Fair comments I think, though I suppose we have to remember, not everyone is going to be able to afford the Barbie equals. Plus, perhaps I’m a bit old-fashioned, but sometimes it’s good to encourage children to use their imagination. I think most dolls and Barbie stuff can be just a little too realistic - and leaves no scope for imagination... Very few dolls if any ever had moveable joints in my day; just the usual four points. Everything is done for them today... Sometimes it’s not so much ‘cheap is nasty’ - as ‘cheap is novel/charming’. When I was a child, I was quite charmed by stuff made in 'Hong Kong' which was really cheaply made - but it allowed for far more imagination. I somehow even to this day, find cheaply made Items quite endearing. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
