Suddenly those LEGO Advent Calendars are looking like a real bargain.
I always think they are ngl, they’re great, good minifigs, nice micro builds and in the Star Wars ones often have a minifig from the big expensive sets from the year
Honestly this made me appreciate my Hot Wheels advent calender. £20 and so far everyday has been well worth the price and we're only on the 6th.

I get the Star Wars one every year. I have every one since the beginning. I like the exclusive holiday mini figures and as somebody else mentioned they usually have a mini figure that was exclusive to a far more expensive set. They end up being a pretty good bargain when you can find them on sale about a week or so before Black Friday. I got mine for $26.00

Child me played rough and godzilla lost an arm. No idea where the rest of them went 😅
This feels like they just went to one of those Ultraman Toy Gashapon machines, filled a pill organizer with them, and charged 50 bucks for it.

The unlicensed part is a massive red flag, sure, but someone has to buy them and warn everybody. Good thing it came from the Godzilla toy collector. And I'm always tempted to get those "cake topper" bootleg figures of things. Seems like a MUCH better bargain AND it is actually Godzilla.
Oh my god my girlfriend almost bought me this but I THANKFULLY talked her out of it because I noticed the bootlegs in the picture so glad I talked her out of it after seeing this

@@Curlyheart Even years later, I refuse to add any of those Hasbro Dinosaurs to my JP Collection. They are all so bad in quality they feel like Bootlegs.. and their JP3 molds have been used repeatedly by bootlegs!
The paint jobs on most of those minifigures in the advent calendar makes the mattel JW figures look like SH monsterarts Godzilla figures

I'm so glad my suspicions were right about these. I was considering getting 2 for my dad and me cause I saw the Godzilla one and a Monster Hunter one. I wound up not getting them because I just couldn't shake the feeling that something seemed off, and I'm glad to see my instincts were right.

It feels awful to know they probably successfully tricked loads of people. It seemed obvious that it wasn't legit right from the start, but I'd always see people in comment sections that seem to be buying it - and with it being the Christmas season, it's possible even more people fell for it thinking they were giving someone a great gift.
What genuinely surprises me is that they actually shipped something, though. I didn't think there'd even be an actual product tbh.

I actually got a set of the bootleg Godzilla figures, they gave mecha Godzilla shin joints, no leg articulation, got these when I was obsessed with the franchise, I spent like 120$ on SH figuarts dragon ball figures, I might have a spending problem, I bought a sonic piggy bank that I don’t even use, speaking of money storage my grandpa his United States Marine Corps wallet and it’s the only one I use
Hey at least it was kaiju/toku related all 24 days. When cheapos did Dungeons & Dragons advent calendars the same way, you got dino erasers, pokemon figurines and cutesy animal pins.

Man I am so disappointed that I never got one of the bootleg D&D advent calendars a couple years ago. They were so terrible it would have made an amazing video. But then they released a really sad official one with a bunch of cardboard tat.

This isn't unprecedented, I suppose. In the 70s, a Japanese toyline was released here in America called "Godzilla's Gang." It consisted of Godzilla... and ULTRA MONSTERS! No Rodan, no Mothra, no Angilas... Ultra monsters most Americans probably hadn't seen before. But they were officially licensed figures.
