Great job showcasing the software, that was a concern for me. This video clinched it for me. Just bought a new one direct from Sonicake's eBay store. They accepted an offer for $150 shipped! That's nuts right?? I can't wait to get this! Thanks so much for the thorough demo
@ Hmmm, my Quad Cortex doesn’t sound digital to me nor does this guy. You have to do what you like and we need people like you to keep the tubes in production.
Shane.. I have to seriously thank you !!!! I ran across your website page denoting the different speaker upgrades for the Blues Jr. In it one speaker you advocated was the Celestion V Type above the stock A Type. I have a BJ-IV that has been modded to the classic Fender Tone Stack and placed in a Brite Switch with a less harsh cap. Great improvement. But still a bit Vague. I had a spkr enclosure with V-Type. I swapped out the stock A for the W. Good grief Shane!!! What a difference. Now it has that Fender Clean Compressed Sustain most Fenders have lost. And does wonders for the Over Drive. But with the mods as well. Thank You... DGA
IMPORTANT UPDATE!! if youre thinking of buying either of these great little units, and you're in the UK, Ebay have a 25% off code through the Sonicake store... It's only valid until 23:59 on 19th February, so I hope you all see this soon! I just picked up a Matribox II for £139.49, including shipping. Same % discount for the Matribox I, if you only want to dip your in the water!.... Tell your friends guys.... This is a no brainer!
I just got my Matribox II and loving every single second I've used it ♥️, there's a minor issue though: when I use the exp pedal as a wah, it doesn't turn off. Is there any way of turning it off depending on the position? For example, if i left it on heel position, can it turn off?
Seems pretty cool, I'm currently on the hunt for a great 'around the house' headphone playing solution, these seems close to ideal, although battery powered would be the icing on the cake!
Another good & informative demo, Shane. Given the variety of such units that you’ve reviewed in the last c12 months, I’d be interested to know whether you’ve got a favourite unit (or brand) in the 200-500 £/$/$AUS/€ price range, specifically as a crossover unit coping with solo practice and small live situations. Long, long ago, I had a BOSS ME5, which was of its time, and fair for home practice, but horrible for live use. Cheers!
How does this compare to the Harley Benton DNA fx GiT Pro? Very similar in terms of layout, I wonder if they're built by the same factory. Similar pricing, the DNA fx GiT is a bit cheaper than the PRO.
Another GReat Review SHane..... Great little unit that I wish I had as a beginner ... The Kids today are really spoiled for great effects units etc......
@@CS_Murphy_R9 Ampero produce Valeton and now Sonicake. Mooer I believe also produces cheaper brands (Harley Benton?) of FX units. I don't think NUX does this yet.
I wish the companies that make this type of unit would add Bluetooth so they could be controlled by a tablet. A laptop on my music stand is a bit much. Boss can so it on their air, and the pocket GT. Using an iPad is so much easier. For me anyway. Couldn’t add that much to the cost.
I have the original Matribox and use it every time I play. However, I'm pissed that the company released version 2 only 4 months after version 1. That was such a lame move. Boo! to Sonicake for that. ☠️
All these youtube influencers promoting the same chinese digital effects units. Ive had enough of all this china merchandise as it is becoming long in the tooth.
Er um , that’s because they weren’t invented back then 🤣 . This sounds fines , okay it’s no Helix but in a mix or live no one ... no one will notice except the cork sniffers and tyre kickers . It’s the best time to be a guitarist ever , more choice , better low / mid priced guitars , it’s all gravy baby 🥳👍
The problem with those almost entry level pedal is that they will receive 2 updates in their entire lives waiting for the new model coming into the market. It's crap.
It's not crap, the pedal actually has some good tones if you tweak the presets. The only thing that I'm pissed about is they released version 2 only 4 months after version 1.

Great demonstration of the functionality of this unit. Got one last week and this was very helpful. Thank you.

Sonicake is great value for money, jeez... wish this was around when I first started playing guitar
Cheers for the excellent review fella. Now purchased .All the best.
It seems like another one of these releases every 60 days, becoming more feature packed and affordable than the one before. Good demo, Shane! 😺👍
This is great value for money and sounds good enough for most applications. Can't believe what they've done for the cost. Amazing.
If your a fan of digital sounds you will be in your element.

It is amazing how many features this small thing has.
Its a digital sound just number crunching.
The sound is great e also has send return for analog pedal. It is awesome!

very good work and interesting multi-effect. Hi Pavel CZ
Sonicake puts out good products at very reasonable prices. Everyone you've reviewed show their worth.
This lives in my Amazon cart 😂
haha. :) It's great value, much like the version 1.
@@intheblues do you prefer version one? Trying to decide sorry
yes! were hoping you would cover this as i trust your opinion. thanks! :)
This is a great entry level multi efx pedal
You did not even touch on the 90 second Looper? I use it for a rhythm backing track to play solo's
Very good price. The TS simulation was great.

How does it Sound just Going into a Tube Amp for a live Gig ?

Icing on the sonicake??

This pedal will be good for metal tone ?! Thanks for the video !
Hi Man! Great review again! Question: is it possible to use a one button looper option? And: a single long push to stop and erase a loop? tks!
Hi Bro, how is its pitch shifter?
Another GReat Review SHane..... Great little unit that I wish I had as a beginner ... The Kids today are really spoiled for great effects units etc......
Can the patches be moved around?
This is pretty much a Valeton GP-200 Junior in a different box. Nothing wrong with that though for the price!
I cannot confirm this but read the Valeton, matribox, ampero, and NU-X multi units are all made in the same factory?
Can anyone confirm this?

@@rickharrison4722 Thank you.
Is there any options to adjust mic position (x,y,z) and mic types on the cab section in the unit?
Rockin' box! \m/
Is there a similar pedal for Bass?

With the 2 stereo out can you just use one out to go into a mixer instrument left or right in?
You can send the headphone output to a mixer yes. You just need the correct cable and you're good to go.
Thank you, great. Can you suggest a cable type for this? Also what about using the 1/4 stereo out?
How are you just using your on a computer, mine doesn’t make any noise when I plug it into my computer
Does it have the horrible digital clipping many have at edge of breakup if u dig in?
So this is exact the ampero one with the same amps and effects but with different design and maybe ad/da converters
The ampero Stomp is the one i really want but $499 is a bit much considering this Matribox II is very close to it.
The Ampero One doesn’t have midi in/out. I think this is a combination of ampero one and valeton gp-200
the software I have is version 1.0.2 and it is not compatible with my pc can you help me I need 1.0.0 as your version

Way to much work
Been listening to a huge amount of 60's,70's and 80's music classics of late. None of them relied on a modelling device. Just sayin.
