Hi, connecting ledger with your bank is like doing a KYC, isnt it? Defeats te purpose of ledger or at least one, which is anonymity.
I’ve been trying to figure this out and keep wondering why it’s such a struggle to understand it all. Having watched this I understand now - this is a super complex and convoluted way of funding, trading crypto! Also some of those fees are crazy - by the time you trade you negate most of your gains? I get the security feature but Ledger needs to make this all a lot easier for people to do basic crypto functions.
It’s just a option, if you want lower fees you can buy directly on any exchange like Binance or Coinbase and then transfer the crypto to your ledger.
This is a great way to avoid some of those fees associated with transferring from exchanges to your ledger, right ?

Hello Rex, I am using the Ledger Live on my laptop and iphone. I moved some coins like XRP, SOL, ADA to my cold wallet and I see them on my Ledger Live on the laptop. I don't see them on my iphone version. I did a clear cache on the mobile but still the same. Any help would be great. Love your channel!

Lmaooo no it’s not stored on ledger it’s stored on the blockchain now if they have your passphrase yeah you would be in doggy doo doo land but keep that off the computer store the passphrase in a secure area share it with NO ONE and you will be fine.
Only thing about the leaks is u get snap email get it all the time says to give them ur seed phrase to “update” it just ignore all emails
That doesn't effect the security of the wallet. The personal information of the users is a different story. Unlikely to happen again but private keys are on the device so noone can access crypto by breaching ledgers database.
I just came across your channel. Thanks for the great videos on the Nano; they're helpful considering the downside of the Ledger products, which is their customer support.
So far I haven't been able to complete exchanges (with Wyre in the US); 100% of attempted swaps are timing out with "exchange rate expired" error, and of course there is no response from Ledger Support. Have any others been encountering this error, and if so could you do a video on how to resolve it?

Each buy (money spent buying crypto) is listed separately. Is there an easy way to tally up the $ amount spent instead of adding them up manually for purposes of figuring out if there is a profit or a loss for any individual coin? Ledger Live is not really a great portfolio manager. You can see your transaction history but you cannot aggregate it. You should try a dedicated portfolio manager. coinbureau.com/analysis/best-crypto-portfolio-trackers/

how do you refresh the ledger app, and i don't see a manage tab anymore... theres just a my ledger tab
I purchased a Ledger Nano X and set it up with Ledger live & created accounts such as My Bitcoin & My Ethereum. However, due to computer issues I had to uninstall & reinstall Ledger Live. When I open Ledger Live in my computer it says "Get Started", but when I come to the unlock screen the Ledger Nano says Bitcoin is Ready, but the Ledger Live will not unlock. So I am stuck here. Any advise as to what I should do?

It just doesn't seem advisable to trade with a wallet. So expensive. Unless you're making a huge purchase and expecting large returns to overcome the fees and still make a profit. This is what really sucks about not being on an exchange. It's so convent and you might pay a small fee to buy one crypto, but you can swap between coins, or DCA and pay no fees.

Your purchase gets locked in immediately. You just can’t withdraw your funds until after five days.

Yes you can transfer from Coinbase to Coinbase Pro with no fees at all. After that you can take advantage of the lower fees on Coinbase Pro.

Crypto Dad! How do I show my investments from my ledger to show banks, for a loan!? I’m applying to refinance my home and the loan officer wants to see all my investments. How do I get that from ledger? Or Coinbase Wallet?
Kind of hard to do that with legal force. Showing the banker your ledger live balance on your phone won't cut it. You should file crypto taxes and show the bank your returns.

Thanks Rex, that was very handy. I noticed you use a Ledger Nano X. Would you recommend it? I hear people complaining about the smaller Nano S because it can only store 2 or 3 apps. Is that the case in your experience?
Yes, I use the Ledger Nano X. Bigger screen, holds more apps.

So, what kind of statement is available for when tax time rolls around?
I would wait on this one it just seems like a pain the reason I wanted to go this route was because I figured it would be an instant transfer to the wallet but just like any exchange it's a 5 business day wait period.... I can send eth or any other alt just from an exchange with minimal fees if any especially from gemini. now if you want to avoid the transfer process I could see this being cool but it just seems more trouble than it's worth.

Well whenever ledger ships, it is shipped through DHL and it is specified signature on delivery. That’s just a precaution to make sure that it doesn’t get lost. If you’re not home when the delivery arrives it will go back to your local post office. And in order to pick it up from your post office, yes a signature with ID is required. That way they know it’s you and not someone else. They’re actually using the ID to verify the delivery address. So the post office really doesn’t care who you are they just wanna make sure you live at the intended address. That is standard for international shipping with DHL.
In fact I believe that’s the way it works with any type of service that requires a signature upon delivery. Even USPS does that. FedEx does the same thing if you’re not home when they tried to deliver something that’s signature required. I have to go to my local FedEx and show my ID in order to get the item. I know it feels like some sort of grand conspiracy to verify your ID as a Crypto holder, but it’s not.

I tried ledger live swap and it's expensive compared to selling a crypto on an exchange and send it to a Ledger. Yeah, the swap feature is convenient but pricy. I won't use it again!

Ledger and Trezor are cold wallets. You can have either one or both, it’s up to your preference.

Not if you live in New York! New York blocks Wyre and Coinify
Yes I have had similar problems using the third party software within ledger live. You might want to stick with centralized exchanges like Coinbase or Gemini for trading. You can transfer back to your Ledger wallet after you make your trades.
Why is swap so secretive about how much its going to COST YOU? Its too sneaky and I have never completed a swap due to huge fear of what the final cost will be. Its criminal thievery! Ive never seen the screen you showed where transaction fees are shown and they have changed this since your video.

Yes he put in his bank user name and password...thats how PLAID works. I would never do that. They have 100% access to your bank account...NOPE
I still have no idea why anyone would want to use ETH network or coins. You swapped $96 of coins and were charged an $18 fee!!! The fees are scandalous.
