Do you have a link for your other video involving reapplying the thermal paste? I want to have a rough idea of what to do before I start ordering tools and parts.
This is a common issue with alot of consoles. It gets hot and sometimes one or more of the solder balls looses connection. If this doesn't happen to work then it needs to be re ball'd. This fix should be considered temporary although you may get lucky and have it last a long time. If this happens to you I strongly suggest adding new thermal paste along with your repair.
@@freshprince2.0 what your seeing here is not a fix and 90% of the time the console has been dropped and what happens is the apu the chip ends up with no connection to the board and sometimes inside the apu gets damaged if it's a solder joint it need removed and solder back down and that doesn't always work but what your seeing here is not a fix even if it works its still not a fix not a damn thing was repaired all your seeing is bs from youtubers that usually cause a young person to break there stuff beyond being repaired

This video is out of order. Putting a washer on your PS4 is going to make it worse! The APU needs REBALLING, not a tiny washer putting even more uneven pressure on the solder balls to make it rip traces up as time goes on. Not to mention warping the motherboard so it ends up beyond repair when the console does die again... AND IT WILL!
Look, i know that fix works most of the time but the ps4 you fixed and the one you turned on at the end looks like 2 differnet consoles. The one at the end of the video looks white but can probably be the lighting however that one has a chip on the front panel and the black one you were working on did not. HONESTLY I am not a hater just feel like your initial fix on the first part of your video did not work?

Hey i have a different problem. My ps starts with the checking system storage status it completes that and then restarts with the blue light of death . I tried reinitiallizing from safe mode and just restarts amd give me the blod again . Also i tried your method with washer and i still have the problem . What i have to do?
After I changed the thermal paste I reassembled it and when I turned it on there was a bip and the blue light turn on but after 2 or 3 seconds it turned off and I don’t know what to do, I’ve also noticed that the power supply was a stuck

Bro same. I’m able to sometimes play the console, but it’s a never ending cycle of what you explained. Some days it works, some days it doesn’t. I’m fixing to go to Harbour Freights and get the tools, and if it fixes the console by the time I’m done. I’ll let you know!

I've got this model and some days i'll turn on the ps4 and it beeps, blue light flashes then turns off immediately. I'll leave it for about 15-20 hours and it works for a while. Is this still considered BLOFD? I cleaned out the air filter and replaced the thermite paste like instructed in the other video, the only thing I haven't tried is putting these washers on. In my case do you really think this idea would be effective? I dont want to buy this whole kit and waste my money. This has been draining enough dealing with this crap.
Problem is these companies skimp on cooling. Had Microsoft put a bigger cooler on the OG 360 the RROD wouldn't be a thing. Same with Sony and the PS3/PS4. Wish these companies would add fan adjustment in the settings, but have a minimum so people don't burn their systems up. I don't mind a little noise if my system stays cool.
I tried 2 washers and still has not worked it beeps for 1 second light turns blue on for one second and then turns off automatically after that one second i need some help please anyone?
Probably the wrong spec washers but if they are the right one bought from our link you could have an issue with the APU chip itself or the motherboard.
You can perform a reball to fix the issue but the problem might reoccur. Since lots of times the soldering on the APU itself is faulty. Replacing the APU chip on a PS4 also involves replacing 8 other chips that are paired to it. This makes it impractical and straight out uneconomical for a now outdated console.

Its adds pressure on the APU chip which causes it to make contact with the board again (if solder balls underneath were the issue)

For sure this is only an intermediate solution. It may last for 2 days or for a year. There is already a definite problem with the APU solder joints.

Try a heat gun on the main board to re melt the solder on the main processor

Also my PS4 won't enter safe mode. I hold the button for 7 seconds, and it just turns back off.

Probably the wrong spec washers but if they are the right one bought from our link you could have an issue with the APU chip itself or the motherboard.
Went to a professional and they said this is absolutely the wrong thing to do for this
You can perform a reball to fix the issue but the problem might reoccur. Since lots of times the soldering on the APU itself is faulty. Replacing the APU chip on a PS4 also involves replacing 8 other chips that are paired to it. This makes it impractical and straight out uneconomical for a now outdated console.
