I got this about a month ago, has worked well so far though I have not needed it for a power outage. I bought it because I had a power outage and my florescent lantern didn't work. It worked ever time I tested it, but when I needed it, it didn't work. This is much more practical. It is smaller, lighter and last way longer. The dimming and warm/cool setting are really good features.

Thanks a bunch for the review. I had been searching far and wide for a camping lantern that had a warm light similar to the vintage Coleman gas lanterns. I absolutely *hate* the cold LED color of more LED lamps and have had trouble in the past with getting to sleep when using those. When I'm out in the woods, I like to lay down and read for an hour or so before going to bed, but really, really greatly prefer a warm colored light over the cold LED stuff. This looks like a winner to me. Thanks again!

I noticed all the PWM flickering your camera picked up especially in the dimmest mode. I know you mostly can't see that in reality but a good test is if you wave your hand quickly in front of the light and notice some flicking it can be enough to give some people a headache. I was considering the BLF LT1 as a modern lantern with no PWM circuit and also has warm and cool white LEDs! I have some high end flashlights and many don't use slow PWM anymore. I hope more lanterns go that direction.

Hi. I just wanted to say thanks for showing the 'dimmable' function on this lantern. I have a few of these, for power-cuts, etc (plus one in my garden shed), and I didn't know you could reduce the brightness! The instructions weren't very good, so I would never have discovered this feature if it weren't for your video :) So far ive found them to be an excellent product - way brighter than my old CFL battery lights, and really good battery life, too.

Dave Plews being a prepper, duration is important to me.
On warm light on lowest setting I turned it off after running 6 days straight

Amazon has a sale on this as there is a rechargeable version now. So I purchased three of the d cells versions. 8000 mah vs 10,000 x 3 D rechargeable cells.

A lot of reviews are saying there's a constant flashing light when batteries are installed. Can you describe the location of this flashing light (if any); is it the button itself that blinks, or is it a tiny light that can be covered with electrical tape?

szchicken there is no flashing light of any kind

Mine doesn't have a flashing light. I'm wondering if the flashing/blinking light may be a problem they had in earlier models, which they fixed?

They removed that a couple of years ago and rightfully so. If it was to find in the dark they should have put some type of glow in the dark button instead of having a flashing light.
