- Kevin Hart is brushing off the Oscar uproar by returning to the stage for sold-out shows in Australia. The comedian was set to host the upcoming Academy Awards ceremony until some of his old tweets, which some consider to be homophobic, resurfaced. Back home, his ex-wife defended him in an exclusive interview with Inside Edition. Torrei Hart said Kevin is not homophobic and the tweets were meant as a joke. The two were childhood sweethearts and married before he was famous. #InsideEdition

As someone who is gay and not feminine I do think that Kevin should’ve hosted the Oscars. What he said was not only 10 years ago before gay marriage was legal but also in the grand scheme of things it really isn’t that big of a deal. He has the right to his opinions and it really doesn’t seem like he presently have issues he feels the need to share about the LGBT community. People just want to fish for anything to bring someone else down.
And we don’t “hate” or not accept them either. U shouldn’t be forced to like something or be forced to believe something is normal when it’s not. Doesn’t mean they aren’t accepted tho

The fact that a comedian is being forced to apologize for jokes is insane. He’s addressed the tweets from the past and now he’s being bombarded with them again. If gay jokes from a less sensitive time gets you banned from gigs then a lot of comedians will be barred.
