She was under the assassins and well known. It would seem plausible that the Templars would have assembled a massive fleet of Men'o'war. The wood thing is off. Ship's would frequently see timbers replaced. The Jackdaw would have had to have faced an impossible foe to be sent down.
Legend has it that the legendary pirate Edward Kenway's mighty ship the Jackdaw did battle with a tremendous fleet for 10 days amongst a hurricane. Said fleet consisted of 8 Man-O-Wars, 15 Frigates, 30 Brigs, and over a hundred gunboats. The Jackdaw and the Fleet destroyed each other and the hurricane swept the wreckage of the mighty fleet away. Alas not even the most violent storm could move the Jackdaw whose mighty balls sunk it to the bottom of the ocean.

Useless assassins didn't take care of her took me so long to get all the metal and wood to fully upgrade that ship then some novice captain just carelessly loses to a schooner.
Black Flag is definitely the best assassin's creed game ever....we deserve a pirate game centered around the golden age of piracy with the same gameplay elements from Black Flag, except i would like it to be more customizable ie...i would like to have a choice at the beginning of the game to chose what type of ship i would use throughout the game.
Dare To Game and not just a bright. I mean in the sequence when you get the ship there's a perfectly good man o war right beside the bright. Guess Edward wanted to be inconspicuous
I say it was sunk by a storm history repeats itself it suffered its gate the same way it got its reputation escaping a huricaine and not to mention that the captain probably sucked everyone's ars compared to a kenway
Whoever was the captain of the ship was stupid. He couldve just incapacitate one ship and try to do the same with the others then board and repair if the health is down. Smh
Now, forgive me if I'm wrong, but as you upgrade the ship, you replace the figurehead, right? It's not confirmed that the wreckage is, in fact, the Jackdaw; it could be that the figurehead had been sold, and used on another ship. I choose to believe that the Jackdaw may actually be intact somewhere, safely beached in some hidden cave for a future assassin to find.
No, it was the Jackdaw that sunk - in the wreckage you can even find the name plate at the back of the ship (or what's left of it). Oddly though, the pieces of the wreckage do not resemble the model of the Jackdaw, but I think that was just the developers' laziness and they re-used generic wreckage models. But still, the name plate and the figurehead confirm that the Jackdaw sunk.
Sadly Jackdaw had eventually to be taken down, as Fizhy said, in time, the wood would rot on it, so by the time Connor was born and so, Jackdaw would've been falling apart on it's own...
4:49 “The Jackdaw could also have been sunk by a storm” That is very possible considering I saw a single water spout absolutely annihilate One of those merchant convoys or whatever the heck they were, It didn’t completely sync them, But they put them in perfect boarding condition. Which is how I got my first man-of-war In my fleet when I was Still not quite ready to fight them yet. Fortune surely favored me at that moment
Man this really makes me wish they did a follow-up. A DLC based on the fall of the Jackdaw. Really liked Edwards character and the pirate/assassin story. They could have done so much with this one but they never did. I'm really hoping Bayek won't suffer the same fate as some of these characters because there's a trilogy worthy story here. Heck, they could have even done a book or graphic novel to tell the end of Edwards story and the Jackdaw's.
It's also possible that the Jackdaw may have been scuttled, and there is circumstantial evidence to support this. Open water, no obstructions, a marked absence of battle damage of the kind described in the video. I mean hell, the mortars on a man-o-war could blast most other ships to kindling, and if it was a fleet all firing mortars at her at once, as posited in the video, there's a better than even chance there wouldn't have been a ship to explore and salvage. I have no doubt that the ship went down in battle, but my personal theory is that she was boarded, and her captain chose to blow what was left of her magazine, rather than surrender the Jackdaw to the Templars. considering she had an arsenal on her that could outclass most fleets of the period, and if we assume much of that arsenal was exhausted in the fight, that could explain the relatively intact shape we find her in. Just my two cents. Thanks for the vids.
The new captain and crew of the Jackdaw probably didn't know exactly how to use the Jackdaw to its full capabilities. For all we know, a band of drunken pirates could've come upon it, took it, then immediately got themselves sunk. Sort of like how Lance's recreation of Leonardo da Vinci's flying machine immediately crashed when Connor tried to use it. They didn't know the machine needed fires beneath the machine to lift it. Plus, the winds around the coastal cliffs of the homestead were likely much fiercer than those around the Doge's palazzo in Venice.
I love Assassin's Creed 4.. Not the best story, but still a really good fun game :D Hopefully Origions will be as good and fun as Black Flag, but have as good of a story as AC 1, And all of the Ezio trilogy!
ezio trilogy was boring as hell. although i was damn excited about the modern day. the trilogy got fairly repetetive, and ezio's charisma is greatly exagerated.
i do like the game. just think it isn't a pinnacle of wonder. i feel like black flag and syndicate did a good job maintaining the ancestor part, as it kept it exciting and filled me with adrenaline.
TheEzio trilogy are the best Assassin's creed games. IMO Loved the story also I don't get why people didn't want the mordern day lol you cant have the assassins creed games without the modern day story lol also Iloved the modern day too I get where you're coming fom but I love Ezio gamems so much In ranking orde of best assains creed games starting from the best. 1. AC 2 2. AC Brotherood 3. AC Revelations (I class ezio trilogy as one game tough so take that into account lol) 4. AC 1 5. AC IV Black Flag (better story would've been better but still the most fun ;D ) 6. AC 3 (i don't get te hate the story in this was amazing) 7. AC Rouge 8. AC Unitiy (ad good story but glitchy af) 9. AC Syndicte 10 all the dlc wich should have been in the game besides from Freedom cry which was like it's own game. 11. multiplayer - no -one wants this. hopefully origons is great, I hoe it takes the best parts of every other Ac game, and mushes it into one giant masterpiece. I don't really like the idea of it being a Witcher 3 copy, like they're saying :P
I agree with you too :) Though I do think the story in black flag was kind of reppetitive and very '' from point A to B'' also the modern day could've been better - btw I fucking love AC 4 so damn much lol just more story would've been even better :D
I'm gonna miss Edward, the Jackdaw and Kidd. All served me well as a kid and through lockdown on my 5th play through...Kid's death is second saddest with Blackbeard having the saddest death
A few things to keep in mind when you mention the age of the ship is that it was almost constantly in battle, taking damage every time. Every time it received damage, the damaged parts would be removed and replaced with brand new timber. So even though the ship does age, it is constantly being renovated and repaired so its condition would always be near perfect. Also, If it were fully upgraded by Edward, which it probably was by the time he returned to England, it would have had a hull that was completely reinforced. Not only protecting it from incoming damage, but also holding it together and possibly even water proofing it. When fully upgraded, the Jackdaw had a crap load of cannons and fire barrels on board and so would have had huge amounts of gunpowder stuffed in to any available space. Even with all of its armor, the decks were simple timber so, as you say, mortars would be devastating as they would be hitting unprotected wood - a massive weak spot when you consider just how big and open the decks are. If a mortar hit the deck, causing a hole and setting some of the deck wood on fire, that piece of wood could fall below deck and ignite the gunpowder, causing a chain reaction and blowing the Jackdaw up from the inside. That's what I think happened to it. Think of the Jackdaw as one of the legendary ships. Each one has a specific strategy to take it down. With the Jackdaw that strategy would be - Do not let it chase you. Avoid its chase cannons or else it will tear through your sails and you'd be a sitting duck. Do not get along side it. Extremely high number of high damaging cannons will destroy your hull in a single pass - Getting close to its side is a major no no as it will destroy you with heavy cannons. Avoid its mortar. Nuff said. How to kill it - Get behind it. With no weapons to cover its rear other than fire barrels and mortar, its rear is its weakness. Destroy any fire barrels it drops with chase cannons. Avoid its mortar. Try to predict its movements so you can stay behind and not end up along side it. Chain shot for days! Take out its sails to stop it fleeing. Avoid its mortar! Mortar it! Avoid its Mortar!! Mortar it again! *AVOID ITS MORTAR!!* Finish it with some mortars. With that said, I was so disappointed that the Jackdaw wasn't a hidden legendary ship in Rogue. But, we don't know if the Jackdaw was fully upgraded when it was sunk. With its most active days behind it, it could have been stripped down or had some upgrades removed. Some cannons and armor could have been transferred to other ships, even some of the beds could have been removed so the number of crew it could hold would be lessened. It could be possible that the Jackdaw was downgraded to a degree that even another Brig could take it out, especially if it were sailed by a less skilled captain. Don't forget that the Hunter ships were more heavily armed and armored than regular navy ships.
You said The Jackdaw was donated to the brotherhood.. meaning Edward is no longer her captain.. so that's why she was sunk by the other ship. *Jackdaw will not be the most powerful ship if her captain is not Edward Kenway* (this is just my opinion tho)
@@americantemplar6553 Imagine if the real Jackdaw in AC history could instantaneously repair in the middle of a naval battle by boarding and capturing ships, during which the enemy fleet will mysteriously stop firing.
Imagine being one of jackdaw's crewmates and just recently heard the news that the ship you've been sailing with your captain has sunk.. I would cry for like an eternity if that happens.
Haytham Kenway was born on the 4th of December, 1725. Edward Kenway was assassinated by order of Templar Grand Master Reginald Birch, sometime in November 1735. Haytham Kenway lost his father at the age of 9.
the Jackdaw shipwreck in Freedom Cry isn't exactly like any ship. If you go behind the ship you'll see that it's written "JACKDAW" where every ship's name usually is.
See what happened was It flew up into the air somehow Cuz physics And then a sinkhole appeared underneath it underwater And it sunk That's how it sunk Totally
After destroyed El Impoluto, it felt like Edward and Jackdaw together they are almost invincible. Well, fought several Ma o' War right after that, they were actually invincible.
One thing you missed was in assassins creed syndicate when you go to the Kenway manor and find the secret room that has a large amount of the Jackdaws things like the wheel. Which means that someone (possibly Kenway) had to have gone to retrieve the items in order for them to be there which means that it may have been Edward himself who defeated the Jackdaw in naval combat for a reason that is obviously unknown. Possibly someone stole his ship and he wanted to defeat them or the captain of the ship and gone too far as the ways of the pirate but either way someone had to have gone to retrieve these items.
Will it be asking for too much? Another Edward Kenway centered game?! I for one believe that AC 4 is the best game from the franchise. And Id love another life with me playing Captain Kenway!
Imagine The Spanish and British just teaming up because they understand how powerful the jackdaw is, but Edward Kenway finds out and recruits some of the best pirates and their fleets so theirs just an all out war.
Large fleet is likely. The Jackdaw might be exaggerated but at full upgrade I fearlessly attack Man'O'War's. There's even been a time where they just kept coming and at the end i was still nearly full health with 4 of them to loot.
Being one of my all time favorite games and being Truly A master piece. im quite sad that jackdaw sank. It feels like it was ours. Not just as an in game thing but truly belongs to the players who made it the terror of the sea
Assassin's Creed Black Flag was one of my favorite AC games. Mostly because of the ship features. You could get a crew, board and plunder ships, control a ship and shoot cannons, it was amazing.
Personally I believe it was sunk by the crew. Buried at sea by a young haythem kenway or the loyal crew putting the captain to rest. In the novel edward was retired in england where he lived out his days with haythem until he was murdered by templars. It would only make sense to me that the remaining crew or at this time adawale wouldve put the old hacksaw to rest by a burial at sea. You said so yourself and even blackbeard that the ship was the most feared. So who else would tuck it away then the crew not wanting anyone to find it. Its too bad ubisoft didnt use this for a scene in the game where you go to find this ship to recover memories.
Wouldnt have taken a fleet. One ship with a lot of marines to get close and board them. Without Kenway and Ade fighting 'er the crew and captain were probably overcome and the ship was scuttled.
The jackdaw would sink the morrigan in 2 minutes then shay would move to land and edward would follow. Edward would beat the shit out of the traitor. edward would take his head and mount it it the assassin hide out in london. (If edward had lived longer)
The Fortuned Eagle....thats bullshit....Morrigan and Shay would beat the.hell out of Jackdaw and Edward.....Moreover Shay had his reasons to betray the assassin's brotherhood....if Achilles had listen to shay the whole calamity could have been.avoided...it was the brotherhood who betrayed shay..
His last comment sums up how I felt perfectly. Upgraded the ever living out of her. Took her on countless voyages across the Caribbean. Sank fleet after fleet of Spanish and British galleons. Banished the Legendary scares OF THE SEA TO DAVY JONES!......All for her to plummet down to the drink 😔 Here’s to ya lads! 🍷
one of the few gems that came out on the ps4 launch. I loved this game, it quickly became my favorite in the series. I had a blast exploring the Caribbean, ship combat, total freedom , discovering new secrets, diving for new ship parts , a really stellar game in the franchise.
The jackdaw eats schooners as breakfast cereal, uses brigs as toilet paper, and creams frigates. I reckon maybe a fleet of 2 men O’ war, 3 frigates, 5 brigs and 25 schooners to sink it.
I'd argue it would take 3-4 ships on par with legendary ships to take it out. I mean it would be expensive to send but the templars practically have infinite money and that ship, the very ship that near singlehandedly crippled them in the east indies, was now officially an assasssin ship as Edward gave it to them. I could see that happening.
well he did donate it to the brotherhood, maybe they had "special cargo" like a piece of eden and a Templar fleet attacked them took the artifact and sailed to wherever there base was I think it would make the most sense
"I spent ages upgrading that ship, and I did not do it to sink" yeah i feel you. spent almost half a day finding and upgrading it up to elite but to find out it will sink in the near future.
As a potentially more sad alternative; It's also very possible due to the occurrences of devastating storms and powerful waves, whoever ended up captaining the ship was either a complete inexperienced newbie, their crew were extremely incompetent and/or the storms were too strong for them to withstand... It simply may have capsized and sunk without even having a chance to fight thanks to a random act of god
Its my personal head canon that because you can replace the Jackdaws wheel with another that he replaced it with The Queen Anne Revenges wheel (since you can get it) as a tribute to his old friend and kept the original wheel for himself for his house.
Just a side note or extra thought that is a little easier to swallow is also the jackdaw may have been scuttled to prevent it falling into other hands. For or those of you unfamiliar, scuttling is when a Captain or crew destroy their own ship at will.
Just for those of you who think that's the Jackdaw at the start of the Freedom Cry DLC, it's not.

That's a pity, that ship seemed to be like Jackdaw, and the storm at the beginning of FC was placed somewhere nearby where the shipwreck was located.

Fizhy, nice video, I have a question did you dig as deep as you could to find out what happened to the Jackdaw.

The wood thing is off. Ship's would frequently see timbers replaced. The Jackdaw would have had to have faced an impossible foe to be sent down.

When your in the middle of a pirate battle but ur girl says her parent's aren't home
Seeing the Jackdaw on the ocean bed just bums me out. My favorite game of all time. So sad.
I kept the assassins creed 4 on my xbox hard rive because I dont want the Jackday or Edward to become a memory but something that still feels alive to me. I just feel an emotional connection with that even more so than my other favorite games

Canonically, all the cosmetic items you begin with are the ones that belong to the Jackdaw.
I mean at the back of the wreckage it does say "Jackdaw".
Sadly Jackdaw had eventually to be taken down, as Fizhy said, in time, the wood would rot on it, so by the time Connor was born and so, Jackdaw would've been falling apart on it's own...
SonOfMyths73 then you're a fool
“The jackdaw could have been sunk by a storm” despite the fact it makes it through a hurricane with no damage.
Two specific songs pop up in my head when I hear of the Jackdaw's fate: "Leave Her, Johnny" and "Padstow's Farewell".
"Coincidence? YES!" was the best moment of this whole video.

"Other than that, it's just a normal shipwreck...and just like all shipwreck: sharks are assholes"
With the Jackdaw that strategy would be -
Do not let it chase you.
Nuff said.
How to kill it -
Get behind it.
*AVOID ITS MORTAR!!*
Finish it with some mortars.
That would explain why JACKDAW is in two pieces when Ade went down there
As someone who sails tall ships and has been in tall ship battles irl, can confirm jackdaw is OP
5:59 - that knock, wtf? :L
I mean the way Edward died is something we can stop easily but we werent Edward when he died that can be said about the Jackdaw too

After destroyed El Impoluto, it felt like Edward and Jackdaw together they are almost invincible. Well, fought several Ma o' War right after that, they were actually invincible.
After your stream last night i looked up what happened to the jackdaw lmao

I love the detail of Edward and The Jackdaw going down the same year, the captain went down with his ship.
I believe it crashed itself to keep it out of templars hands
Or Edward’s final order or last will is to “scuttle” it to keep it out of Templar hands.

Dude i like how you explaining, with a joke or funny stuff , you make my day 🤣
The Jackdaw sank in one of my favorite Man o' War hunting areas as well!
I just subbed. The way you tell stories is amazing
well he did donate it to the brotherhood, maybe they had "special cargo" like a piece of eden and a Templar fleet attacked them took the artifact and sailed to wherever there base was I think it would make the most sense

@@americantemplar6553 he's saying about the ship at the beginning of Freedom Cry DLC. That's Victoire, Adewale's ship before the storm sunk it.
3:13 that line made my day 20 times better
Assuming this is not exaggerating. When you fully upgraded the Jackdaws hull it is plated with gold.
