Yeah, I know, but I wanted to leave the information from the second game in the second game. I wanted this video to be about the information presented in the first. Thanks for watching!
ArkDeck in the bar of broken heroes i dont consider any of it to be plot. he is alive sure but the enconter at the bar is faulty since many characters in there are dead already. but he is alive since he shows up in the courtroom and beard tells jacket that "that"(killing biker) didnt really happen since it was just jacket feeling guilty since not killing biker lead to Hookers death
see all this is good evidence... provided that bikers head wasn't completely T'd off. which it is from jackets perspective. it makes more sense for jacket to be the one that was wounded by biker. this would explain how he was Hospitalized
Here's an interesting theory about why Biker wanted out of 50 blessings:: The first time you're in control of biker is on may 13th, and you see him threatening the guy who introduced him to 50 blessings, demanding that he needs to help him get out of the whole thing. On the day after that, biker gets a phone call threatening him because he didn't complete his last assignment, and that failure in completing the next one will result in consequences. If we go back to Jackets storyline we'll see that one of his jobs actually takes place on may 13th - Clean Hit. The message that's given to him on his phone says "Our receptionist went home due to stomach problems". This could mean that Biker was given the Clean Hit job first, but got cold feet and backed out of it since it involved murdering several political figures.
i didnt get scared by the explosion since i saw the cables, i still died to it anyways lol. What did scare me was when the car ambushes you, i almost had a heart attack
I like how the story was cryptic and surprisingly deep. You really have to solve the puzzle of the story in your head and think about the dialogue. Nice summary.

This story is more like fucking Fight club mixed with apocalypse now and a bit of American psycho and a tiny bit of both 80s horror movies & action movies..... and Tarantino doesn’t do any of those genres LOL......
Yea its kinda confusing, but there was 2 nukes, one that ended the Soviet-America conflict in San Francisco, we have no idea what America did, but only that it surrendered possibly to avoid full scale nuclear war *shrug* And then there's the second nuke... or nukes, that seem to obliterate most of America sadly. ...I really hate HM2's ending, Ill tell you that for free.
Which means! Jacket is sadly hallucinating or fantasizing his dead war buddy is in the faces of the kinds of friends only lonely people have... bartenders, video rental workers, gas station attendance, pizza place cashier... Jacket is a lost, sad soul who is probably hiding from his pain through the -50 Blessing "activities" the picture at the very end of the game is him and Beard, which he lets go, which symbolizes he accepts that Beard is gone now.
Acesahn no he isnt hallucinating hes in a coma. the entire game up until the hospital level is a flashback thats why sometimes he sees zombies and shit. and he didnt actually kill biker. he dreams he did because him not killing biker was what made 50 blessings try to kill him which made hooker die so jacket feels imense guilt and tries to convince himself he did it
Well considering a lot of the game is speculation, dreams, drug illusions, and alternate endings.....the End of HM2, could be just one of many ways to end
God I fucking love this game so much. A super meta-commentary on the state of violence in video games. Everyone hates the hospital level but it's another super-meta commentary, this time on the style-over-substance process of AAA game development now. Think about it: they spend the whole game telling you the story doesn't matter, only your actions (i.e. the gameplay) do, and then the hospital level takes that away and says "here's our game if we didn't spend as much time making it fun to play, like most major games nowadays." It's all so fucking perfect. The whole thing gives me a vibe that I can't get anywhere else besides maybe rewatching Fight Club for the thousandth time. I have the 50 blessings logo tattooed on my ass lmao. This game is incredible. EDIT: now reading these comments I didn't realize how many people completely missed the story. Beard is a hallucination, the Janitors are game-dev stand ins literally telling you that the story doesn't matter, Rasmus, Richard, and Don Juan are jacket's ego, super-ego, and id, Biker technically "won" the fight but didn't kill Jacket, the "Jacket" in Payday 2 isn't canon to HM's story but if you really need an explanation, it's not the same person at all, he's a fan just like the Protags of HM2. There, now you all get it.
@@sodajerkrecords5003 Beard is long since dead, he died in the nuclear attack in San Francisco. Jacket is just dealing with the guilt and seeing him everywhere he goes. He's a PTSD hallucination of the real Beard who was a close friend of Jacket's in the war. That's why Beard always gives him free stuff; Jacket knows Beard to be a selfless, extremely helpful guy, so that's what he hallucinates as he goes crazier and crazier.
I imagine that they flailed at nothing in drug-fueled rage and broke some vases thinking that it was their heads. And then they both left to finish their stories.
I personally like to believe Jacket didn't kill Biker, but rather wounded him, like we saw in Hotline Miami 2. Amazing video I keep coming back to, keep it up!
Alright, I believe that biker's story is correct, and the reason jacket is in the coma in the first place is because jacket was wounded. You do not have to kill the callers, so that is probably canon that he didn't, saying they are spotted in the sequel.
That sounds alright, but remember: Jacket goes into the coma because Richter shoots him. Unless you're saying the injuries he sustained in with his fight against Biker also impacted his coma, in addition to the trauma sustained at the hands of Richter. If that's the case, I'm sorry I misunderstood!
Squatch Gaming Official That might have been when his memory started to fail him, which would then mean that biker's side could very well be true, this is really damn confusing.
It's not mystery of who won the fight between jacket and biker. In hotline 2, you can find biker in a bar but he has his face smashed in. Jacket isn't dead, so this means that jacket won the fight but didn't kill him. It's not that hard.
I don't think either of them won, however due to Jacket being influenced by memory loss and a coma, and biker being influenced by drugs, I believe neither of them remember what happened, however they believe they killed the other person.
They both survived. Look in HM 2. Jacket is put on trial and goes to prison. If you go to Evan's phone at the beginning of one of the levels. Once you beat the level, you go to a bar with all of the characters except Jacket. Evan sits down and has a conversation with an aged Biker.
We see Biker alive, but severely scarred, in HLM2, so I imagine what happened at PhoneHom was that Jacket won the fight, but never landed the finishing blow, and 50 Blessings, as punishment for not tying up the loose end, sends Richter to take him out. Considering Jacket also canonically spares Richter, it seems like he feels some sort of kinship with the other masked vigilantes, so him sparing Biker too isn't out of the question.
What we can add is that the killer waiting for us in our apartment as Jacket is also Richard. Beard died before hotline miami (you discover that in 2) and what you see in the first game are only flashbacks of the last moments with beard. The bold guy, who is beard's kill and Jacket's killer is Richard (remember: the next time we will meet will be the last time, he was right.)
On Clean Hit, You mention that: "He spares An Janitor". Yes, but, He dosent see him, his face is turned outside the window as can you notice. Great video btw!
16:55 there's actually a secret ending to this fight where if you loose as Biker his helmet gets shattered, he gets left with a giant scar on his face and jacket leaves. he does live though and gets to his bike. this could actually be the canonical ending, since biker has a scar on his face, and never has his helmet in hotline miami 2.
This game series is complicated enough and then Dennation started making comics. Ugh, is it important that I read these comics to understand the series more or are they just side stories?
Unidentified Meme no, but they do add fun little bits and pieces. Like the person who originally used the Carl mask. (It was a fan comic at first but Dennaton said it was canon, because they liked it.)
2 days ago I decided to play through Hotline Miami for the second time. But when playing I realized that I somehow skipped the scene with the car driving into the building and the whole hospital and trauma thing. The dream stuff didn't happen aswell and the woman didn't die (she dissappeared tho).
I literally realized five mitutes ago that HLM follows the same road as Portal - the main plot spoiler is that there is a plot at all, and things really kick into gear when the protagonist breaks out of the level-to-level gameplay loop and goes on a revenge quest
Jacket may not speak in PD2 cause the events of the hotline Miami games may have left him emotionally traumatized Edit: he may have some sort of small catatonic activity
The Scene where jacket kills biker wasnt real because in Hotline Miami 2 there is a scene where Evan Wright talks to biker about the strange phone calls
Really thanks man, you made me understand the story way better than those masked buddies, and you didn't miss even the most little detail! But there's one thing that made me reeally happy and curious at the same time: the fight between Jacket and The Biker at the call center. I thought that Jacket was the dead one, but you made me notice that Biker isn't even that smart telling stories... so I just hope none of them died. Otherwise I will stealthy throw rocks at any biker I see from now on =P
You're very welcome! I'm glad it was able to clear it up for you! Yeah, I thought the same thing about the Call Center, but Biker isn't that reliable either. I'm pretty sure they both remember it wrong and walk out of there alive, but who knows what really happened in that room?!? Lol. Be careful! If they catch you, they may run you down with their butch knives!
Great video man! I read some other explanations as well, just to see what theories people have and also what they mostly agree on. About Biker vs Jacket in the phone room, I think that Jacket won the fight, but didn't actually kill Biker, only injured him. The scene where he smashes his head with the golf stick might have been just his imagination, like with the bloodied people he kept seeing everywhere. It would explain why we see Biker in the second game with a scar on his face
Thanks a lot! I worked hard on it! Glad you enjoyed! What happens in that room is maybe the most important thing in the game, and we aren't certain what happens! Lol. But I believe that's what happens too. It's really the only way everything makes sense... Haha.
think about this: Jacket is in a coma dreaming about the events that happened..... maybe his coma dream got some of the real events wrong. also.... in Hotline Miami 2, Biker says that he can't remember most of what happened during his killing spree. Maybe both of them are getting the events wrong, due to brain damage, comas, drugs, etc.....
I guess the massacre in phone home was a 'massacre timeline' while the 2nd one is the 'spare' timeline, but thats not just a theory, its a 4th wall breaking theory
If Jacket killed Biker in PhoneHome, we would've never found out about the secret organization. If Biker killed Jacket in PhoneHome, we would've found out about the secret organization.
I always thought that the man in green was Beard but I wasn't very perceptive throughout the game. I thought this way because the man in green has piercing green eyes, just like Beard, and I thought the man in green was just a shaven, older version of Beard. something that added to my delusion was the fact that nothing seemed to make sense as it seemed Jacket was going insane
I believe that jacket killing biker is true because in payday 2 you can download the hotline miami dlc witch includes jacket as a playable character but not biker and it has been confirmed that they are in the same universe.
what i think happened in the phone home room is that biker was drunk and drugged up he did injure jacket but passed out from the intoxication. Jacket comes to first assumes biker is dead and leaves.
Jacket and Biker didn't die, they saw their fight differently, This is true because biker is at Jacket's court case. Whew I got that off my chest.

Don't worry! You weren't the only one. When I first played it, I was pretty sure there wasn't a story. Lol.
Thanks for watching!
Very well prepared video :)
Thanks a lot!
And Thanks for watching!
Just binged all of your hotline videos, great work and thank you👍🏼
No, thank you for watching! I hope you think it was time well spent!
Squatch Gaming Official of course it was, two of my favorite games of all time!
To be honest, I've never read the comics, and I like to think I have a pretty good understanding of the story.
Unidentified Meme the hotline miami 2 ones are both
it helps clarify some things, and also are side stories
Snackies thanks
Unidentified Meme no, but they do add fun little bits and pieces. Like the person who originally used the Carl mask. (It was a fan comic at first but Dennaton said it was canon, because they liked it.)
2 days ago I decided to play through Hotline Miami for the second time. But when playing I realized that I somehow skipped the scene with the car driving into the building and the whole hospital and trauma thing. The dream stuff didn't happen aswell and the woman didn't die (she dissappeared tho).
nice vid, fam
Wait neither of them could've died at Phone Home because the game progresses for both of them
The Janitor is Post Malone
Started tripping on acid and playing this with my friend and he was explaining piece by piece of the story and the games music was trippy enough
Playing this game on acid geinuley sounds terrifying and awesome
@@aubrey5577GOTTA GET A GRIP!
I literally realized five mitutes ago that HLM follows the same road as Portal - the main plot spoiler is that there is a plot at all, and things really kick into gear when the protagonist breaks out of the level-to-level gameplay loop and goes on a revenge quest
opens door
*DEAD*
Jacket may not speak in PD2 cause the events of the hotline Miami games may have left him emotionally traumatized
Edit: he may have some sort of small catatonic activity
Please tell me I am not the only one who missed so much when playing this game.
You are not! I missed all of this when I played the game too. Lol.
Thanks for watching!
Wow, I have never noticed these papers on the apartment
If Beard quits his job, the economy will collapse.
I’m oddly unnerved by this game story
The Scene where jacket kills biker wasnt real because in Hotline Miami 2 there is a scene where Evan Wright talks to biker about the strange phone calls
your videos seem well put together and you definetly will get more exposure as time passes if you keep up the quality :D
Thanks a lot! I put a lot of time and effort in these to make them to the best of my ability. I'm glad it shows!
Nicely done explanation, many thanks.
PS: now you got one more subscriber =P
*NOBODY TOUCH JACKET.*
I totally read into this wrong. I thought the janitors were the devs and you as the player were being coerced to hurt people.
Bro thats literally what I thought too
Great video man!
"Biker rides out of Miami" and then returns to MIami in a bar of broken heroes drunk as fuck
I guess the massacre in phone home was a 'massacre timeline' while the 2nd one is the 'spare' timeline, but thats not just a theory, its a 4th wall breaking theory
If Jacket killed Biker in PhoneHome, we would've never found out about the secret organization.
If Biker killed Jacket in PhoneHome, we would've found out about the secret organization.
you literally just described the entirety of hotline miami
great video dude!! love you! thnaks
MY FRIEND ARE YOU ON ANOTHER PLANET?
Couldn't finish the game; glad this video exists.
Today is the anniversary of the first day of the killing spree.
Exactly what I needed, thanks
Hotline Miami is one of the greatest stories ever told in a video game. it could be adapted into a film easily
what i think happened in the phone home room is that biker was drunk and drugged up he did injure jacket but passed out from the intoxication. Jacket comes to first assumes biker is dead and leaves.
Sounds good to me! Lol.
