    Grant, you mentioned 2 cameras toward the end. If we had 2 capture cards, how would we be able to switch camera views without OBS, or does it just show the 2 cameras?

    If I was using a 4K Camera through this device to OBS Studio for Facebook Live, and knowing that Facebook advises highest recommended res of 1920 x 1080 - would I need to lower the camera recording resolution to 1920 x 1080 - or would the Magewell or FB Live itself downscale for me If I shot at 4K ? ( Thanks in advance )

      I think U have to downscale! (Swich in the camara to 1080p)

    I connected my laptop with power point to the Magwell Dongle to wirecast. Wirecast does not see it. Wirecast only see's it if i connect the dongle to a camera. It can not see it from a laptop. I also tried to send a signal from my Nyrius to Magewell to wirecast, it does not see this either. Any advise?

    • @LivestreamAustraliaAuLive
      @LivestreamAustraliaAuLive  5 років тому

      The Magewell will see any input that is within the HD specification. Set your laptop to output 1080p and if it is actually outputting over HDMI your Magewell will see it. Plug your laptop into a TV to ensure you have the output correctly configured

    I've been using the card but the quality of my live stream is awful...
    As the capture card itself is supposed to take the brunt of the power needed... Would it mainly be down to my Internet connection that caused latency issues?

    • @LivestreamAustraliaAuLive
      @LivestreamAustraliaAuLive  6 років тому +1

      Aaron Mitchell - The card has nothing to do with your streaming quality. Let’s unplug your card, choose a pristine pre-shot video, play it out, and use your software to compress and stream it - same poor quality!
      To understand where your issue is, you need to know that your computer has enough power to compress the video and that your network connection has enough bandwidth and low latency to stream the compressed video. As a start, you will need an i7 processor with a decent detonated graphics card to compress the video to a starting resolution of 480p at 1.2Mbps. Then you will need a minimum 5Mbps upload speed with a maximum latency of 100 ms. Use speedtest.net to check your speed.

      Latency into the computer is a few frames and streaming latency is down to internet protocols

    Hello, it is possible to connect the computer output to the USB C of a phone with Android operating system. And if it is possible that App. Would use for live broadcasts on UA-cam or Faceboock.
    Thank you

    hello,
    Which one do you recommend me to buy if i need to use it for webminar skype, USB Capture HDMI Plus or USB Capture HDMI gen 2 ?
    Actually I am interested to choose "USB Capture HDMI gen 2" bcs it looks simple and cheaper. However i can not found the audio in/out there. Is it (USB Capture HDMI gen 2) support the in/out audio too? and both of them support, which one better i use for webminar broadcast which help in the ballroom?
    Thanks for your advice :)

    I'm a little baffled... My old Camcorder runs on Firewire with 1384. I need an extension where one side is female, to get that Firewire up to USB, so I can convert to HMDI. I think? Is this possible? Could you tell me what type of adapter I need?
    I've got $1000s of dollars of EXCELLENT JUNK that I need to revive.
    Thanks so very much!

    If you are recording directly into the computer instead of the normal SD card way will the recording quality then be lower?

  • @joshhayes8240

    Forgive me for perhaps an ignorant question: so is this device actually capturing anything on it's own? Like if you didn't have it hooked up to a computer and you had a camera or a switcher running into it, can you just hit a record button or something? The streaming capability is awesome, but for me that comes later. I'm just looking for a reliable capture device.
    My setup is going to be out of my ATEM switcher (technically it would be the Madewell USB Capture SDI not HDMI but there's comments on this video and not the other one) and into a capture device that I need to record perfectly at a professional level.
    *I have a new MacBook Pro so it's not that I don't have a computer, I'm just trying to figure out exactly what the device does.and how much of the load it handles.
