That red actually looks good in real life. The pictures don't do it justice. My only issue is that US dealers charge a lot for Noricas, even for the crappy ones. I've bee eyeing the Norica Hawk (the green one) but I can't bring myself to spend the money.
@@jackpotparty58 I really liked the Norica Dream Hunter I had until it broke. I did think it was on the pricy side but like you said, they aren’t available from many vendors. The red does look really nice. The more I’m around it, the more I like it. The shooting action of the gun is really impressing me. 😀
Nice looking air rifle and review. Where is the link to see the price and to purchase. I have a AEA HP MAX in .30 cal and looking for a .22 break barrel.
I don’t ever put links in like that as I’m not a sponsored channel and UA-cam seems to frown upon directing people to gun manufacturers/vendors. I’d just Google this gun and vendors selling it will pop up. This is the first gun I’ve ever tested that was sent to me from a manufacturer. They likely have a list of dealers available on their Norica website.
Good review mate ..I have the same gun in .22 wood stock and love It...Give the gun a chance and use some decent pellets , ie JSB , JTS , AEA ect ect .
Thanks! I’ve been impressed so far. 👍 I watched a number of reviews on the gun and guys were saying it takes around 300 pellets to break in. Meisterkugelns worked well in one of the models of this gun that Airgun Detectives tested. I’ve also seen that JSB and JTS and H&N pellets work well too.
@@johnnybbgunner2136 I was initially skeptical of it just from the way it looked. It’s a large feeling grip but I quickly got used to it and didn’t even notice it while shooting.
Oh my gosh! The difference was night and day better over the POS Umarex Synergis Elite. I mean I know they aren’t comparable due to price, the recoilless action, but dang, this Norica was so much more refined and smooth to shoot. Really cool to experience that. 😄
@@johnnybbgunner2136 I’ve got high confidence I will! 👍😀 I’m looking forward to putting it through more tests and then comparing it to some of my other guns. I don’t mean to belabor this but I can’t get over how smooth it is to shoot. It’s really amazing. 😀
Its awesome they sent you this air rifle for review. How long do you have this Norica air rifle for review? The scuff is sad to see. Do you think this could be a Demo air rifle sent out for just it's reviewers? Norica does have a wood version which is 140 more. I hope all goes well and you enjoy this Norica 400 air rifle. Looking forward to your future reviews.
@@gmanneod8085 It’s mine to keep. Pretty crazy right?! 😀👍 It appears brand new judging by how it burned stuff off on those first 5 shots and the grease that was on the breech. The scuff appears to have happened during shipping from the box rubbing on it. They should add another piece of foam to the middle of the box to prevent that. It came doubled boxed and didn’t have any noticeable damage on the outside. I’m looking forward to shooting it some more and doing more videos about it.
do they let you keep the gun, looks cool l wonder how many parts are involved inside would be interesting to look at a part's diaphragm. l would think the warranty would be more instead of just 1 year on this gun gamo guns are up to 5 years on some of there's.
@scotthanson4200 Yes, there are no strings attached with this gun. They didn’t have any stipulations other than what I mentioned in the video. I was blown away by that. I’d read about some unreasonable demands certain accessory companies make for UA-camrs who feature their products and I thought that’d be awful. This worked out really well as it allowed me to feature a gun that I’d likely have never bought as its price point is where I’d be nervous to take a chance on it. I’ll never take the channel in a direction of constantly testing guns from companies or vendors as that’d quickly turn into a grind. Basically it’d be job and ruin this as a hobby. That’d not be any fun. I’ve not looked to see if there are parts diagrams available? My assumption is that at some point a guy would need to replace the bushings the action slides on. I don’t know what interval that occurs at? I agree, it’d be better if they offered a longer warranty.
@@airgunsofalaska what an early christmas present that is really cool l hope it turns out a good one l like the concept of the gun with no recoil. if it fairs with the daisy 880 you got a winner. it's really cool by the company to let you do this and give you an expensive pellet gun.
After this video I kept shooting it until it got too dark and I thought it was really quiet. In the video, those were the first 5 shots on the gun right out of the box. As it burned off it got really quiet. Honestly, I think a Daisy 880 has a sharper, louder report at 10 pumps than this Norica makes. I don’t find it to be loud at all. I think because the action floats inside that aluminum tube it make the gun even more quiet. It shoots and feels very, very similar to a pneumatic or PCP. It’s pretty mind blowing!
@ I counted up my targets and I’ve got over 200 rounds through it now and it’s very quiet. The pellets hitting the steel back stop are louder IMO. So far I’m really liking the gun but I can’t speak to its long term reliability or durability as I’ve not put enough use on it.
It looks a bit odd but not bad with the synthetic stock. I think I watched a review of somebody with the wood version and it was the ugliest piece of wood I have ever seen on a gun. Looked like a home depot 2x8 out of their reject bin. Really put me off the brand, thought it was a budget gamo type of company because of that. Shame about the damage to the finish you got. I was considering a Cometa Fusion/400 partially due to the lifetime warranty but the Norica is on the list now as well. Looking forward to future reviews.
It’s definitely got it’s own “look”. 😆 My first impression of the gun upon pulling it out of the box was space gun. Then my wife said I should put it on video taking the gun out so that’s what I did. I was bummed to see that rub mark on the receiver. They need to add another piece of foam to support the middle of the gun during shipping. I don’t like the style of the wood stock version so I don’t mind this synthetic stock model. If I’d have purchased it I’d have gone with the synthetic stock. I’m really hopeful this Norica will be trouble free over time. I think it will be. My experience with the Norica Dream Hunter didn’t go well and there were a ton of things I liked about that underlever. I’ve read/watched many good things about the Cometa guns, I just don’t need another break barrel springer. If they made an under lever model I’d likely buy one.
Form over function prevails I guess. I would definitely like to see the groups and true ballistic stats and customer service reputation. I'm pretty leary on air pistons and longevity. If the company will send the consumer parts like air pistons, seals etc then I would be interested.
Form over function is a good descriptor. It’s industrial in its looks and construction, definitely doesn’t follow the lines of a classic break barrel gun. I can’t speak to long term longevity of the gas piston nor anything else as I just got it but I will be doing a lot of shooting with it and creating future videos with the info you mentioned. I don’t know what their customer service or parts availability is like? The only companies I’ve ever ordered parts from are Daisy and Crosman. I was displeased to find that Daisy no longer offered many parts for the older, metal receiver 880. They sent me a list of private vendors to order those parts from and one of the companies, JL Missouri, charges a lot of money for some of the parts. The last time I called Crosman for parts they had nothing I needed in stock and I got the impression they were selling out of what they had at the New York plant prior to shutting it down. Before the buyout I thought Crosman was awesome. They were very quick to send me warranty parts for my Benjamin 397. It seems like most often I’ll order airgun parts off Amazon or eBay for my airguns. I guess what I’m trying to say is that parts support for airguns doesn’t seem to be very robust in many cases. From what I’ve read and watched, it sounds like Gamo is horrible for parts support and doesn’t even sell spare parts.
Give that thing a workout and let us know then. It's tempting just because it's unusual looking. But if you get it shooting good like AGD that would go along way in my decision. I should have a Beeman R9 by Christmas to go with the HW 30. But I don't want to leave those out in the garage. Thanks
I’m planning to do exactly that! I’m going to run a bunch of cheap pellets through it as Nibs mentioned in his review of this gun it takes 300 rounds to break in. Then I’ll do some videos on accuracy, chrony, the typical things. I’m looking forward to seeing how it does! I really like the looks of an HW30 and would eventually like to add one to my collection.
@ No kidding? I didn’t know that nor did I know that Beeman was still, selling decent guns. I thought when they were bought out by the Chinese company they just sold Chinese made guns. Trying to find a place that sells Weihrauch guns is kind of a pain in the ass. AOA has been out of stock on the HW30 for close to 6 months.
@@airgunsofalaska No kidding Weihrauch makes the R9 for Beeman ( same gun ) , but if you buy the HW30 the warranty just isn't as good ( I think a year ) 🤔. Not positive but think the Beeman a lifetime warranty ? Don't quote me . Seems I read it somewhere ? 🤨 . Sorry but that Norica is butt ugly ☹ , its a good thing it shoots good . I would rather have an R9 than that ( about the same price ) . Everyone has their right to their opinions . Keep up the great videos ill be watching . 👍.

I just bought a Gamo Arrow (PCP) Classic directly from Gamo's website. I have the standard Gamo .22 Arrow which Is nice but the Arrow Classic has a beautiful wood stock and a bigger air tank which gives it more velocity and energy. The Arrow Classic was out of stock so I put my email on the wait list and was notified a few weeks ago that they were available and pulled the trigger! It's made In Spain and the fit & finish is Impeccable It's also extremely accurate. I'm not getting groups It shoots one hole at 25 yards. I had a Gamo discount coupon code so to my house It was $249, I'm very Impressed!
I got a smoking deal on my remanufactured Gamo Swarm Hornet off the Gamo website. A few months later I ordered my infamous Gamo CFX off their website as it was on sale. I then learned about their awful return policy and was stuck with the gun as return shipping is expensive from Alaska. I do like that Gamo still makes a classic wood and steel break barrel but it’s at the high end of their line up.

@@airgunsofalaska Well that is cool that they reached out to you and sent it to you I tthink that is pretty awsome. As far as the gun I do not like the design not a fan of the handle, stock ot the fact that the barrel has that shock asorb movement in it as well. The more moving parts the more things to go wrong in my opinion. It an interesting gun and concept for sure and the concept seems to work as well but I will be curious to the longevity of that concept. At least with one in your hands I know you will test the hell out of it instead of these other morr popular channels that make one video about an air rifle then you never see it again. So I will be watching for all the the videos you put out on this air rifle for sure. Becuase if it does hold up that will be a good thing for the whole air rifle community with that recoil design they have come up with. But I am alwasy hoping that some one will make a lower priced air rifle with high end specs and performance I thing we will get there one day lol.
@@BravoBassinYou make excellent points and I suspect the majority of my viewers are probably wondering the same thing, me included. I don’t know how it’ll hold up long term as I’ve never owned one and you’re right. There seems to be a complete lack of follow up and long term testing done on guns by the big channels. apart of me can see why now. They are receiving guns and products all the time to test so, unless it is your full, time job, it’d be hard to keep up with things. That wouldn’t be any fun in my mind but evidently some guys like it. I’m hopeful it’ll continue to shoot as good as it’s been doing today as I break it in. Getting rid of recoil in a light weight, slim airgun is really nice to hold, shoulder and shoot.

@@herberar Interesting, I’d not thought about that while shooting it. The gun is easy to cock and I’m not having to spend as much time on target as compared to some of my traditional springers.

@airgunsofalaska The Simplicity of the Shape is What I Like about this Rifle ( In fact I have been wanting to Build/ Convert An Old Webley Tracker or something like that into something with a very Similar shape to this!) Strip it down to its Basics by removing the 'Furniture ' so only the 'Tube' and Barrel is left and add a Basic Pistol Grip to it and then put a Folding Metal Stock onto it that Folds underneath it ( Similar to an MP 40 or AK ) Add an Adjustable Sling So What you get is a Rifle that's Full Power That will Comfortably fit under my Coat for when I go out into the Woods etc ..Be a Great 'Poachers ' Tool !👍😉

It's available in 177 and. 22 and comes in Various colours from what I have seen though I have yet to come across anyone with one and my local Gunsmith reckons it's a bit of a 'Gimmick ' but the Idea in itself is a good one So i Wait on and see what develops!

I think you may have found a new favorite...yeah
@@user-xj3bv1wg8dcyclone I’ve got well over 100 rounds through it now, I’m still amazed at how easy it is to shoot. 😄👍
Thanks for the Video Review AoA👉🎯.
Congrats from getting Norica to get you to check out their product 😉👍.
Cheers 🙏🇨🇦
How does that fin grip feel?
@@johnnybbgunner2136 I was initially skeptical of it just from the way it looked. It’s a large feeling grip but I quickly got used to it and didn’t even notice it while shooting.
Wow thats awesome! That gun looks like a dream man! probably feels like heaven compared to that crappy under lever.
Oh my gosh! The difference was night and day better over the POS Umarex Synergis Elite. I mean I know they aren’t comparable due to price, the recoilless action, but dang, this Norica was so much more refined and smooth to shoot. Really cool to experience that. 😄
@@airgunsofalaska lol I bet! when you shoot a crappy gun then switch to a nicer one its like a dream!
I hope you have better luck with this rifle.🤠🇺🇸
I own a norika spider 25 cal and it's the best air rifle I've owned so far ❤❤❤.
@@portroyal6886 very nice!
do they let you keep the gun, looks cool l wonder how many parts are involved inside would be interesting to look at a part's diaphragm. l would think the warranty would be more instead of just 1 year on this gun gamo guns are up to 5 years on some of there's.
Diaphragm..? I assume that to be diagram? 😊
@@ErickvdK lol ya l really miss spelled that one.
@scotthanson4200
Yes, there are no strings attached with this gun.
How loud is the ZRS compared to other air rifles? Is it too noisy for yard use?
After this video I kept shooting it until it got too dark and I thought it was really quiet. In the video, those were the first 5 shots on the gun right out of the box. As it burned off it got really quiet. Honestly, I think a Daisy 880 has a sharper, louder report at 10 pumps than this Norica makes. I don’t find it to be loud at all. I think because the action floats inside that aluminum tube it make the gun even more quiet. It shoots and feels very, very similar to a pneumatic or PCP. It’s pretty mind blowing!
@@airgunsofalaska thank for providing your observations, I asked because I’m looking to get the .25 with the wood stock.
First time I've seen your channel, nice to have a local you tuber. Curious if your in the interior. Thanks JB from Fairbanks.
@@johnbouchard9447 Right on, thanks for checking out my channel! I’m down in Valdez.
Nice break barrel, how about with scope and firing at 50yrds. 🙂👊
Absolutely! Those kinds of tests will be coming. 👍😄 I think it’s going to do really well but we’ll find out.
Puedes comparar ,su recoil con la diana 54...y conseguiste ,presicion con ella ,esperamos otro video con este tema
Absolutely! I plan to compare it to my Air King in a future video. 😄👍
It's growing on me 😊
The looks are “different” but holy cow is it smooth! Once I get it broken in I want to compare it to my Air King. 😄
@airgunsofalaska oh man please do that. On paper should be interesting 🤔
@@airgunsofalaska The R9 Beeman comes with a better warranty although it is the same rifle .

Just found you not too long ago, might stick around for more 👍
@@bobkamachi2346 Right on, thanks for checking out my channel! 😄👍
@@airgunsofalaska Yep living up In Alaska can make It a hassle to get and ship things to the lower 48, that's for sure. On a positive note your video's are getting noticed and It's great that Norica reached out to you!
Interesting air rifle I have watched a few review on it. It just does not appeal to me the way it is designed but still a cool review and congrats on them sending it to you to review so that is a cool thing.
@@BravoBassin Thanks! It came totally out of the blue, really cool though. What don’t you like about the design?
Anyway that is my 2 cents and ya I am a spoiled weihrauch/beeman/airarms high end springer guy as well lol!
Not a fan of its looks but beauty is as beauty does sometimes! I really enjoy your reviews, thank you!
Thanks! Yes, I’m not overly taken with its looks either but it’s growing on me. It’s shoots so nice that it make this review really enjoyable to do. 😄👍
That's a fast shooting gun !!!!
@@herberar Interesting, I’d not thought about that while shooting it. The gun is easy to cock and I’m not having to spend as much time on target as compared to some of my traditional springers.
Interesting Rifle Shame about the Colour though Looking forward to seeing how it performs!
It’s funny, I’ve learned over the years that I’m really fickle when it comes to colors. I can absolutely hate a color one day and a week later I’ll come around to liking it. I was initially not really digging on the red but now I kinda love it. 😆 It’s just so different from all my other airguns. Even the looks of this gun are growing on me. I didn’t think that would happen!
@ That sounds like a neat project. 😄 You’d probably like the looks of my BAM B3, it’s kind of similar to what you are describing as it has a folding metal skeleton stock.
@airgunsofalaska Funnily enough there is a 'Folding ' Air Rifle Being Sold by a Company in the UK called Vector Air It folds up into a Triangular shape and Looks quite interesting although I don't know if it's any good for anything other than Knocking holes in tin Cans! It's available in 177 and. 22 and comes in Various colours from what I have seen though I have yet to come across anyone with one and my local Gunsmith reckons it's a bit of a 'Gimmick ' but the Idea in itself is a good one So i Wait on and see what develops!
Id say thats a really good group for iron sights and it has not been broking in and the barrel has not been clean
I was really excited to see how those three pellets were touching. Those were the very first shots I took with the gun as I wanted to get my initial impressions and reactions on video.
