- I was lucky enough that Richard Heeres asked me to try his new Semi-hollow model: “Blue”.
You can check out the specs of it on Heeres Custom Guitars Website here: bit.ly/BlueHeer...
Beautiful guitar that sounds and plays amazing, but you can check it out in the video.

Some of it is how to play jazz guitar, but other videos are more on Music Theory like Jazz Chords or advice on how to practice and learn Jazz, on guitar or any other instrument.
The videos are mostly jazz guitar lessons, but also music theory, analysis of songs and videos on jazz guitars.

What do you think?
I am playing the new "Blue" guitar from Heeres Custom Guitars. If you want to check out more about the guitar then you can do so here: bit.ly/BlueHeeresGuitar
The arrangement in this video is available for download here: jenslarsen.nl/i-fall-in-love-too-easily-heeres-custom-guitars-blue/
Mr Larsen thank u 4 everything u share and u upload.
I really appreciate u and ur work and love 4 music!
Nice guitar and amazing arrangement!
@@kotzini Thank you :)
The music is not in the guitar, it's in the fingers pulling the strings. The guitar sounds nice. Let me play it. It won't sound anything like it did here :(
Beautiful - Chet Baker is smiling down from heaven and wants to sing the last chorus :-)
Would have been fitting with a ghost vocalist for halloween :D
Chet's vocal version was my intro to this tune. It is sublime.
What an incredible occasion to hear you play this lovely tune. The guitar is outstanding but it would have been nothing without your input. Refreshing and soulful. My compliments.
Thank you Ben!
This is so beautiful!! PLEASE PLEASE let us hear you playing more full pieces!!
Thank You !!
Thank you! I actually have a playlist of chord melody playing already: ua-cam.com/video/dZa0CVLZ7kE/v-deo.html
Please do more of you playing a tune like this. It is really soothing and the close up when you play it helps to spark some ideas. Thanks Mr. Larsen
Thank you Danny!
I have tons of videos on my playing on the channel, but you have to go look at the channel to see them. I actually almost stopped posting them 2 years ago because my audience is not that interested in videos like that, and the data doesn't lie :)
A great pleasure listening to you Jens, a fantastic sounding instrument, but let us not forget the years of dedication and hard work this gentleman has put in, fantastic man, greetings Vic
I hope that in the years, and decades to come, that this channel is revered for it's intrinsic value. Due to an unfortunate lifestyle, I haven't played guitar for about 8 years, but I am purchasing all new gear next Saturday. I have many of Jens uploads bookmarked and I can't wait to fill in the gaps that may have eluded me over the years. I wish Jens lived next door to me.
best of luck man! getting back to something difficult to do is really tough, props for that
Beautiful guitar and amazing playing ☕️☕️
Thank you! :)
I'm not a jazz guitar player, but I 've learnt a bunch of music tools from your videos that I've incorporated them in my compositions!
Thumbs up for both the guitar and the player!
Glad you like it! :)
I don't know which I like more ...
this, or your acoustic rendition of
smoke on the water!
O.K. THIS!!!
Haha! Thanks Wayne :) Good to see you drop by in the comments
Besides sounding great, with plenty of clarity, it also looks gorgeous. So easy to fall in love with such a thing.
Couldn't agree more!
That's amazingly solid, mellow dramatic, funky groove, for lack of better words. I'm completely relaxed in front of my computer at home after a pretty tuff and mentally draining day at work.
Thank you, Mr. L, for sharing your amazing skills and for always being so welcoming.
Glad you like it, Juan 🙂
Wow, that´s for sure one of the best sounding Jazz-Guitartones i´ve heard. Absolutely stunning Sound. Clear, warm, singing Sustain without End. Just lovely!
Thank you! It is a great guitar! :)
That guitar is beautiful man! Sound and tone is really amazing for this masterpiece!
Thank you RC :)
@@JensLarsen Ahh you are welcome indeed!
probably the best "love song" ever written. Lyrics are just stunning. Great job!!
Thank you very much! :)
Beautiful and played smoother than butter!
Thank you very much!
A fine arrangement, well played. Thanks for posting... you do justice to the song and make the guitar sound good at the same time!
Thank you, Michael 🙂
very beautiful sound with this guitar and of course with a great guitar player
Thank you! :)
To hear & see your guitar playing is affirming and an inspiration. My uncle played this way. Often I fear we're losing real guitar playing. George Van Eps; Hank Garland, Chet . . . .
Thank you 🙂
Not only is you're technique is superb, but your timing is immaculate! Metheny has said that timing is what separates the really cool cats from the rest of the pack - so kudos to you Jens! :)
Thank you very much Ricky!
I have enjoyed listening to your playing, when I have looked at the video I have seen that beautiful guitar, what a beauty!
Sounds really good. And it seems so confortable
Thanks Miguel! Yes it is very comfortable to play!
Congrats to 150K!!!
Thank you Peter! :) I guess I dare to celebrate now. YT was announcing that they would clean up fake accounts so I didn't dare to go 150K!!!! because it might suddenly be 149K again :D
Don’t worry! It’s 151 now!
Very sweet. Pleasure to listen to.
Thank you Ricky :)
Odd looking at first, but it grows on you!!!! The sound (and the player) make it all exceptional.
That was exactly how I felt :) But it plays so well!
Really nice to just watch and listen to you play. Beautiful guitar as well.
Thank you very much Dan!
Really nice to hear you play a whole piece....really well played.....with a beautiful sounding guitar. Thanks a lot❗️👍
Glad you like it!
More pure playing videos from Jens, please! :)
I love the lessons but this was awesome too.
Thank you Sam!
I have tons of videos on my playing on the channel, but you have to go look at the channel to see them. I actually almost stopped posting them 2 years ago because my audience is not that interested in videos like that, and the data doesn't lie :)
Truly a work of art, both music and the guitar!
Thank you very much Sergej!
I am surprised I missed this video 6 months ago. Beautiful. Jens, you make that guitar look and sound so easy to play. "Like butta" I think they would say around here
Thank you Jeff! Glad you like it! Don't forget to check out the PDF if you are interested 🙂
Wonderful guitar and excellent playing. Thanks for sharing, Jens.
Just awesome, Jens! (the guitar too)
Thank you Brad!
Thank you Jens! beautiful guitar btw ;)
You're welcome! Glad you like it!
Beautiful Jens👍🏽🤓
Wow Those chord melodies with rich chords sounds good seems very hard.Amazing playing.Sounds very soft.
Thank you Mert! It is a great song so it is easy to get it to sound good :)
Thanks you for giving us a beautiful piece of Chet Baker
Glad you like it! It isn't actually a Chet Baker piece, it is a regular standard by Jules Styne
You make it look easy.
Thank you! :)
Excellent playing, Jens!
Thanks Jay!
Jeez, what an axe! Great playing man!
Thank you! :)
One of my most favorite songs performed more than nicely. Bravo!
Thank you very much, Bill 🙂
Wow.
Fantastic. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Mike!
Glad you like it!
Lovely playing jens! Real pleasure to listen to
Very nice guitar and playing
Thank you, Mikko 🙂
Well, I know what I am learning this week. Also, I really like the looks of that guitar. I am not advanced enough to discuss whether the tone is good beyond "I like it", but the bodies styling, visual weight, lines, and make all scream originality and quality. Bravo Maestro!
Thank you, Ryan! It is indeed a great guitar. I had trouble putting it down when I got it :D
@@JensLarsen And even a guitar as nice has that is switched to the neck position! :-)
video design + image look AWESOME here . Great audio as always
Thank you, Hector 🙂
Beautifull playing. Love this tune.
Glad you like it!
Great , player and guitar !!!!!!
Absolutely beautiful Jens, guitar is sweet as well
Thank you Dean!
This is one thing that I missed in your channel: you playing. And OMG how you play beautifully!!!
Correct me if I am wrong, but is there some brazilian rhythms in some moments?
Awesome!!! Please post more of you playing!!!
Thank you! Yes there is some understated samba happening.
I have tons of videos on my playing on the channel, but you have to go look at the channel to see them. I actually almost stopped posting them 2 years ago because my audience is not that interested in that. The Data doesn't lie :)
Hahahaha it's a shame! Thank you for the great content. 😃
Beautiful, Jens! Thank you for sharing this!!
You're very welcome!
Gracias por tus videos maestro una inspiración para mi que me a llevado a empezar aprender esta hermosa musica
Excellent Jens. I could get used to hearing more of that.
Thanks Tom! :)
That was nothing short of SUPERB Jens, and that Heeres sounds sweet.......but about midway through, I started hearing how it could easily be a quiet bossa nova tune. Don’t know if you ever play an acoustic nylon string, but I would wanna be there when and if you ever did !!!
It is actually a sort of double time latin. That is also how it is transcribed if you check out the (free) download :)
Absolutely beautiful playing!
Thank you very much! I am glad you like it!
Beautiful playing! Love this!
Thank you 🙂
Thank you so much Jens, you are such an inspiration!
You're very welcome! I am glad you like it! 🙂
Beautiful, thank you.
Glad you like it Peter!
Yeah man, killing it!
Glad you like it!
Beautiful, nice tone, nice play
Thank you Robert!
Beautiful Guitar.
It certainy is!
Stunning
Thank you!
Beautiful
i love this song. it sounds really nice
It is a great song! 🙂
It sounds really sweet
Thank you Raymond!
beautiful playing
Thank you!
Beautiful!
Thank you 🙂
A pretty tune, looks like you've fallen in love with your new guitar Jens!
Thank you Anthony. It is not my guitar, I am afraid I have to give it back 🙂
Another gem! 👍🏼🎼
Thank you José!
One of my favorite standards.
Certainly also one of mine :)
Beautiful arrangement! Gonna steal some for sure
Go for it!
Lovely piece. The guitar really sounds great too. I like that it has a little lower profile too.
I love my ES-335 but there are times I'd like it to shrink a little bit haha.
Thank you! It is a great guitar for sure!
beautiful
Thank you!
Masterful playing!
The tailpiece on the guitar is interesting. It is ebony but on first glance I thought it was some metal alloy that has special acoustic properties.
What’s the width at the nut? Heere’s website doesn’t mention it, so I assume it is fairly standard.
Thank you Dovid! I don't know what the width of the nut is, you should ask Richard. If you send him a mail or ask on Facebook I am sure he will tell you :)
You got it, Jens :-)
So many highs ringing out from that humbucker! Did you use any reverb?
Thanks! Yes, the humbuckers are really nice and articulate and not muddy at all :)
I am using reverb, just what I usually do, this is in fact my normal AX8 patch
Sounds like those pickups have some nice bite to them. What's your signal chain on this? DI? Really nice. Great performance, too.
It's my usual signal chain: Guitar - Fractal Audio AX8 - DAW :)
@@JensLarsen That thing sounds good! Like it's really coming through speaker cones and transistors or tubes. Nice.
Nice song! Thank you very much Jens, do you have the music to read it and play it? Could you send it please? Thanks in advance. Coul you play the song: "Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans", "When I Fall in Love"....and some other jazz standards...
Thank you Hector! You can get the sheet music here: jenslarsen.nl/i-fall-in-love-too-easily-heeres-custom-guitars-blue/
Nice playing and sound, the looks of the guitar I will have to think about some more...It's not conventional, that's for sure!
Chet baker and Russ Freeman's collaboration on "Chet Baker Sings" is quite possibly the best album of all time
That is a great album! :)
AMAZING!
Thank you!
Love your videos! Thank you :')
Maravilloso Jens, que forma de tocar tan técnica, tan pasional.
Thank you!
Great tune!! Great playing!! I feel as a non guitarist that the tone of that guitar is not as warm as your Ibanez, bell like tones but perhaps a bit too much mids and highs? Again I’m not a guitar player.
Thank you Brett! It is a different sounds than the Ibanez, more like a solid body. I actually think it has less mids than the Ibanez.
Hermoso sonido , extraña apariencia .
Thank you!
Very nice, Jens. Kinda reminds me of Walter Rodrigues Jr.
Nice .
Thank you!
Wow love this sound if I had the money I'd like to buy one I have a Korean epi black Sheraton 2000 with Seymour Duncan but it's so heavy I'd like a smaller body lighter semi hollowbody like the blue
It is indeed a beautiful instrument!
The guitar sounds beautiful...but in fairness, I think Jens could make any guitar sound great.
Magnifique 👏👏👏👏
Thank you Tony!
Nice
nice version ! do you know Philip Catherine's one ? on the album "Oscar "
Thanks! I don't know that album :)
I want your guitar ..... FANTASTIC 😍
Thank you! This is not my guitar, I borrowed it from the Luthier, Richard Heeres: Check him out!
@@JensLarsen I'll do just that ... Now that, I have your attention!!!... have you ever heard of a Bossa Nova cover called, "that's what she say",
by: manfredo fest ...
I would love for you to help me figure, the score out for it .. check it out ..
@@JensLarsen she's still a real beaut !!!!!!! ❤️ I'mma call her, "STELLA NATURAL"
You are my fav.
Super!
Thank you very much!
That's an extremely sexy guitar, and the guitar player is awesome as well 😉
Haha Thanks Mila 🙂
I enjoy speculating that Mr. Larsen uses music to translate his mathematical mind into emotional expression. He is an analytical man, but he is also incredibly sensitive.
Det er kraftedeme en pæn guitar!
Det er det helt sikkert!
Nice playing (of course) and pretty guitar, but what I hear is Ed McMahon: "Heere's Jens"...
Thanks! I don't know who Ed McMahon is, I am guessing it is radio or tv?
@@JensLarsen Gee, I thought everyone in the world had in-depth knowledge of American catch phrases! Ed was the announcer for Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show, a tremendously popular late night television variety show. He always announced the host with "heeere's Johnny". It has become sort of a meme (at least in the United States; evidently not so much in Europe). Jack Nicholson uses it in the movie "The Shining", for example.
@@underwoodvoice9077 I know the thing in the shining, but most of those shows were never aired outside the US :)
This was on my "To Learn" list, but seeing you play it so well makes me feel unworthy of touching a guitar lol
Thumb down... Only because "sad but true"
Go learn it! It's a great tune, and we all play songs in our own way!
