Tool Bag: amzn.to/3YkXTcR 👍🏻
Thank you
I have these. They are GREAT!! The zippers are strong, but the zipper pulls are absolute garbage. They get stuck sideways. Break them off and replace with paracord; good to go!!
@@grimgranitethe bag is GREAT, I’m in Boy Scout and I have been newly appointed as the patrol leader and this is a great way to store your first aid kit stuff, love the content, always recommend it to my troop , keep making quality content 😊
LEATHERMAN ALL THE WAY BABY
I was with you up until the Axe, haha. Call me old fashioned but I prefer wood handles. Other inexpensive basic gear to get started:
1. cheap tarp or poncho
2. a couple of 5mil drum liner trash bags
3. Single walled stainless steel bottle and cup.
4. compass and map of the area you plan to be
5. notepad and pencil
6. Travel sewing kit
7. Bic lighter
8. Headlamp
9. Cotton bandana
I prefer wood handles as well. The axe is very good though.
I would also highly recommend a decent multitool not just for Bushcraft but everyday use too. Gerber or SOG if you can afford it but I'm sure there's decent cheaper options. A good pair of multitool pliers can be invaluable in many situations. Also a marlin spike is great for undoing knots. No need to over spend, these things just tend to be at every antique mall I've ever seen. Or they're easy to make if you're handy. Also after thinking about it, I've never seen bush crafters recommending gloves but I personally would. Nothing too fancy just cheap work gloves preferably leather but it doesn't have to be. Gotta protect those digits.
Mora is the best value knife you can buy probobly
I gotta get me that tool back
I've torn up enough tarps and backpacks carrying my tools around
Many videos on the bank line
Fiskars and Gerber are my love language. They are kinda married in the production realm but I think that is fine!
I like the rolling bag thing I'm working on some different design backpacks and tents in hopes of simplicity. Maybe not Cool video I can relate on the thirty years time signature thing lol sure
I’ve never heard Morakniv pronounced like that. That tool roll bag looks pretty handy!
Yep, it’s a great bag!
It wasn't perfect, but surprisingly good! (I'm Norwegian, which is just a better Swedish)
@@ShadarLogathva fan sa du?
It’s moraknive(without the e) lol
@@ShadarLogathVafalls, gubbe?!
Silky saws are so good check out the f180
Great advice! The only other thing I'd recommend is either a small metal pot or a water filter. My lifestraw goes everywhere my knife goes.
Workchamp for the win!!
I’m starting to get into buschcraft so thanks for a list to start
Awesome! I’m glad to hear it!
What about hatchets for beginners?
Love your videos but I've noticed you prefer the Swiss army pocket knife over a Leatherman or Gerber, perhaps you can share your thoughts on comparing the 3 in a future video I'd be really interested in seeing that and I'm sure anyone that has 1 of those 3 would like to see that too. Btw I have a Leatherman supertool 300 for my edc its hefty for a multi-tool but its always come in clutch.
I think a comparison video would be fun, yeah! I like them all, and none of them are perfect by any means. I have several models from each company and I find them all to be useful in varying degrees. I think I will have to do a shoot out video with them. 🤓👍🏻
If I'm on a multi day hike, I prefer a big camp knife like a thick 7 inch butcher knife. If I'm staying put in a set camp, heavy 3 lbs tomahawk for sure.
Where do you find the knife
Cool Tools can you add fishing to it too?
I have that same Fiskars saw. Also have a Bahco Laplander. I use the Fiskars more
The mora knife is grate
The Moŕa a k IVF 😅😂😂 sorry I'm swedidh and livs close to mora / a city. 😅
I've seen hardcore hammers
They make hatchets too one day I hope to pick one up
Haven’t tried them, but they look cool!
Drop the fiskers saw and grab a silky saw instead. 👍🏻
I’ve used both and both cut just fine. 👍🏻
@@grimgranite longevity wise I prefer silky but to each their own.
Like they say, the best tool is the one you have on you and feel comfortable using. 👍🏻
All the Swedish people in the video
You mentioned a saw, whats your opinion on the machetes with the saw spine?
Having tried a whole bunch of different kinds, I would wholeheartedly say that I do not think they are very effective. 😅
@@grimgranite I've found a bow saw works the fastest as long as the branch isn't thicker than the bow but I'm not carrying a bow saw on a hike🤷♂️
Honestly they all suck lol
thx
This is not a cheap knife it's a budget knife
The term cheap can mean “not good” to some people, I suppose “budget” would be more accurate.
While I like swiss army knives. I'd rec a tool with locking blades and tools. Really easy to pinch or cut your fingers if you aren't experienced with them.
I have everything you have down to the brand except the Swiss knife, looks like we got similar tastes
I’ve been thinking about getting a Morakniv
They are great! My favorites are the Companion, Eldris, and the Garberg.
Awesome how much does the axe cost
I think around $80, but you can check the link in the description to get the current price.
I make all my knifes
you did not just say "Morakaneev"
I sure did! That’s how it’s pronounced. 👍🏻
Two for $3...
I have a question even if I didn’t sign up for the giveaway how do I know when you gave it away to someone?
The giveaway ended on June 28th and the winner has received the crate. 👍🏻
Just buy a leatherman wave
Why do i need a saw while camping?
In the summer, sometimes I don’t take one. I find that in the spring fall and winter, it’s helpful to have one for cutting firewood or for making camp tools as I need them.
Sorry for the really late response, but where do you do these videos? Do you own a part of a forest? Or a plot@@grimgranite
You Can do it in publik land
Bro knows how to assemble good functional gear
I can never tell when he's being serious anymore
If I’m looking at the camera, I’m being serious.
He makes money if you order this stuff through the links, he’s being serious.
Mora kenieve😂
Mora knife
Nah 511 isn't that good
The newer versions are much better like the 911.
The 511 is great for beginners and is very budget friendly. Once a person reaches a decent level of proficiency, better knives can be found, certainly. For a beginner, sometimes every dollar matters… that’s why I chose the 511 for this video.
Something about how he says Morakniv rubs me the wrong way, either way this is a great guide and I love Moras. Actually have one right next to me as I speak.
Tell that to the people who made the knife! 😅 That’s how they say it. 🤷🏻♂️
@@grimgranite I thought it was "mora-nivv" because it's swedish, I didn't know that. Thanks.
@@grimgranite okay I just watched one of Moraknivs videos, you're totally right.
@@kippert8912 Weird right? I just recently learned this as well after some folks from over there corrected me. 😂
My guy had a good teacher. A guy that owns 400 odd Mora knives and admins half the Mora groups on Facebook. Different name, same photo. 😉
