    Increase the stopping power of your 2005-2014 S197 Mustang by upgrading the brakes to 6-piston Performance Pack calipers with this SVE front brake upgrade kit! Big brakes serve both form and function. Not only do they look good behind the wheel, but they also help reduce the stopping distance and have better heat dissipation because of the larger surface area of the brake rotor. This SVE front brake upgrade kit includes all new components and the only thing you need to provide is tools and brake fluid.

    I pieced the kit together for about the same price but used remanufactured calipers. Wish this kit would have come out a few weeks ago. Good value.

    I am doing this to my 2016. The only thing I would recommend is don’t fully tighten the hose to the frame until the hard line is threaded into the hose. The loose hose will make it easier to thread in the hard line and less chance of cross threading

    Any concerns with the master cylinder and booster not being designed/capable enough for calipers this large/ # of pistons/ piston surface area/ front and rear brake balance on the cars that came with the factory 2 piston calipers?

    • @latemodelrestoration
      @latemodelrestoration  5 місяців тому

      No, the master cylinder and booster will work as needed with this new brake set up.

    Great Job and fairly straight forward. Are the rotors available cross drilled?

    Is there a rear brake caliper that would fit with the upgraded rear brake rotors?

      Are you referring to an aftermarket rear brake caliper? To my knowledge, no. If you find an aftermarket caliper, those typically require a specific rotor and will be sold as kit. -Landan

    I installed the ford performance brake lines. Any issues if I keep them vs replacing?

      I'm not sure that I fully understand what you're asking. Are you inquiring about keeping the brake hoses that you just installed with this brake kit? We include new hoses that are specific to this swap. I can't guarantee that the hoses that are on the car will work with this kit. Hope this helps. -Landan

    Not really much of a performance benefit for 99.44% of cars. Mostly just more unsprung weight. Better off just upgrading the rotors and pads in the stock size.

      it is, they improve the braking distance on a 3v mustang by arount 10 feet from 70mph to 0

      oh and only 3 pounds more for much better cooling with barely any brake fade that is prevelant on the stock breaks

    • @carlhansen9512
      @carlhansen9512 10 місяців тому

      @@antimedic4441 braking improvement is likely a result of better compound, and new fluid. Nothing to do with the size of the brakes. and 3 pounds? Don't know where you got that number, but it's way off. Brake fade? Not unless you're doing multiple laps on the track.

    • @antimedic4441
      @antimedic4441 10 місяців тому +1

      @@carlhansen9512 no it is improved because of better leverage, as the pistons have more grip on the rotor and are farther from the center. And 3v mustang brakes are very weak from the factory and not able to lock up the wheels in some situations

    • @carlhansen9512
      @carlhansen9512 10 місяців тому +1

      @@antimedic4441 nope, totally wrong. Go watch some videos. Bigger brakes don't brake any better, they just dissipate heat better, which makes them better for extreme/track use.
