It all comes down to $MONEY$ guys! If your below 50 and trying to make it a long term play you need at least 25K for a 5 year visa to get you set up, this also doesn't allow you to work in the country. Thailand is pretty affordable compared to most of our western countries we all come from here, but who wants to scrape by on 1K a month. Build up passive income before you make the move!
Are you referring to the new DTV with a 5 year validity? That's 25K $$$? I heard details regarding the DTV or Destination Thailand Visa with 5 year validity for as long as one year stay, multiple times during that 5 year validity from a Thai immigration official on UA-cam. However he did not address cost so I'm wondering about that. It sounds like an excellent option for me as I was planning on splitting time between Thailand and US. 6 months in each country annually.
@@MisterSuki DTV is much cheaper than 25K but the cheapest elite visa is 25K. I have heard mixed things on DTV but it just launched so we will see, could be a better more affordable option.
@@Dividend-Shark90 I have since learned the DTV must be applied for in home country or at least not while in Thailand. You can't apply for that visa in Thailand. I registered an account with Thai E Visa site to work on a DTV. I'll learn the cost that way. 😉

Legally you cannot arrive on a one way ticket without a visa, airlines can refuse to board you. Stay away from visa agents, if legal it's easy and cheap to do it yourself. Elite visa is the only easy option if under 50 if you want to stay long term. Ed visa's are only a year, forget visa runs. Does not say what visa he is on.
Sometimes they ask sometimes they don’t but yes typically will need to show some kind of exit ticket. Why would you tell ppl to stay away from agencies? Most people do not want to have to de with paperwork and what not and the cost isn’t that bad
More than one agent has run off with money and passports gone. Much of their income comes from passing on bribes to IO's for dodgy extensions.@@theisaiahashleyshow4251
Great video, Isaiah. Love your channel. One question about being a digital nomad. Even if you’re physically in Thailand but working as a digital nomad where all of your work and clientele is based in the U.S. and not taking away jobs or business from the Thai people, aren’t the visa types super strict about prohibiting all kinds of work with Thailand? I know there is a specific digital nomad visa, but the criteria are super strict (earning at least US $85K per year, working for a company with capitalization of at least several million dollars (I forget the exact amount), being in certain specialized labor categories, having at least $250K US invested in the Thai stock market or Thai business, etc). Obviously, most digital nomads don’t fit those requirements. What is the workaround?
There is no work around. He is working illegally in Thailand. He will eventually be reported to immigration and deported. He does not understand that any work requires a work visa. His UA-cam channel too, as he is using Thailand resources to earn an income. He does not realize Thai immigration monitors internet activity of all foreigners. He has some hard lessons to learn.
Your best bet is work remote from Thailand option is below, unless you have a decent amount of money and can invest into the Thai Economy. Work-From-Thailand Professionals - Personal income: min. USD 80,000/year in the past 2 years. - If personal income is between USD 40,000/year and USD 80,000/year in the past 2 years, applicants must have a Master’s degree or own intellectual property or receive Series A funding. - Company in operation for at least 3 years with combined audited revenue of min. USD 150 million in the last 3 years. - Min. 5 years of work experience over the past 10 years.

Work-From-Thailand Professionals
- Personal income: min.

"Moving here and trying to get hired is literally not an option" - The hundreds of people I know who did that and earn good incomes tend to disagree.

@@theisaiahashleyshow4251 Some did education visas for a year then got jobs. But the majority got extended visas and job searched for 3-6 months.
