At first I laughed at Gordon being distracted by breaking crates. Then I remembered the HEV suit saying “amunition depleted” and realized that he was looking for more ammo.

Yeah, also the scene where Gordon absorbs Chell’s portal actually makes sense in the context of the universe. Black Mesa is believed to have copied Aperture’s equipment so them being able to combine like that makes a lot of sense.
Nah it isnt. Chell firts got her Portal gun in Portal 1 (2010) and never left Aperture Science after the first game. Due to Portal 2 playing a few thousand years in the Future it wouldnt be possible.

You say that but if you read the Portal:Ratman comics you can see on one of the lab desks there is a gravity gun. This either means that they invented it as I said or they were using it as a reference for the portal device. Either way my theory of why the portal gun and the gravity gun interact with each other so easily makes sense.

1-Portals can only be shot on moonrock surfaces.
2-City17 bullets can't cross a portal, since it's not Aprerture permitted materials.
3-You can't catch a portal, they are a ball of light that transforms into a portal once they hit (again) moonrock surfaces. If you could, the gravity gun would have catched any or all light in the universe.
4-The gravity gun can't be altered unless we are talking about Citadel power rays.
5-Since Gordon looked at the operational end of the Portal Gun, he would have died.
6-Why the hell is a Cake Factory in an abandoned place? AND WHY ARE THE CAKES IN SUCH GOOD STATE!?

Regarding the other points, 3 and 4 don't make sense, since we don't know what other forces could possibly supercharge the gun, and portals are not just "balls of light," since they don't move at lightspeed (in Portal 1, at least); GLaDOS's warnings were just her screwing with Chell, since she can also look at the operational end and live, and GLaDOS also tells her not to submerge the gun in water, which Chell does in Portal 2 with no repercussions; and they're probably Hostess cakes, and therefore laden with enough preservatives to enbalm a Shetland.
