Man i remember when i was a kid and i got a zoom multi effect gifted for Christmas. Kids nowadays can't imagine the stress of getting only shitty tones from cheap gear. Now everything is good be it guitars or digital stuff
Kyle, I appreciate you taking the time to review stuff like this. I know it’s not nearly as fun as the high end amps, but it’s still really cool to indulge in as a viewer.
Got the valeton GP100, very similar to this but it's all metal. Got nothing but positive things to say honestly. Through my power amp and cab it's a beast. The soldano model is my go to.
Thank you for the demos Kyle. I am considering getting this as not only does it have some really good models, it also replaces 2 of my pedals on my board. I'm gonna have to sell one of my pedals to get it lol.
Man...what a difference when you switched to the real cab! I'll bet if you load in 3rd party IRs it would take this thing to another level. Amp modeling has taken such HUGE leaps just in the last two years. Even the cheap stuff sounds great! I can't wait to see where we are in two more years.
Excellent review....How would you say it is as a audio interface?....meaning is it possible to record to backing tracks without a noticeable latency/delay?
Kyle it must sound better in the room with you because I think it has a bit of brittle & thin kind of sound to it. I don’t know if it’s the UA-cam compression or not but I’m just not feeling this. *EDIT* Fizzy…I hear it sounding a bit fizzy.
Conspiracy theory: Kyle is really being sponsored by the salt and vinegar flavored snack industry. 😂 Affordable modeling boxes are getting seriously impressive. Great demo!
For the price of one OD pedal... I'd like to know how it takes pedals, and how it sounds in the FX loop of a real amp running a clean channel on low gain. People can take a whole collection of amps to a gig instead of just using the one they brought alone.
The Katana amp is your best bet of the three. I own a original version Katana 50 and also recently bought one of these Sonicake Matribox units because they are only $129 and i would say to get the Katana amp. The amp can be used with headphones and can be edited just like the Matribox or Ampero once you connect to the software from BOSS. The only advantage to the Matribox and Ampero mini is the drum presets.
When I lived in my apartment, I bought a Sonicake headphone jack amp that’s a recto and it’s pretty awesome for late night practice. Not like amazing, but really good and I’ve NEVER had to charge it. It’s been 3 years 😂 I always wanted the Dutch Gain one, but they discontinued it Btw- a little reverb on high gain DEFINITELY works. I keep the reverb on my JVM around 3…like Alexi did…and it’s just enough flavor
I think they load those presets down with reverb to make them sound bigger because that’s “metal” to them but it winds up sounding exactly like someone who isn’t into metal dialing in a. Metal tone .
Hey Kyle. Great demo. Looking at the display, it looked like the cab IR was still on when you switched to your cab. Just curious if that was the case or if you turned off the cab modeling in another menu. I have a Valeton GP100 and really dig it but with IRs off into a real cab it's not so good. I'm considering the Matribox. Keep up the good work!
Can the patches be moved to different preset locations for example a clean you like moved next to a dirty sound you like to save scrolling through ten patches mid song??
Dude, I'm buying this pedal as soon as I sell the pedal I bought last week with the money from the pedal I sold the week before. Just hope I can sell this pedal to buy the one that comes out next week. Just sayin
Great video!! Looks like it is running the same modeling engine as the Hotone Ampero (from the amp list and UI). If true it is wonderfull as the Ampero is one of the best sounding mid tier modeler in my opionion. And based on your demo, it sounds really good.
What I would like to know is, can you create your own tone patches say for instance a George Lynch tone and then a Van Halen tone and assign them to each footswitch so you can toggle back and forth on-the-fly?
At $129 new it is almost impossible to really criticize this unit! Is it the end all of multi effect modelers? No but then again for under $150 it is really impressive. In the past $129 would not get you much except maybe the Zoom stuff which was not very good sounding IMHO. I had several different Zoom,Boss, yamaha, units(from$99-$500) over the years and this easily beats all of those in sound.
@@belligerentamateur then that sonicake doesnt sound all that great- i was blaming neck pickup because they sound like **** but clearly this unit isnt that great- I was thinking of ordering one - now iull pass
we're living in the era where $150 ish amp sim pedals can blow any $1500 tube amps. This one, Mooer GE150. Valeton GP 100, Nux MG300, and so on. Oh btw, I'm not racists, but these are Chinese. Prob why so cheap. Hopefully the Americans have can make something like these cheap too.
American made ≠ good. It just means expensive. The reason why they are so cheap isn't because of the plastic, although that's a smaller part of the equation. It is because Chinese labor is cheap. If this was made in America, the same product would have been $800 or more
I do not know about this thing. It seems like from what I heard it is just one distortion after another. I am not hearing any modulation. For me it is a no go.

This x10000 😂
some of that old Zoom stuff is still pretty damn sweet, even if it doesn't sound "real" enough.
I still have a DigiTech RP70 I got when I was 8.

The GP200 (or whatever the newest model is, I can’t remember and I’m not at home) was a big upgrade imo. Great little guy!
You can get this as low as $60 now... Amazing small effects pedal

He switched to a user impulse response right? Not to a real cab, im confused LOL, he was still using the active cab sim.
@@rambacheNope. He tells you in the video @ 14:12 that he's running it into that small power amp and into his Mesa 4x12.

For an amp modeler at this price, it sounds insane ! 😮
Killer tones, and your kick ass riffs, very impressive unit.
Does it work as good in front of an amp line a stomp box?
The Halen 4x12 sounds awesome 🔥🤘🏻🔥 12:10
Deciding between this, Ampero mini or Boss Katana

Through my monitors that thing sound like a 100 watt head. Light years better than the Digitech RP100 I started out with.
Say Whaaaat?!
Shut the front door!
At $130?!
This is genuinely pretty freakin' impressive IMO.
It's seriously running 24 bit at 44.1k?!
Bonkers.
Kyle you Rock bro I needed something like this and your opinion matters so thanks for the help man!
Kyle send like a ride or die friend. Period.
Even though diminutive in size, it packs a punch
Did you leave the Cab IRs on through that MESA cab dude?!
LMAO!
💀💢✌
I like things such as this product to take with me while working out of town.
It definitely sounds good but I don't know if it's better than the mooer ge150.
Dude, I just noticed...
We have the same Kali Audio reference monitors! HaHa!
Genz benz g flex or harley benton ported cab demo a possibility ?

Absolutely
You going to try the matribox 2? Looks a lot easier to use and better built.
They asked me to check it out but they didn't want to pay.me properly so I declined
mark of the squeeeeeelahhhhh
