days.
I miss this.
i miss when the weather channel screen looked like this,now they made the printing too small and narrow.i like it wider like this.
Song at 4:50 is called Diggable by Marion Meadows
This stuff was my whole life! I used to record all of these on vhs back in the day. Now i dont even get TWC w my cable :(
@stormspotterbob
The name of the song is "Stringbean" by Brian Hughes.
I miss when Weather Channel was like this. I love how one even mentioned PPG in the bottom. I did use to watch that great show at the time as a kid!
Brings back a lot memories. This was always on in my house so I always saw it. I love XL and the early Intellistar before June 2008, but this will always be in my heart.
@TWCMax
The name of the third song is "Samba de Michael" By J. Thompson.
The Weather Channel was very popular with me during my Warren Central years.
I loved watching The Local on the 8's. I don't know why. It may have been because of the music or because I was just a weird kid who liked weather lol.
Dont worry you werent the only kid. I was like this too back in 1998-2009 I was obsessed with the Weather Channel as a child.
Me three, I used to always watch it as I was getting ready for school in the mornings
I MISS THIS!!😥😥
I remember the first song! Back when i used to watch the weather channel non-stop when i was 7.
some of these local on the 8's are still around because when i was in cresson,pa i was watching local on the 8's and had the guy saying currently the temperature is 73 degrees under partly cloudy skies and then for the forcast part he said your forcast
I remember when it was like this. I was only like 9 or 10 years old. Louisville KY the old days
Nexxus Rayne same. I used to watch this 24/7 with my geandma when she was alive until she passed dec 2003 when i was almost 10
I miss the Weather channel on Verizon
I remember some of the songs that played again. The first song was played again in March 2007, I believe, the second was also in November 2007, the 3rd and 4th, I don't know, and the last song played again in December 2005.
Same here but the beeping for the warnings or whatever was annoying
2001=I was still at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield, NH! So, I didn't see TWC quite as much, because of zero cable in Greenfield, NH. Unless I could see it on their satellite, LOL. The classroom I had, since 1999 (or 1998) was a ground floor classroom! It was more likely to get raided by a deer mouse than anything else! O_O
RJARRRPCGP what kind of rehab may i ask? I miss rhis twc so much
Well, a special-needs school, including high-functioning autism, where I still had problems during the elementary school era, but I didn't go there until July 5, 1994 (13) and left on November 11, 2002. (22)
The second one is "Could We Fall In Love" by Craig Chaquico :D LOVE that song!
wow I do like this music. :D I miss the old local on the 8s in the beginning. :D i watch the local on the 8s and write them down and tell my family what's the weather gonna be like and then later on it's different weather

Do you know the name of the first song from 0:29 - 1:58? It's a lost song that I have been trying to find for years. If you could find the artist as well, that would be great.
John Smith stringbean by Brian Hughes
@batistableeds4gold
That's actually one of my personal faves! It is "Diggable" by Marion Meadows.
At 9:18 and 9:20, wouldn't be surprised if that was Amtrak, LOL. I miss that one...
At 8:07, even for December in Vermont, looks like crap, similar to 2010!
I love that music from 9:08 - 9:42 ! :)
What's that song that starts at 4:50?
whats this first song called?
My account was removed!! I'm pissed off!!! To hell with copyrights.
It wasn't because of copyrights. Some troller flagged it and made a bogus claim of child endangerment, which really infuriates me! Not sure about daily motion but I'm going to do whatever it takes to get it back. I have a lawyer who's a friend. They can't prove I did such a thing.
I appealed several times and they didn't accept it. I asked them specifically what I had done and that's what they told me. I'm not 100% sure it was trolled but I have a feeling that chances are, that's what happened because I demonstrated, "Report User" on a channel, then selected the violation" and they give everybody the liberty to do that. I am absolutely furious!!!!! :( :(
does anybody know the name of the song that starts @ 4:50?
Windows 95
I like some of the weather and some I don't like.
@kyuubinyoko Same here!
Anyone know the song at 6:33?
+RobloxMaster642 Exit Sixteen - Kenny Carr
